Daiana Menezes engaged to solon

MANILA, Philippines -- Brazilian model and host Daiana Menezes is now engaged to Rep. Jose Benjamin "Benjo" Benaldo of Cagayan de Oro.

Menezes revealed the engagement in an interview with "KrisTV" on Thursday.

"Engaged kami but we call ourselves 'asawa' na," the Brazilian beauty said, adding that they might get married next year.

According to Menezes, she met the congressman only last January.

"Parang ang bilis, hindi ba?" Menezes told host Kris Aquino.

She said the lawmaker proposed to her under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. After the proposal they went to Brazil, where Benaldo meet Menezes' parents.

Before Benaldo, the Brazilian was previously engaged to TV director GB Sampedro before their controversial break up last year.

Kris, a proud sister, after PNoy's ratings soar

MANILA, Philippines -- Host and actress Kris Aquino said she's proud of her brother President Benigno Aquino III's latest achievement.

According to the latest Social Weather Stations survey, the President's ratings have reached a record high, with his net satisfaction rating rising 25 points to a "very good" +67 -- the highest so far for his administration.

"Congrats nga. Siyempre naman and siyempre proud. May mga nagsabi sa amin na we don't believe surveys, well I'm sorry po, kami we do. Kaya nga siguro ginalingan niya ng bonggang bongga. Kasi it was a wake up call. When it was down, siyempre mapi-feel mo 'hey what is it that I'm not communicating to the people?," said Kris, who also defended her only brother against his critics in connection with a Pulse Asia survey conducted last year.

"I was trying to say also na kami nga sa industriya namin (sa showbiz), we live and die by those surveys because siyempre kapag ang survey ng mga programa namin mababa, you are off the air. Pero ito ang masasabi ko lang na I'm proud.. .this is the highest nga since 1999. That's long, that's a total of 13 years," the younger Aquino said.

"I'm a proud sister... karapatan ko naman na ma-proud ako sa kanya and I think successful din 'yung nangyari sa APEC," she added.

Cheska Garcia pregnant with third child

MANILA, Philippines -- Host Cheska Garcia is now pregnant to her third child.

In an interview with "KrisTV" on Tuesday, Garcia admitted that she and husband, basketball player Doug Kramer, agreed to have only two kids.

"Wala eh, it happened. I got pregnant. Actually very safe, pero what happened was it still happened. It's really meant to be," she said.

In 2009, Garcia gave birth to their first child Clair Kendra.

Last November, she gave birth to her second baby girl Scarlett Louvelle.

Aga Muhlach joins Liberal Party

Actor-host Aga Muhlach is set to be sworn in as a new member of President Benigno Aquino III's Liberal Party on Friday.

In a statement, DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas II, president of the Liberal Party, will swear in Muhlach and 63 other top local government officials and leaders to the party in an oath-taking ceremony at Balay, the home of the LP National Headquarters in Cubao.

Muhlach will be running for local elections in Camarines Sur.

Last March, Muhlach and wife Charlene Gonzales registered as voters of Camarines Sur in Bicol.

"Masayang masaya ako na makasama ko sila. My family's from there, my lola, my dad. Sabi ko nga may pangalan naman akong inayos, na hindi ko naman sisirain talaga. All I want to do is to prove to them also na mayroon talagang pwedeng gawin doon," Muhlach said on Wednesday night.

In an earlier statement on "The Buzz," Gonzales said it has been Muhlach’s dream to serve and give back to the Filipino people.
Gonzales said at the time that whatever decision Muhlach makes, she will be there to support her husband.

Vice Ganda on Kris: We're best of friends

MANILA, Philippines – Comedian-host Vice Ganda said he and Queen of All Media Kris Aquino have become "the best of friends."

The "It's Showtime" host said he foresees a good working relationship with Aquino since their relationship has grown considerably since they met.

"Okay kami kasi we're friends, actually were best of friends. Actually, asawa nga 'yung turingan naming dalawa, kaya hindi kami nahihiya.

"Hindi ako hesitant na loko-lokohin siya kasi malalim na 'yung pinagsamahan namin," Vice Ganda said during the Yahoo! OMG awards night on Friday.

The Comedian of the Year awardee is set to co-star with Aquino in Star Cinema's upcoming comedy film "Sisteraka," an official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival.

For Vice Ganda, making his debut in the annual film fest is a dream come true.

"[Oo, excited ako,] first film fest ko 'to eh. Noon pa 'yun eh, gusto ko makasakay ng float, 'yung mga simpleng ganoon," he said.

Before he starts shooting for the film fest bet, Vice Ganda said he will finish taping for her big-screen project co-starring actress Toni Gonzaga and actor-host Luis Manzano, titled "This Guy's In Love With You, Mare."

With high-profile projects already filling up his schedule until the year's end, is there anything more Vice Ganda can ask for?

"Marami pa namang kulang. Hindi naman ako perpektong tao, ang buhay ko ay 'di perpekto, ang daming kulang," he said.

"Pero hindi ko kasi iniisip kung ano ang kulang eh, ang iniisip ko kung ano ang natatanggap ko at kung ano mayroon ako ngayon, kasi mas marami 'yung blessings kaysa mga kulang na hinahanap ko."
