Did Anne Curtis give her number to Justin Bieber?

MANILA – Vice Ganda revealed that international pop star Justin Bieber asked for Anne Curtis’ number during one of his visits in Manila.

Vice Ganda shared this information during the Sunday episode of “Gandang Gabi Vice” with special guests Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.

The three of them were talking about Bieber because the host found out that the Canadian singer was following Soberano on Twitter.

Vice Ganda then said: “May isang celebrity, kilala natin. Dumating dito si Justin Bieber tapos pinahingi niya 'yung number nung kakilala nating girl. Pero si girl nagmaganda, hindi binigay 'yung number.”

Although he initially didn’t want to reveal the female celebrity, he later on said: “Sabi ko sige na mag-join ka na tapos join mo ako. Kaya bongga si girl, dinedma si Justin Bieber. Ayaw ko sabihin. Basta itago na lang natin sa pangalang Curtis. Ang taray ni girl, ‘di ba?”

The last time Bieber visited the country was in December 2013 when he helped raise funds for the victims of super typhoon "Yolanda."

Gerald mum on Kim's revelation about cheating ex

MANILA – Gerald Anderson refused to comment on Kim Chiu’s statement last week on “Gandang Gabi Vice” that she knows first-hand how it feels to be cheated on by her former boyfriend.

While Chiu did not mention Anderson’s name in the interview, the actress told host Vice Ganda that she only had one past relationship. Both former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemates, Chiu and Anderson broke up in 2010 amid controversies surrounding their relationship.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News and other reporters over the weekend, Anderson politely declined to say anything about the matter.

He said: “No [ayaw ko po mag-comment]. Basta manood po kayo ng ‘Everyday I Love You’ and ‘Etiquette for Mistresses.’”

The latter movie is Chiu’s latest big screen project where she plays the role of the other woman.

Anderson instead spoke at length about his experience working with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.

“Okay sila. Sobrang seryoso ako kapag sa trabaho eh. Kapag nakikita ko sila na very light, sobrang magaan katrabaho, kita ko sa mga mukha nila na they are having fun. Ang tagal ko nang hindi ako ganun. Dati ganun ako. So parang bumalik 'yung I’m just having fun. Kahit mahirap 'yung roles namin, at the end of the day, nagagawa naming light,” he said.

Asked what he thinks of Soberano and Gil’s team-up, Anderson said: “Effortless lang sila. Tulad ng sinabi ko, they are just having fun. They are a natural. It just comes out kaya siguro maraming natutuwa sa kanila.”

However, he said he is uncertain whether the two are already a couple based on what he saw while they were working.

“Hindi ko alam. Hindi ko masasagot iyan. Pero kung ano 'yung nakita ko, they are having fun. Mahirap magsalita. Marami silang nai-inspire so 'yun naman ang importante doon,” he said.

But does he miss having a special someone every time he sees his two co-stars in “Everyday I Love You”?

“Oo siyempre naman. Lalaki po ako. I have feelings also. I go through mga ups and downs also. Tao din ako, may nami-miss din po ako. Pero ganun po talaga ang buhay. Isa sa mga natutunan ko sa movie na ito, minsan sa simula ng relasyon, sobrang saya niyo and then one day gigising ka realizing na baka I’m holding her back from something para ma-achieve niya 'yung mga dreams niya or baka [the relationship] is holding me back para sa self-achievement ko. Like I said, tao po ako so may nami-miss din po ako,” he explained.

Despite this, Anderson stressed that he is not yet ready to enter a new relationship.

“Hindi ko pa nga nakikita 'yung bahay ko for the last two weeks. Kumabaga, anong oras ang maibibigay ko sa magiging girlfriend ko? Ayaw ko maging selfish at maging unfair sa kanya. I don’t want to go through something like that,” he said.

Anderson’s last girlfriend was Maja Salvador.

Vice Ganda had hip enhancement

Vice Ganda admitted that he underwent hip enhancement as part of his preparations for his upcoming concert "Vice Gandang Ganda Sa Sarili" at the Big Dome on May 22.

"Wala naman yatang maniniwala kapag sinabi kong totoo ang balakang ko, talaga namang gawa. Hindi ba kaya masyado na akong namihasa sa pagtata-tangga dahil 'yun lang ang mga pagkakataon na naipapakita ko ang balakang ko," Ganda said.

Edgar Allan wins Week 10 as Vice Ganda

MANILA -- Kapamilya actor Edgar Allan Guzman surprised the judges and the studio audience when he transformed into comedian Vice Ganda on "Your Face Sounds Familiar" on Sunday.

Guzman performed the song "Kara Karaka," complete with Vice Ganda's signature dance moves.

Guest judge Vice Ganda, who openly showed that he liked Guzman's performance, noted that the actor was more beautiful than him.

"Nakakainsulto lang talaga kasi ang ganda-ganda mo. Walang bahid kasi ng kabayo ito. Bongga. Maraming salamat sa magandang performance mo. Maraming salamat kasi hindi mo binaboy ang panggagaya mo sa akin. In fact, pinaganda mo nang todo hanggang lumayo na sa itsura ko," he said.

Judge Jed Madela noted that it's not easy performing in front of the person one is impersonating.

"Ang hirap mag-perform in front of 'yung kinokopya mo nga 'di ba? I'm sure some of our contestants can relate to that. But, of course, to copy such an iconic person such as Vice, it's not easy. It's not easy to copy Vice. Pwede nating kopyahin 'yung damit, ikaw spotless 'yung pagkopya mo ng damit, the hair, pero 'yun nga, vocally, meron. Andun 'yun eh. In totality, the entire performance, entertainment value, was really tops," Jed Madela said.

"EA's going to get a very high score for me tonight. To have that kind of devotion sa gagawin mo for one number, doon saludong saludo ako. For me it was a great performance," Sharon Cuneta added.

Guzman brought home the P100,000 prize money for his performance, half of which he will donate to the SAF 44 families.

What to expect from Vice Ganda's concert

MANILA -- Expect a concert of Super Bowl half-time proportions when comedian-host Vice Ganda returns to the Araneta Coliseum later this month.

Unlike most concerts, "Vice Gandang Ganda Sa Sarili," which will happen on May 22, will have an arena-style staging.

"Ito 'yung first time na mangyayari sa local concert scene na ang stage ay nasa gitna ng Araneta, parang Super Bowl," he said. "Tapos walang backdrop, bilog lang siya. Kaya ang mga mangyayari it's either nasa ere ka o nasa lupa ka."

Vice Ganda also hinted that the opening number will be "malalang buwis-buhay."

The comedian, whose last major concert "I-Vice Ganda Mo Ko at the Araneta" was held back in 2013, is sparing no expense for the upcoming show.

"Nag-over budget kami. May mga production dito na nag-abono na ako, para huwag lang matanggal. Sabi ko ibawas na lang sa talent fee. Kapag natanggal 'yung ibang effects parang sayang kasi 'yun 'yung mga pinangarap kong gawin na dito ko lang magagawa sa Araneta, sa big concert. Kapag hindi ko nagawa ngayon, ;di ko alam kung magagawa ko pa. Kung sa susunod pa, eh baka malaos na at baka magawa na ng iba," he said.

Like father, like son: Alonzo impersonates Nino Muhlach

Alonzo Muhlach re-enacted a scene from "Kuwatog," one of the movies where his father Niño Muhlach starred as a child actor back in the day.

Appearing on Sunday's "Gandang Gabi Vice," the Inday Bote child star told Vice Ganda that he knew how famous his dad was before.

When asked which movie of Niño he liked best, Alonzo said it was the 1979 hit, "Kuwatog".

"Kaya ko yung laugh ni Kuwatog," Alonzo said.

Then, he delivered the line, "Sige, kain pa kayo. Tutal hari naman kayo eh."

During the show, Alonzo also shared to co-star Alex Gonzaga and host Vice Ganda that he rides on his dad's back whenever they play.

"Me, I always ride on my Papa's back," he said. "Ate Vice, alam mo ang bigat ko."

Vice gladly hoisted the young actor and let Niño, who was in the audience, take a picture of the two of them.

Vice Ganda to undergo operation in January

MANILA – "It's Showtime" host Vice Ganda has opted to postpone an operation to remove a polyp in his throat to January next year.

Although he is currently doing fine, the comedian said he still needs the surgery to remove the polyp, which is affecting his vocal cords.

“Sa ngayon okay naman pero kailangan kong operahan sa January kasi hindi natanggal 'yung polyps ko eh. Hindi ako pwede magpaopera ngayon kasi ginagawa ko pa 'yung ('The Amazing Praybeyt) Benjamin.' Kailangan ko mag-total voice rest after nun (operation),” he told ABS-CBN News on the sidelines of the 28th PMPC Star Awards on Sunday.

With his extremely hectic schedule -- aside from “It’s Showtime” and “Gandang Gabi Vice,” the comedian is rushing to finish the “Praybeyt Benjamin” sequel for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival -- Vice Ganda said he is just praying that he be given enough strength so he may fulfill all his responsibilities.

“Idinadaan ko na lang sa dasal na wag mawala yung katinuan ng utak ko kasi minsan nakakapagod din yung stress at pressure ng lahat pero mas nangingibabaw yung nag-e-enjoy pa ako,” he said.

“Iisa lang naman ang inspirasyon ko lagi -- ayaw ko na bumalik sa kahirapan. Mas gusto ko na mapagod sa trabaho kesa mapagod sa kakahanap ng trabaho na hindi makita,” he added.

Asked if he feels pressured to replicate the success of the original "Praybeyt Benjamin" movie, Vice Ganda said: “Siyempre lahat naman ng tao, goal mag-succeed pero ang pressure kailangan i-take mo ng positibo sa sarili mo. Alam naman ng Diyos kung ano ang intensyon namin sa proyektong ito kaya hindi kami pababayaan ng Diyos.”

Aside from Vice Ganda, “Praybeyt Benjamin 2” also stars Alex Gonzaga, Richard Yap and James “Bimby” Aquino-Yap Jr.

Vice recalls 2010 concert with Vhong in Island Cove

MANILA – Comedian Vice Ganda confirmed that he was with Vhong Navarro on the night April 24, 2010, the same date that former pageant contestant Roxanne Acosta Cabañero claimed she was raped by the “It’s Showtime” host somewhere in Pasig City.

In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” host Boy Abunda on Sunday, Vice Ganda said he was in Island Cove, a resort in Cavite, on that day almost four years ago for a concert with Navarro as one of his guests.

“Nung araw na nagpunta sila para mag-promote ng pageant [sa 'It's Showtime'], hindi ko na po 'yun naaalala. Nung nalaman ko 'yung date, ipinaalala ng mga tao na concert ko 'yun at guest ko sila Kean Cipriano and Vhong Navarro. Sa Cavite po ang leg ng concert ko na 'yun,” he said.

“Sigurado akong hindi nagsimula ng 8 p.m. 'yun. Mahaba ako mag-concert, hindi bumababa ng dalawang oras, usually tatlong oras talaga. Kung nagsisimula ng 9 p.m. maaaring matapos ako ng 12 midnight or baka mas mahaba pa,” he added.

According to Vice Ganda, he was accompanied by Navarro up until his final production number.

“Si Vhong siya lagi ang last guest ko kasi kumbaga, sa lahat ng mga guest ko, siya ang pinakasikat so siya ang last… Kasama ko din siya sa finale number,” he said.

According to Cabanero’s affidavit, she was with Navarro in his car at around midnight on that day.

Vice Ganda offers to help Ryan Bang on tax woes

MANILA, Philippines -- Comedian Vice Ganda expressed support to fellow "It's Showtime" host Ryan Bang, who is now facing tax evasion raps.

"Ryan always remember that you are special to me and I love you more than my boyfriend. Thanks for loving me like your real nanay. I will always be there for you. You may lose everything but you will never lose me and stop being jealous because I will never trade you for any guy. I love you baby. P.S. I will help you pay your utang to BIR because I love you. Love, Nanay Vice," Vice Ganda told Bang via the morning show "KrisTV."

Last month, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed tax evasion charges against Bang.

In a statement, the BIR said Bang did not file any income or percentage tax returns for 2010 and 2011, even though he received income from several companies, including ABS-CBN Corp., Summit Publishing and Studio 23.

Bang has vowed to resolve the issue with the BIR.

On Wednesday, the Korean host-comedian thanked Vice Ganda for his offfer.

"Siyempre Nanay Vice, I love you so much, alam na alam mo 'yon. Siyempre maraming salamat. Kahit anong problema dumarating sa akin, tumutulong ka sa akin. I love you so much alam mo yan," Bang said.

"KrisTV" host Kris Aquino also advised Bang to hire a good accountant to avoid any tax issues in the future.

Vice Ganda film meant for John Lapus?

MANILA, Philippines -- The role of Vice Ganda in an upcoming comedy film co-starring Maricel Soriano was originally intended for John Lapus, the former "The Buzz" host said.

"Sa tanong kung sa akin ba talaga ang project na 'Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy' — yes, para sa akin talaga 'yon," Lapus was quoted as saying by entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal.

According to Lapus, he had been preparing to take on the lead role in the Viva Films project when he was informed of the decision to tap Vice Ganda to star in the movie instead.

Lapus said the concept of the movie, which centers on quadruplets, entailed a long process of preparation, including losing weight and attending a one-on-one workshop with award-winning actress Eugene Domingo.

"Since solo launching movie ko ‘yan, nakiusap kami ng Star Magic sa Viva Films kung puwede paghandaan ko naman muna. Gusto din kasi ni Direk Wenn (Deramas) na magpapayat ako," he said.

The gay comedian said he also had other projects to attend at the time -- including the first movie of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla as a "love team," and the Kapamilya series "Kahit Konting Pagtingin".

"Gusto ko rin sana kasi pag ginawa ko ang Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy, 'yun lang ang ginagawa ko para maka-concentrate ako sa iisa lang... Ang maganda naman, pumayag ang Viva sa request namin ng Star Magic," he said.

However, Lapus said that while he was still busy preparing for the role, Deramas already had to start work on his next project after "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan". Filming for "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy" will reportedly start this month.

According to Lapus, this was the reason why Vice Ganda was given his role in "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy".

Lapus said Deramas had informed him of the replacement, and assured him that another project will be developed for him.

"Siyempre, wala naman akong magagawa since hindi pa ako mentally and physically prepared for ['Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy']... Eh, need na nga niyang (Deramas) mag-shooting talaga. Eh ako naman, magpi-prepare pa," Lapus said.

For the 39-year-old comedian, Vice Ganda's being chosen to replace him in the role is still reason to celebrate. He said he is happy that the "It's Showtime" host was given the project.

“Trabaho ‘yan. Walang personalan diyan. Masaya nga ako at sa kanya napunta 'yung project. Kasi 'yung role, pwede naman sa babae or lalaking artista since quadruplets nga. Dahil sa bakla ibinigay, it means na tagumpay na naman ito ng sangkabaklaan," Lapus said.

“Mabuhay ang mga bakla! Support ako diyan nang bongga! Alam ko na kakayanin ni Vice ‘yan," he said.

In an earlier interview with ABS-CBN News, Vice Ganda expressed excitement over the "dream-come-true" project. "Pinangarap ko 'to, pinagdasal ko 'tong pelikulang ito, kaya gagalingan ko," he said.

Vilma 'shocked' by Vice Ganda's 'Darna'

MANILA, Philippines -- Having portrayed Darna herself, veteran actress and politician Vilma Santos said she was awed by comedian Vice Ganda's take on the iconic Pinay superheroine in the hit comedy film "This Guy's In Love With You Mare."

"Talagang na-shock ako, nandoon po ako [sa pelikula], naka-Darna. Naka-Darna po ako doon. Congratulations, ang galing," Santos told ABS-CBN News after the premiere screening of the hit comedy flick.

The Wenn Deramas film, which premiered in theaters October 10, features a scene where Vice Ganda mimics Darna as she was portrayed by Santos in the 1970's.

"Sobrang enjoy, grabe, hindi nawala 'yung ngiti sa labi ko, atsaka 'yung enjoyment," said Santos, whose son, actor-host Luis Manzano, also stars in the film.

"But I guess ang pinaka-importante, may meaning po. Hindi po ito basta comedy. May redeeming factor, may message na gusto iparating," she added.

In "This Guy," Vice Ganda plays Lester, a gay man who feigns romantic interest in Gemma (Toni Gonzaga), to take revenge on her for "stealing" his boyfriend Mike (Manzano).

According to Star Cinema, the comedy flick earned an estimated P23 million on its first day in theaters alone.

"This Guy's in Love with You Mare" is Deramas' follow-up to the all-time highest-grossing local film "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin," which also starred Vice Ganda.

Vice Ganda on Kris: We're best of friends

MANILA, Philippines – Comedian-host Vice Ganda said he and Queen of All Media Kris Aquino have become "the best of friends."

The "It's Showtime" host said he foresees a good working relationship with Aquino since their relationship has grown considerably since they met.

"Okay kami kasi we're friends, actually were best of friends. Actually, asawa nga 'yung turingan naming dalawa, kaya hindi kami nahihiya.

"Hindi ako hesitant na loko-lokohin siya kasi malalim na 'yung pinagsamahan namin," Vice Ganda said during the Yahoo! OMG awards night on Friday.

The Comedian of the Year awardee is set to co-star with Aquino in Star Cinema's upcoming comedy film "Sisteraka," an official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival.

For Vice Ganda, making his debut in the annual film fest is a dream come true.

"[Oo, excited ako,] first film fest ko 'to eh. Noon pa 'yun eh, gusto ko makasakay ng float, 'yung mga simpleng ganoon," he said.

Before he starts shooting for the film fest bet, Vice Ganda said he will finish taping for her big-screen project co-starring actress Toni Gonzaga and actor-host Luis Manzano, titled "This Guy's In Love With You, Mare."

With high-profile projects already filling up his schedule until the year's end, is there anything more Vice Ganda can ask for?

"Marami pa namang kulang. Hindi naman ako perpektong tao, ang buhay ko ay 'di perpekto, ang daming kulang," he said.

"Pero hindi ko kasi iniisip kung ano ang kulang eh, ang iniisip ko kung ano ang natatanggap ko at kung ano mayroon ako ngayon, kasi mas marami 'yung blessings kaysa mga kulang na hinahanap ko."
