Vina proud of Shaina's effort to move on

MANILA, Philippines - Singer-actress Vina Morales is proud her sister Shaina Magdayao is already moving on, months after her breakup with actor John Lloyd Cruz.

"She's moving on. Nakita mo naman yung glow niya na happy siya. Yun ang gusto ko na makita sa kanya. Ayaw ko na malungkot siya, ayaw kong malungkot siya," Morales said without directly mentioning Cruz.

Morales also said her sister has matured since her latest heartbreak.

"She really matured a lot and I'm proud of her kasi nakita ko 'yung changes, kung paano siya mag-decide ngayon," Morales told reporters.

Morales believes Magdayao's decision to go on a European tour helped her sister.

"Sabi ko nga sa kanya, 'Shaina magma-madre ka na ba?' Kasi devoted siya kay Father Pio and there's nothing wrong if she keeps on praying to keep her strong. Lahat naman tayo wala tayong tatakbuhan kung talagang medyo nagiging weak tayo kung hindi si Lord lang naman. That's what I see in her," she said.

"I'm really happy for her na nagkaroon ng enlightenment, ng peace of mind," Morales added.

Is Shaina now going out with Gerald?

MANILA, Philippines – Singer Vina Morales doesn't see any problem if rumors are indeed true that her younger sister Shaina Magdayao is now going out with actor Gerald Anderson.

Morales said this will not pose any conflict since both Magdayao and Anderson are currently not committed to anyone.

“I don’t mind. He’s single, so bakit hindi? If they like each other, why not?” Morales told “The Buzz” in an interview on Sunday.

She also shared her thoughts about Magdayao being linked to several men following the young actress’ breakup with actor John Lloyd Cruz last May.

Aside from Anderson, Magdayao is also being linked to rocker Rico Blanco and actor Diether Ocampo.

“Normal lang kasi single naman siya eh. Pero nothing serious. I don’t think she is ready for a serious commitment,” she said.

Meanwhile, Magdayao herself told the Philippine Entertainment Portal that there is nothing romantic going on between her and Anderson.

“Si Gerald naman, never kaming lumabas but magkaibigan kami. Nag-uusap kami na walang awkwardness. Bakit naman ako mao-awkward kung wala namang nangyayari, ‘di ba?” she said.

Magdayao added she does not even have Anderson’s number.

The actress said she is also surprised that a lot of names are being linked to her after her breakup with Cruz.

“Naloloka ako kasi mula nang maging single ako, nili-link na nila ako sa kung sinu-sino. Eh bahala kayo kung kanino ninyo ako i-link. Ano ang magagawa ko? Single ako at lahat kaibigan ko, in fairness,” she said.

“The people I get to talk, to know, now, 'yung mga lalaking nakakausap ko, 'yung mga bagong kaibigan kong artista—men. Ako naman, I’ve been very honest na I’m not yet ready… so let’s all be friends,” she added.

John Lloyd Admits Wooing Back Shaina

MANILA, Philippines — Who wouldn’t feel so lucky to have a proud boyfriend like John Lloyd Cruz, who publicly declares “Si Shaina Magdayao po ang girlfriend ko ngayon”?

The “Unofficially Yours” actor said so in a live interview aired over DZMM’s “Rated Korina” on Feb. 21.

Upon hearing this, host Korina Sanchez opined that Shaina is lucky to have the actor as a boyfriend.

To this, John Lloyd disagreed. “Ako po ang suwerte,” he said.

Being officially back together as a couple, John Lloyd recalled how his relationship with Shaina “re-started.” Recall that the two kapamilya stars decided to part ways November of last year to “fix personal issues” not only as a couple but also as individuals.

“Madami ang nagtatanong noon so once and for all sinagot naman namin ‘yon bago kami naghiwalay ng landas. May mga bagay na kailangang i-settle individually so inayos muna namin ‘yon. At noong naayos na ‘yon [niligawan ko ulit si Shaina],” he shared.

And now that they are better than ever according to John Lloyd, he hopes to do things with Shaina like any other couple. Earlier, John Lloyd said that he plans to go on a vacation with the actress and her family.

At 28, John Lloyd said that settling down is still out of his plans. Ideal marrying age for the actor is from 33 to 35 years old. “Ideally ganoon pero kagaya ng pwedeng mangyari sa buhay, hindi mo masabi baka bukas or later on,” he added.

He also noted that marrying Shaina will not likely to happen anytime soon because “marami pa kaming gustong ma-achieve individually.”

Aiming For ‘A Quality Life’

In the same interview, John Lloyd said that his being a workaholic has much to do with what he aims for the future.

“Wala naman talaga akong malaking bagay na pinagha-handaan in the future except na gusto ko lang ma-achieve ‘yung quality of life na napi-picture ko for myself. Yung pwedeng nagta-trabaho pa din ako dito [sa showbiz] pero may luxury of choice na hindi naman kailangang gabi-gabi magpuyat. Kung baga ganoon lang so I can live comfortably with my family,” he said.

While his current rom-com starrer with Angel Locsin “Unofficially Yours” is making it big at the box-office, John Lloyd is set to reunite with Sarah Geronimo in another film. He is also poised to do a teleserye with former “I Love Betty La Fea” leading lady Bea Alonzo.
