LOOK: What Kris, sons are wearing to PNoy's last SONA
MANILA – “Wear Pinoy” and “love local” – these are the fashion pegs of TV host and actress Kris Aquino as she attends the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of her brother, President Benigno Aquino III, on Monday afternoon.
Aquino and her two sons, Josh and Bimby, had their usual photo at the living room of their home shortly before heading to the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City, where the SONA is annually held.
Aquino is seen wearing a blue Filipiniana gown by young designer Michael Leyva. The dress uses fabric from Lumban, Laguna.
Josh and Bimby, meanwhile, are shown in matching embroidered piña Barongs using fabric from Lucban, Quezon.
“My brooch holding the panuelo in place was my mom’s,” Aquino wrote, referring to her late mother, President Corazon Aquino.
Aquino was styled by Boop and Kimi Yap, while her sons were styled by Bang Pineda and Gian Carlo David. Makeup and hair, meanwhile, were by Juan Sarte and Nante Alingasa, respectively.

WATCH: Bimby reacts to Kris' swimsuit photo
MANILA – It seems that Kris Aquino did not tell her youngest son that she will be showing off her summer-ready body in a photo shoot for an entertainment magazine.
In the Wednesday episode of “Kris TV,” eight-year-old Bimby asked Aquino why she had to wear a bathing suit in the pictorial.
To which, his mother answered: “Last na nga 'yun. Bimb because they are showcasing the best of the Philippines. So how can I be in Coron and not wear a bathing suit?”
Aquino then told Bimby that she considers it an honor “to be on the cover of the 15th anniversary of the most beautiful.”
“Bimb naman ‘di ba, ma-proud ka naman sa mama mo. You’re not proud that you have a beautiful mama?” she asked.
But Bimby’s reply surprised Aquino.
“I am proud [but] it’s gross, showing off,” he said. “Moms should not wear bathing suits.”
Aquino then reasoned with Bimby by citing Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Jessica Alba, who already have kids but still wear swimsuits.
Bimby, however, was firm in saying he didn’t like Aquino’s pictures.
“I don’t want you to be in a bathing suit. I don’t want guys to say you’re hot,” he said.
Apparently, Bimby saw Aquino’s pictures through the TV host’s Instagram page.
Last week, Aquino shared in the image-sharing site some of the outtakes from the photo shoot which will appear in Yes! Magazine.
In one of the captions, Aquino said she had fun doing the pictorial while also appreciating the “beauty and majesty” of the Philippines.

James Yap reacts to son Bimby's bashers
MANILA, Philippines -- PBA superstar James Yap merely shrugged off online comments of his son’s detractors.
For Yap, there are those who are out to criticize whatever he does -- and that this applies to his son Bimby as well, now that the boy is pursuing an acting career.
“Ganyan naman talaga, hindi mo hawak ang pag-iisip ng mga tao. Iki-criticize ka kahit ano ka,” said Yap. “Pero for me, wala namang problema. Kasi ako 'yung tatay na kung ano 'yung gusto ng anak ko, susuportahan ko.”
“Kung basketball man 'yan o showbiz, basta masaya siya sa ginagawa niya, 'yun ang importante,” he added.
His former wife, actress-TV host Aquino, recently lashed against online bullies for calling their son "toyab," the inverted form of "bayot," which is the Visayan word for gay.
The netizens made the comment after Aquino posted Bimby's birthday greeting for his "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" co-star Alex Gonzaga.
"Alam niyo kung balak nyong bastusin ang anak ko, do it ng harap harapan. Kasi hindi ko kayo aatrasan. Super nag PRAY ako today, Pero kahit sinong naany kung anak na 7 years old ang aapihin, papatol at handang RUMESBAK," Aquino wrote on her Instagram page.

James Yap posts photo with 'mystery girl' in Italy
MANILA, Philippines – Where was James Yap on Father’s Day?
This question was answered by the professional basketball player himself via a post he made in the image-sharing site Instagram on Wednesday.
Two days after his former wife, Kris Aquino, told the media that Yap was out of reach on Father’s Day, the 31-year-old cager surprised netizens as he posted a photo of himself with a blonde-haired woman.
While Yap only said “#italy #niceview” in the caption, many believe that the girl in the photo is his rumored Italian girlfriend.
In the photo, Yap and the woman were seen close to each other as they stand on a ledge made of bricks and rocks, with the sea behind them.
The Instagram photo sparked online buzz, getting more than 1,800 "likes" and over 200 comments as of writing.
Some netizens said they are happy for the basketball player for finally finding someone to be with, while others continued to question him for not being with his son, Bimby, last Father's Day.
In his earlier interviews, Yap said spending time with his son Bimby would be the best gift for Father's Day he could ever have.
Yap even cut short his vacation with his family in Negros Occidental, hoping to spend time with his son again after the Makati Regional Trial Court denied his ex-wife Kris Aquino's appeal for a permanent protection order (PPO) against him on behalf of their 6-year-old son late last month.
“Medyo matagal na rin kami hindi nagkikita. Sa billboard ko na lang siya nakikita, (laughs) sa TV. So ayun, excited [akong makasama siya],” he said.
Aquino, however, said on Tuesday that she did her part for Bimby to celebrate Father’s Day with Yap. Aquino said she texted Yap’s lawyers at 8 a.m. but didn’t get a reply until 4:45 p.m.
"Sinabi sa akin na sorry di daw nila makontak si Mr. Yap pero subukan ko na lang daw tumawag. Honestly, huwag naman akong gawing kontrabida kasi I did my share at 8 in the morning,” she said.
Based on Yap’s Instagram posts, he has been in Europe since the first week of June. His latest post revealed he is currently in Paris.

I miss you, James Yap tells son Bimby
MANILA, Philippines -- James Yap on Friday sought to remind his son Bimby of his love on the occasion of the latter's 6th birthday, as the star cager remains barred from visiting his only child with former partner Kris Aquino.
The 31-year-old basketball player took to image-sharing service Instagram midnight Friday to greet his son by posting an undated photo of them together (seen above) captioned with the following:
"I miss holding your hand, I miss giving u a hug. Kahit anong mangyari, lagi mo tatandaan na mahal na mahal ka ni papa! Happy birthday babyJames!! #flashbackfriday"
Yap has been prohibited from being within 100 meters of Bimby and Aquino under a temporary protection order (TPO), which the actress-host is seeking to make permanent.
The order stems from an incident last December 3, when Yap allegedly attempted to "force himself" on Aquino in front of their son, and three other incidents in January and March where the celebrity cager allegedly caused "distress" on Bimby.
Yap has denied making such "amorous advances" on Aquino, and has accused his former partner of "brainwashing" their child.
Aquino and Yap were married in civil rites in July 2005. Their marriage was declared null in February last year, following allegations of infidelity on Yap's part.
The father no longer has custody of Bimby, but was allowed able to visit his son 109 times in a year by court until the issuance of the TPO.
The child lives with Aquino along with his half-brother, Joshua.

Bimby will naturally side with Kris, expert says
MANILA -- Between his parents James Yap and Kris Aquino, who are currently involved in a publicized legal spat, James "Bimby" Yap, Jr. will naturally side with his mother, according to a family counselor.
In an interview on the Studio 23 newscast "Iba Balita" on Friday, family counselor Joji Racelis said it is not surprising that Bimby appears to be taking the side of Aquino in her ongoing tiff with her former husband.
"Natural na natural 'yun, kasi usually ang formative years ng bata, na sa nanay talaga. Mas maka-nanay siya," Racelis said, referring to the 5-year-old boy.
"Pag nakikita niya kung gaano kagalit 'yung nanay niya, baka nagagaya niya iyon... Lalaki siya, tapos laki siya sa nanay niya, lagi siyang nandoon, [kaya] parang he might feel obliged na dapat kumampi ako sa nanay ko," the counselor said.
Aquino and Yap were married in civil rites in July 2005. Their marriage was declared null in February last year, following allegations of infidelity on Yap's part.
The father no longer has custody of Bimby, but is able to visit his son 109 times in a year as ordered by court. The child lives with Aquino along with his half-brother, Joshua.
"Alam mo litung-lito na 'yung bata," Racelis said, referring to Bimby. "At saka kung minsan hindi na niya maiisip kung ano na talaga yung nararamdaman niya."
"Ang sinasabi nalang niya kung ano 'yung sa tingin niyang dapat niyang sabihin, so baka 'yung mga mina-mouth niya hindi na galing sa kanya 'yun, galing sa kalituhan na niya, o sino 'yung mas malakas na boses o mas ma-impluwensya sa buhay niya ngayon," the family counselor said.
He said, she said
Early this week, Aquino's legal counsel Atty. Francisco Chavez said the 42-year-old actress-host is seeking to make a temporary protection order (TPO) against Yap permanent and this would mean the 31-year-old basketball player needs to keep a distance of at least 100 meters from Aquino and Bimby.
Issued on March 15 by a Makati City court, the order is effective for 30 days.
The TPO stems from an incident last December 3, when Yap allegedly attempted to "force himself" on Aquino in front of Bimby, at which point the child, according to Chavez, angrily pushed his father out of the actress' bedroom.
Aquino has said that Yap's "advances," which the star cager has denied, has had "effects" on their son Bimby. This, and three other incidents in January and March where Yap allegedly caused "distress" on their son, the actress said, were what prompted her to seek a TPO against her former husband, and subsequently seek its permanent effectivity.
Yap, in a press conference last Wednesday, turned emotional over the growing animosity of his son towards him, which he attributes to Aquino's alleged "brainwashing." The actress-host has also denied this, saying she in fact discourages her son from "hating" his father.
"Kung ikaw ang nasa lugar ng bata, isipin mo, may sinasabi 'yung nanay mo, may sinasabi 'yung tatay mo, may napapanood ka sa TV, nakakalito," Racelis said.
She added, "Tsaka depende kung ano ang perception niya. Ang mga bata meron silang good and bad eh, right and wrong. So kung minsan, magde-decide siya, ay, good 'yung isa, bad 'yung isa, pero alam ba niya 'yung tunay na nangyayari?"
Racelis said that while both camps' clashing claims are equally believable, it is best to tap a third party in assessing the situation.
"Kung makikinig tayo sa kwento nung babae at titingnan natin 'yung buong istorya from her perspective, kakampi tayo sa kanya. Kung pakikinggan naman natin 'yung lalaki, kakampi rin tayo sa kanya," she said.
"Kaya ang pinakamabuti diyan is a neutral third party na makikinig sa kanilang dalawa, at hindi ito judge na magde-decide kung sino 'yung tama o mali," the family counselor added.
Bimby vs James?
On Friday, both Aquino's and Yap's camp were issued a gag order by a Makati City court in relation to their ongoing legal battle.
Earlier, however, Chavez said a hearing is set on April 8 to address Aquino's request to make the TPO against Yap permanent. The lawyer said his client will appear as the first witness against her former husband. Bimby, likewise, may also testify against his father to "affirm what is stated in our petition," Chavez added.
"If we can save the child from testifying, we will," Chavez said. "It all depends on what the court requires. If the court says she has to listen to the child, the child is ready to testify. He is a very intelligent 5-year-old kid."
Asked if he feels Bimby will be able to make his "own decision" considering his age, the lawyer said, "Let's put it this way -- we cannot expect much from a 5-year-old kid, but he understands what he is doing."
Racelis, however, disagreed that Bimby can make his "own decision." The family counselor said choosing between his parents will be difficult for the child.
"Ang mahirap kasi sa bata, pag nag-away 'yung magulang niya, theoretically, dapat hindi siya papapiliin: Sino ang mas mahal mo, yung nanay mo o 'yung tatay mo? Mahirap sagutin 'yon eh," she said.
The family counselor advised that Bimby should be spared from making a "decision," and instead account for his say in the matter in arriving at an actual decision among the adults involved in the case.
"Hindi kailangang siya ang magpasya, pero kailangang pakinggan siya, kung ano 'yung views niya. Tapos pag pakikinggan na siya, you take that into consideration, then you will decide, pero hindi siya 'yung magde-decide. Masyado pa siyang bata," she said.
As a respite from the controversy, Aquino and Bimby, along with Joshua, are in Paris, France for a vacation. Yap had earlier sought a hold departure order on his former partner for fear that she may have no plans to return to the Philippines with their son, especially in light of her resignation from all her programs on ABS-CBN. However, Yap's petition was junked by court.
Although Bimby's trip to see Disneyland in Paris may provide enjoyment for the 5-year-old, as Chavez had said, Racelis stressed that it may be best for the child to be assessed by a psychologist.
"I think ang mabuti dito ay para for the protection din ng bata, sana kumuha sila ng child psychologist na magbibigay ng feedback sa mga magulang kung paano naaapektuhan ang anak nila at kung anong mabuti," she said.

Kris' son Bimby 'hates' Robin Padilla
MANILA, Philippines -- The son of Kris Aquino with star cager James Yap is harboring "hate" towards the Kapamilya host's latest leading man.
Even onscreen, Aquino's pretend romance is a matter of concern for James Yap, Jr., more popularly known by his nickname "Bimby."
Aquino said Bimby is "affected" and "heartbroken" by any hint of a new love life for his mom.
Referring to the upcoming comedy film "Sisterakas," where she portrays a villainous business tycoon, Aquino said, "Dito tuwang-tuwa nga siya (Bimby) dahil walang ka-love team, walang ka-eksena."
In her upcoming romance-drama series, however, the same isn't the case.
In "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw," Aquino and former real-life boyfriend Robin Padilla portray a married couple, Roxanne and Bogs.
"Nanood [si Bimby] ng taping namin," Aquino told reporters shortly after the grand press conference for "Sisterakas" held Saturday.
"Ang nakita niyang scene kasi was a 15th wedding anniversary scene. Obviously may halik. Hindi siya naka-get over talaga, kasi ang bukambibig niya, 'Mama, I really hate Robin Padilla because he's stealing you from me,'" the actress added, laughing.
According to Aquino, 41, Bimby even went to tell "everyone" about the kiss, including the "Kris TV" host's brother, President Benigno Aquino III.
For his part, Padilla has assured the 5-year-old that the kissing scene is just pretend. "Ang sabi niya, 'Bimb, it's just acting, it's not real life.' Napapa-English siya," Aquino said.
"Tapos nagsuntukan na lang sila, hindi pa rin sila okay," she added, laughing.
Along with "It's Showtime" host Vice Ganda and veteran comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas, Aquino topbills Star Cinema's "Sisterakas." The upcoming comedy flick by Wenn Deramas is a film entry to the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival.
Also starring Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla and Xyriel Manabat, "Sisterakas" will hit theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.
