Amal Clooney pregnant with twins: family friend
Amal Clooney, the prominent Lebanese-British human rights lawyer and wife of American actor George, is pregnant with twins, a family friend said on Wednesday.
"She's pregnant with twins," the friend said, asking to remain anonymous and without providing any further details about the sexes of the babies or due date.
The 39-year-old rights lawyer and 55-year-old Hollywood star tied the knot in Venice in 2014.
Amal's clients include former Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Australian Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
After her wedding, she threw her legal clout and celebrity behind a series of high-profile cases including Britain's possible restitution of the Elgin Marbles to Greece.
She defended Al-Jazeera reporter Mohamed Fahmy after he was jailed in Egypt and was part of the legal team for former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed following his toppling in 2012.
She has also defended the cause of young Yazidi women who were abused by fighters of the Islamic State jihadist group.
Amal was born in Lebanon before her family moved to Britain when she was three years old.
Actor, director and producer George was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, before his role in hit television series "ER" propelled him to international stardom.

Filipino wins seat in city council in NJ
BERGENFIELD, NJ – An incumbent Democrat and his Filipino-American running mate, a political newcomer, won three-year-term seats in the Bergenfield Borough council Tuesday.
Immigration lawyer Arvin Amatorio received 2,947 or 30 percent of the total votes. Re-electionist Council President Chris Tully received 2,972 votes, also about 30 percent of the total votes cast.
The first time that a Filipino held a seat in the city council 18 years ago was Robert Rivas, who eventually became mayor.
"I’m so humbled by that result because the landslide victory means that the Filipino came united to send a message that we can elect a Filipino in this part of the State,” said Amatorio.
"A lot of that is just because of the excitement that Arvin brought to this ticket this year, and I’m telling you he is going to be a superstar, not only in Bergenfield, not only in Bergen County but in the State of New Jersey and I can’t wait for it," according to Tully.
The Tully-Amatorio campaign said this landslide victory would not have been possible without the "bayanihan" spirit of the Filipino community in Bergenfield.
Amatorio-Tully supporter Mike Florendo said, "I think today is one of those days that you’ll be very proud to be a Filipino. This is the first time I’ve seen people from Hudson County to Bergen County to help a fellow kababayan, so we’re so proud of our kababayans here".
Supporters of the Tully-Amatorio duo are planning to formalize and organize this Pinoy "bayanihan" spirit into a political action committee to help campaign for Fil-Am candidates seeking public office in the East Coast.
Community Leader Bert Aguilera said, "These are pro-bono. We are all volunteers who love to do this for Filipino-American candidates who will run for public office".

Defective Airbag Lawyer
A defective airbag lawyer is usually needed if a vehicle has got defective or faulty airbags that the dealers or cannot repair after several repair attempts. All the vehicles should be equipped with airbags as they are an important safety feature in any vehicle. For a vehicle to have a high car safety rating, it should have front, side, curtain and knee airbags. Airbags may either save people’s lives or at least prevent them from serious injuries such as broken bones, head and neck injuries and so on.
Unfortunately, airbags may not only save lives but also cause serious injuries and even fatalities if they are not properly designed. A defective airbag is a real safety hazard for any vehicle.
The thing is that there may be several ways for an airbag to be defective. There may be problems connected with the following factors:
Manufacturer design
The actual production of the airbag
The installation of the airbag
Some examples of airbag failure may be when the airbag deploys with too much force, or when it deploys too slowly, or when it deploys at a wrong angle or does not deploy when it should have deployed, or when the airbag deploys suddenly and without any need, hitting the occupant and most likely injuring them.
When a car owner finds out that his/her vehicle has got problems connected with defective airbags, then they should contact a defective airbag lawyer as soon as possible in order to sue the manufacturer. If you or a loved one has suffered an injury due to a defective airbag, then you should contact The Margarian Law Firm for legal help.
Mr. Margarian will provide you with a free case evaluation and see whether your vehicle may be covered under California Lemon Law or not. If yes, the Lemon lawyer will work for you on a contingency fee basis which means that you will not have to pay the attorney’s fees to the attorney for the legal help. All the money will be collected from the manufacturer if your attorney wins the case for you. If the case is not won, this time, again, you will not have to pay any money to anybody. You can contact The Margarian Law Firm at (818) 869-2170 for more information.

Bar topnotcher mixes law and football
MANILA - Ignatius Michael "Mickey" D. Ingles was a member of the Ateneo de Manila University’s Football Team, the three-peat champs from 2004 to 2006. Today, he is a hotshot lawyer, topping even the Bar exams that saw only 17.76% of the examinees pass.
Ingles is proof that brains and brawn go well together.
In an interview with ANC, Ingles said his was a story of “balance and sacrifice.” It was only when he went to law school that he had to focus more on his studies.
He said playing football at his spare time was only to show a “semblance of what [I was before].”
Football may have become a breather of sorts, especially since the 2012 Bar exam is supposedly one of the hardest of all Bar exams in history. Nine hundred forty nine (949) examinees out of a total of 5,343 bar takers passed, constituting 17% of the total examinees. An original 5,686 were admitted to take the Bar but only 5,343 completed the four-Sunday examinations.
In 2011, 31.95% passed. The previous year, only 20.26% passed.
Deputy Clerk of Court and Bar Confidant Atty. Ma. Cristina B. Layusa earlier said that each exam for 2012 consisted of a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) portion and an essay portion.
The MCQ portion had a weight of 60%, while the essay exam part had a weight of 40%. There was also a performance test (trial memorandum) in the afternoon of the last Sunday of the exams.
Ingles said of the 2012 Bar exam: “It was hard. It wasn’t only the MCQ that we had to deal with. We also have 40% essay. It was like we were taking two exams in a span of three to four hours.”
He said not everyone in Ateneo Law passed the Bar. “I was hoping Ateneo would go for 100% and that more people would have passed.”
“It was very hard, it was very long.”
He said he did not expect to top the Bar. “I just wanted to do my best and prepare…so that after, I wouldn't have any regrets.”
Ingles said that this time, football will take a back seat.
“I’m set on practicing law…I will concentrate on law,” he said.
Asked for his advice for law students, he said they have to prepare as early as their first year in law school.

Katie Holmes Visits Her Divorce Lawyer

Katie Holmes paid a visit Friday to the high-powered New York law firm representing her in the divorce from Tom Cruise.
Casually dressed in white jeans and a yellow top, the actress, 33, arrived with four bodyguards in a Mercedes with black-tinted windows about 11:30 a.m. at the midtown Manhattan building housing the offices of Aronson, Mayefsky and Sloan.
Daughter Suri, 6, was not with her, observers say.
The visit comes after Cruise attorney Bert Fields spoke out to the BBC about the possible next steps for the 50-year-old superstar.
"Tactically we can't say where Tom will file a divorce case and if he'll be seeking joint custody of Suri," said Fields.
"We are letting 'the other side' play the media until they wear everyone out and then we'll have something to say," added Fields.
The divorce case involves legal heavyweights on both coasts.
Holmes's attorneys Allan Mayefsky and his partner Michael Mosberg work for the firm that represented Peter Cook in his bitter 2008 divorce from Christie Brinkley. Their co-counsel, Jonathan Wolfe of Skoloff & Wolfe in Livingston, N.J., has handled the divorces of football star Braylon Edwards and NHL player Martin Brodeur.
Fields is a longtime Cruise business lawyer in Los Angeles with a host of celebrity clients. The actor's lead divorce lawyer, Dennis Wasser, is another prominent Hollywood attorney who represented Cruise in his divorce from Nicole Kidman.
