LOOK: John Lloyd thanks Ellen in 'baduy' post
The two have yet to admit the status of their relationship, but John Lloyd Cruz and Ellen Adarna are obviously close to each other.
In his latest Instagram post, Cruz posted a photo of the two of them, with Adarna kissing him on the cheek.
In the caption, Cruz wrote: "This girl really did something good to my soul. I'll always be grateful."
The two are widely rumored to be dating following a series of posts on Adarna's account.
Last Wednesday, Adarna posted another sweet photo of her cuddling with his "Home Sweetie Home" co-star, apparently taken during their recent Cebu getaway.
It came a day after she called Cruz "baby love" in another post, and after shrugging off critics of their close relationship by sharing that they bonded over art therapy.
Cruz and Adarna have been the center of relationship rumors for weeks now. It began after their much-talked Bantayan island trip.
Adarna has previously gone on the record to say that both of them are not yet ready to enter into a new romance.
Cruz's last relationship was with Angelica Panganiban, which ended in 2016. Adarna, on the other hand, broke up with her boyfriend, Sebastian "Baste" Duterte, back in December.

What John Lloyd thinks of Angelica's acting skills
MANILA - Actor John Lloyd Cruz shared his thoughts about his girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban, who recently won Best Actress from the Gawad Tanglaw.
Panganiban won the award in a tie with her idol, veteran actress Nora Aunor, for her performance in the romantic film "That Thing Called Tadhana." Aunor, on the other hand, starred in the horror movie "Dementia."
Referring to Panganiban's performance in "Tadhana," Cruz said: "Grabe, hindi ba? Ang galing kasi kahit sa ganoong scale, sa ganoong attempt, 'yung talent talagang nagsha-shine. Kahit gawin mo sa ganoong scale, if it's meant to shine, in that sense parang hindi mo siya mapipigilan. Kaya sobra akong happy [para sa kanya]."
He went on to describe his girlfriend's acting skills.
"Kilala ko siya as an artist, very organic, very truthful sa dedication at sa craft niya. Alam mo kung paano siya magtrabaho so I couldn't be more proud," he said.
Meanwhile, Cruz also praised Panganiban's portrayal of Claudia Buenavista, which was originally played by Jean Garcia, in ABS-CBN's remake of the hit series "Pangako Sa 'Yo."
While he only saw the teaser for the remake starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Cruz said: "Nakita ko 'yung trailer nila ni Jodi Sta. Maria. Very powerful. Kilala ko rin si Jodi as an artist. I think malaki 'yung masasandalan nung team-up nila Daniel at Kathryn. Parang maganda 'yung presence ng dalawa para sa kanila."

Drunk Anne Curtis slaps John Lloyd Cruz
MANILA – Anne Curtis was reportedly involved in an embarrassing confrontation with John Lloyd Cruz where she slapped the actor and two others at a bar in The Fort, Taguig.
In an article published on entertainment site Pep.ph, JR Isaac, editor and publisher of Circuit Magazine, narrated to Pep editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon how the incident unfolded last November 23.
Describing it as a typical Friday night, Isaac said he was then hanging out with his friends Leah de Guzman, Charina Zarte, Nix Alano, Phoemela Barranda, Jake Cuenca, and Cruz at the Privé Luxury Club along with the bar's co-owner JM Rodriguez.
Isaac said Curtis was also at the place hosting a bachelorette party for a friend.
While waiting for his drink along with de Guzman near the bar, they heard someone shouting from behind.
“We heard a loud voice saying, 'Who's banging my door?' We didn't know who or where it was at first! Just loud, coming from behind us. When we turned around, we saw, stepping out of the toilet, Anne, very mad,” he said.
Isaac said Curtis then slapped him on the face, as well as de Guzman and Cruz. He even recounted Curtis calling Cruz an addict.
"This all happened so fast. Anne was making so much noise, shouting at JL: 'You are an addict!' Ang bilis, di ko na alam ang nangyayari. Basta wala akong narinig from JL, he behaved like a gentleman. Makikita mo talaga kung sino yung well-mannered pag may ganyan,” he said.
Isaac said Curtis then turned to Barranda. "Anne screamed, with finger pointing at Phoem the whole time, like she pointed it at JL. She had all this rage, she was agit.”
He added, "Anne screamed, with finger pointing at Phoem Barranda, saying, 'I can buy you, your friends, and this club!'”
Saying things happened so fast, Isaac recalled being ushered by the bouncers away from the drunk “It’s Showtime” host.
"The management and [club] PR all came to our table and apologized to us. They saw the whole thing. They know we were the ones slapped. In the end, we stayed. We didn't allow it to ruin our night,” he said.
Anne apologizes
On the afternoon of November 23, Isaac recalled receiving a text message from an apologetic Curtis.
The text message went: “"JR! It's Anne. Got your number from Monique! Tried messaging you on Facebook this morning. Just want to apologize for my behavior! I'm so so so sorry. I'm so ashamed. Would never act like that in the right state of mind! I'm so sorry. Please forgive me!"
To which, Isaac responded: "Hi Anne, just woke up and read your text. Apology accepted... On a lighter note, you owe me a tight hug!!! Going back to sleep, nursing my hang over."
According to Isaac, he harbors no ill feelings toward Curtis because he has known the actress since way back.
Meanwhile, Curtis took to micro-blogging site Twitter to address the controversy.
With over five million followers, Curtis said she “owe[s] all of you my honesty.”
“I choose to do this right away because I've always been an open book & I don't like to hide anything...
For those who have read about the issue, yes, most of it is true. I admit to that & I have apologized to all parties included immediately,” she said.
“When I was told of my behavior AND the person who started all of this, due to this persons inappropriate behavior, apologized to me too… Just as I did. Which I accepted too. I choose not to go into detail because I'm not the type to ruin someone else's name,” she added.
Noting what she has learned from the incident, Curtis said: “Now.. I had been on the super popular juice cleanse for 3 days & attended my best friends bachelorette [party] that night, had one too many drinks which led to some of these unfortunate events. That's why they say 'Drink in moderation'. I will charge it to experience & a lesson learned.”
The actress also apologized to her fans for what she has done.
“I'm sorry if I let any of my fans down.... As you all see, I'm just like any other person that makes mistakes in life,” she said.
Putting an end to the issue, Curtis said she will not speak of the matter anymore.

Sarah-John Lloyd film earns P32.6M on first day
MANILA, Philippines – The final installment in the series of films starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo earned at least P32.6 million on its first day of release in theaters nationwide on Black Saturday.
“P32.6M first day opening gross for It Takes A Man and A Woman! Congratulations everyone!! To God be the Glory,” Mico del Rosario, advertising and promotions manager of Star Cinema, announced on his official Twitter account on Sunday.
The opening-day take of “It Takes A Man and A Woman” blasted the first-day numbers of Cruz’s last movie “The Mistress,” which grossed P23 million when it opened in September last year.
However, this is shy by around P8 million compared to the first-day earnings of the MMFF entry "Sisterakas," which is the highest grossing local movie of all time.
In the Cathy Garcia-Molina-directed film, Miggy (Cruz) and Laida (Geronimo) try co-exist in the same company after breaking up over a character portrayed by actress Isabelle Daza.
Now with more experience and a "fiercer" attitude after spending years in the United States, the returning Laida even challenges Miggy, her former employer, in his business decisions.
The set-up later proves challenging for the former couple to withstand, making it difficult for them to finally come up with a "happy ending."
With the first two movies among the highest grossing local films of all time, "It Takes a Man and a Woman" is expected to replicate the success of "A Very Special Love" and "You Changed My Life."
"A Very Special Love," released in 2008, made P179.3 million, while "You Changed My Life," released in 2009, earned P225.2 million during its theatrical run.

Angelica details breakup with Derek
MANILA, Philippines -- Angelica Panganiban's six-year relationship with Derek Ramsay ended over the phone.
In an interview in the April 2013 issue of entertainment magazine StarStudio, the 26-year-old Kapamilya actress recalled the day when the model-actor allegedly broke up with her after years of unresolved conflicts.
According to Panganiban, Ramsay was in Boracay for a professional commitment and vacation when they had an argument over the phone some time in February 2012.
The actress related that in the heat of their argument, Ramsay suddenly asked her: "Ano ba'ng nararamdaman mo?"
Panganiban recalled saying that she prefers addressing the question personally, once he gets back from vacation, but Ramsay pushed for an answer.
"Wala. Wala na 'kong nararamdaman," she responded.
Ramsay's only answer, according to Panganiban was: "Okay, it's over."
In the years leading up to their separation, the former celebrity couple had to grapple with several problems that later proved difficult to handle.
Among them, Panganiban related in detail to StarStudio, were three major conflicts -- Ramsay's being allegedly a controlling boyfriend, his supposed lack of support for the actress' mission to find her biological father, and his reported marriage to a certain Mary Christine Jolly in 2002.
On the set of the romantic-comedy movie "Every Breath U Take," which she was filming at the time of the breakup, Panganiban said she cried uncontrollably.
"Hindi ko alam kung naiiyak ako dahil nasabi ko siya. Yes, para talaga akong nakatakas, ganoon 'yung pakiramdam ko, pero at the same time, angsakit-sakit. Hindi ko alam kung tama, kung kaya ko panindigan," she said.
The following day, Panganiban recalled, she moved out her things from the house she had shared with Ramsay for five years, with the help of her mother Annabelle.
When Ramsay learned that the actress had already picked up her belongings from their shared home, the actor, Panganiban recalled, messaged her: "Let's fix this."
But for Panganiban, the breakup was a way of finally being set free. Refusing her former boyfriend's plea, she told herself: "Hindi, may way out ka na, nakalabas ka na. Huwag ka nang bumalik."
Ramsay confirmed his separation from Panganiban in May 2012.
In the April 2013 issue of StarStudio, out in newsstands now, Paganiban also retraces her beginnings as an actress after 20 years in the industry. She also recalls her romance with former boyfriend Carlo Aquino, and opens up on her relationship with current partner John Lloyd Cruz.

John Lloyd mulls 'early retirement' from showbiz
MANILA – Actor John Lloyd Cruz admitted he is considering taking an "early retirement" so he could spend more “quality life” with his family and would-be family.
During the press conference of his upcoming movie “It Takes A Man and A Woman” on Sunday, Cruz said he wants to spend more time with his loved ones – something he could not at the moment because of his hectic schedule.
“I’m thinking of early retirement. Gusto kong ma-enjoy ang buhay ko kasama ang magiging pamilya ko. I want to spend more years and quality life with my family and would-be family,” he said.
“It’s basically all about achieving quality in life. When you are in this business, talagang medyo toxic. Kung kakayanin na to have an early retirement and enjoy more quality time with my family, with my mom especially, with my love ones,” he added.
Cruz said part of this decision is making better choices when it comes to projects.
“Siguro kapag dumating 'yun, on the side, pili tayo ng mga projects. Kung mayroon tayong ganoong privilege, ‘yun sana ang magawa ko,” he said.
But at what age does he see this happening?
“Hindi ko pa masabi kung anong edad. Hindi naman age mo ang magdi-dictate noon. Kapag dumating na siya at naramdaman mo na, baka puwede na. Mahirap magbigay ng edad,” he explained.
Cruz just finished shooting his third movie with Sarah Geronimo, “It Takes A Man and A Woman,” which is set to be shown in theaters nationwide on March 30.
Prior to this, Cruz had a movie ("The Mistress" and a television series ("A Beautiful Affair") with Bea Alonzo, as part of their love team's anniversary celebration.

Angelica did not tell John Lloyd about love scenes
MANILA, Philippines – Actress Angelica Panganiban did not feel the need tell her boyfriend, actor John Lloyd Cruz, about her love scenes with actor Dingdong Dantes in the movie “One More Try.”
In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Panganiban said she does not want Cruz to worry about her as he is also busy at work.
“Unang una, hindi ko naman po sinasabi sa kanya na [intimate scenes] ang kukunan namin today. Siyempre ayaw mo naman na may iniisip siyang ganun habang nagtatrabaho rin naman ho siya,” she explained.
Panganiban considers “One More Try” her most daring movie to date.
“Yes, so far [ito ang pinakamapangahas]. Siya yung pinakamalalim, ito yung pinakakritikal na gawin, masyadong maselan yung pelikula,” she said.
Despite this, the actress said she and Dantes did not feel awkward while doing their love scenes.
“Sabi nga ni Dingdong kanina, simula February pa lang, nakukuwento na po sa amin ang movie so buong taon na po namin parang pinoproseso ang pelikula so ganun na rin kahaba yung naging pinagsamahan naming lahat,” she said.
Apart from her scenes with Dantes, Panganiban said moviegoers should also watch out for her confrontation scene with actress Angel Locsin.
“Imposible ho ‘yung 'di madadala sa eksena kasi parang 'pag nag-control ka, baka ho sumablay at makikita ho iyon ng tao, parang ‘di totoo ‘yung sampal. Hindi ho siguro magandang term ‘yung nadala. Parang ibinigay lang ho namin [ni Angel] parehas kung ano ‘yung hinihingi sa amin,” she said.
“One More Try” is one of Star Cinema’s entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. It will be shown in theaters nationwide beginning December 25.

Masasabi kong okay ako ngayon, mas kumpleto ang pakiramdam ko dahil may taong nagpapasaya sa akin at nagpaparamdaman sa akinat nagpupuno ng mga nawala sa akin," she said.

John Lloyd open to do 'butt exposure' scene

MANILA, Philippines – John Lloyd Cruz may have incredulously thrown his head back in mirth over the notion that he’d be taking more “daring” roles from here on, but he didn’t completely rule out leaving little to the audience’s imagination, if need be.
“Daring parang nakakadiri naman ‘yun,” Cruz said in jest to Bulletin Entertainment and other members of the press during Biogesic’s Thanksgiving Lunch for the success of the actor’s film “Unofficially Yours.”
Cruz, whose most recent blockbuster offering with Angel Locsin has been dubbed as his “sexiest” film to date, said that he’s still not too keen in shedding off his wholesome reputation.
“Ang intention naman sa akin ‘eh hindi para ipakita na maganda ‘yung katawan mo, hindi ‘eh. Kaya lang ‘yun talaga ‘yung hinihingi nung eksena so binigay ‘ko lang,” explained the 28-year-old star.
“And ‘yung sa sinasabi nila na magpapa-sexy ka na ba kasi nagpa-sexy ka ngayon, hindi ‘yun ang intention no’n,” he clarified.
Having suggested that he "delivers" whatever a film requires every time, Cruz was asked if he'd be comfortable doing a "butt exposure" scene for a film in the future.
To this he replied, “Siguro kung kailangan. Kasi parang you wouldn’t want to do something for the sake of doing it ‘di ba? Kailangan mo ng tamang motivation ‘eh para magawa mo ito ‘eh, otherwise, magmumukha siyang [pilit] na parang ‘bakit mo ginawa ‘yun? Para saan? Anung sense, ‘di ba?’ So ‘yun ang gusto mong i-avoid.”
So, that's something to hold on to for the fans of the rom-com superstar that, in due time and with a promising script, he could star in a sizzling sequence and bare his behind a la Derek Ramsay in the 2011 blockbuster film “No Other Woman.”
