WATCH: Hayden Kho shares favorite moments with daughter

MANILA – Hayden Kho is one proud father as he opened up about his favorite moments with Scarlet Snow, his daughter with fellow celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.

In an interview with SmartParenting.com.ph, Kho said he is always involved in Scarlet Snow’s various activities for the week – reading class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, swimming class every Wednesday, gymnastics every Friday, and music class every Saturday.

“I always try to catch her early in the morning, paggising na paggising. That’s her best mood, ‘pag bagong gising siya. We read books together. We’re really trying to make her love books,” he said.

“Bathing time is one of our favorites. But in all her activities, I’m always involved,” he added, noting that he still accompanies his daughter in the pool even if he does not know how to swim.

But out of all his moments with Scarlet Snow, Kho said putting her to sleep is his favorite moment: “My favorite is ‘yung pagpapatulog. Whenever she falls asleep on my shoulders, champion!”

“Ang hirap kaya! Ang hirap magpatulog ng baby. ‘Pag nakatulog ‘yan [sa ‘yo] parang you want to celebrate. You want to shout. Kaso tulog,” he said in jest.

In another video uploaded by SmartParenting.com.ph, Kho recalled the day Scarlet Snow was born.

He said his experience as an intern at a hospital in Manila helped him prepare for the arrival of his baby with Belo which was born through surrogacy.

Vicki, Hayden 'unofficially' together again

MANILA, Philippines – Celebrity doctor Vicki Belo and former boyfriend, doctor-turned-actor Hayden Kho are “unofficially” together again, according to a report published on Sunday.

In an interview with Kapamilya talent Bianca Gonzalez for her column in the Philippine Star, Belo also said she “sincerely” loves Kho.

“I don’t know if we’ll be together but I know that I really love him sincerely,” Belo told Gonzalez. “Now he’s so strong. If I left his life today, he would be really okay.”

The controversial couple split up in February last year amid rumors of an alleged romance between Kho and former actress Nancy Castiliogne, who were reportedly seen kissing at a bar in Taguig.

At the time Belo, in a statement, said she was letting Kho go, so he won't have to "hide" his romance with Castiglione.

Castiglione, who is married and with children of her own, at the time, vehemently denied any involvement with Kho.

But early this year, Belo and Kho have been seen together in public several times.

In the interview, Belo didn’t mention Castiliogne but discussed another controversy involving Kho – the video sex scandal involving actress Katrina Halili in 2009.

Asked how she got over the scandal, Belo said: “I don’t know! I think because he told me the truth and he told me ahead of everyone. I think because I understand how it happened and why it happened.”

“But what has changed is it’s not anymore ‘Oh, he’s so wonderful and good.’ Now I get it, it (cheating) is gonna happen. And so far it’s been very light. …I haven’t forgiven him to the level that ‘I’m so in love with you and I’m gonna trust you again.’ It’s more like, ‘I’m watching you,’” Belo explained.

Belo also recalled Kho’s suicide attempt after the video scandal. “I thought he was gonna die, I was praying so hard,” she said.

“I actually feel guilty. When I met Hayden he was such a nerd. We started to go out and it was very quiet, then it came out and became so controversial. I found it unfair,” she added.

Belo, 57, also defended Kho, saying the 32-year-old Kho isn’t merely her “boytoy.”

“For me Hayden wasn’t pipitsugin! At 25, he was a doctor, was Mr. UST, varsity basketball, model; then he goes into my world and he’s the ‘boytoy’ of Vicki Belo. Teka muna, why are you looking at him like that?” she told Gonzalez.

Cristalle Heneras now being linked to Derek

MANILA, Philippines – Celebrity doctor Vicki Belo has no problem about actor Derek Ramsay being romantically linked to her daughter, Cristalle Henares.

But Belo maintained that Henares and Ramsay share nothing but a close friendship.

“They’re both very athletic so they hang out together. Pero wala namang yatang romance sa pagkakaalam ko. Baka may secret, hindi ko alam,” she said.

Henares also denied that she has a romantic relationship with the actor, saying she is just close to Ramsay’s family.

“As a matter of fact, nung new year pumunta kami sa Bukidnon together with his family, tapos nag-Palawan kami last month. Pero nothing more than a sister talaga,” she said.

Another reason they always see each other is because Ramsay is an endorser of the Belo Sun Expert, Henares pointed out.

“Derek and I have been working together also dahil siya din ang isang endorser namin. Baka naisip lang ng tao na baka may nangyayari kasi parati kaming nagkikita, pero wala talaga,” she said.

Asked for a message to those who see something more to their closeness, Henares said: “Hindi naman ako showbiz, hindi naman ako sanay dito. At least sa amin, between us, we know the truth. There’s nothing wrong being linked to each other, pareho naman kaming single, ‘di ba? Wala namang naapektuhan na iba.”

Henares used to be in a relationship with Azkals defender Jason Sabio. Ramsay, on the other hand, has been linked to actress Cristine Reyes after his break-up with actress Angelica Panganiban.

Belo apologizes for skin whitening ads

MANILA, Philippines -- The Belo Medical Group apologized late on Sunday after its advertising campaign for Belo Men drew flak for supposedly "racist" undertones.

To launch a line of skin whitening products, Belo Men recently unveiled a series of advertisements, including one which has the caption "10% lighter. 100% more sosyal," with the young man throwing his car keys to a valet.

Facebook users posted negative comments about the ads on Belo Men's page on the popular social networking site.

"If a lot of people are getting offended about it, we apologize about that. But it wasn't our intention," Belo's daughter Cristalle Henares said in an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com on Sunday night.

"And it's not really about the sosyal. That was just the execution. The idea behind it is as they get whiter, they became more confident," she explained.

Belo added that in her 22 years of medical practice, she noticed that skin whitening is the most popular procedure asked by their customers.

"And men have always been looking for something for them," she said.

This is why Belo came out with a whitening product specifically for men.

"They don't want to be really white but they just want to be fairer kasi sabi nila parang mas clear ang complexion, parang they feel more confident. So I told Cristalle before pa na i think you need to make a whitening product for men, for them lang talaga," the doctor said.

"I gave in to what they want. That's (skin whitening) the No. 1 talaga na hinihingi sa clinic, both men and women," she added.

Henares added that Belo Men as a brand has a more humorous personality -- which she said was reflected in the series of ads.

The other executions are: "10% lighter. 100% approved," with an elderly man showing off his future son-in-law to his golf buddies; and "10% lighter. 100% more numbers," with a guy surrounded by three sexy girls, holding their cellphones.

"These are just ways to make the subject a little lighter because men are medyo nahihiya sila about the topic. But from what we know in the clinic, that's really what they want to happen. ...Para hindi siya diretso, we had to make it a little more humorous," Henares said.

Henares also said the campaign was planned before the launch of Bayo's much-maligned "What's your mix" campaign, which has since been discontinued after it was heavily criticized for being racist.

"Actually it was planned before the whole Bayo thing happened. Nagkataon lang na medyo sabay ang launch namin. And when the Bayo thing happened, we said, 'Oh no, because of the percentages, people might think that they have the same connotation. So when the Bayo thing happened, we said why don't we lay low for now. So we put it down first sa Facebook. And we released it in just one magazine, which is FHM," she explained.

But with the negative reaction on social media, Henares said they will decide on what to do with the campaign.

"If we feel that it's a sensitive topic right now, we're going to park it a bit and see where it goes," Henares said.

Vicki Belo addresses rumors linking her to yoga coach

MANILA, Philippines – Dr. Vicki Belo has belied allegations romantically linking her to a Bikram yoga trainer.

Speaking in a live TV guesting on “Kris TV” with fiancĂ© Hayden Kho, Jr. Tuesday morning, as quoted in a report on abs-cbnnews.com, Vicki clarified that coach Al Yogo is only “good friends” with her and daughter Cristalle.

The “doctor to the stars” claimed that Al is her “idol” because “ang galing niya mag-Bikram.”

“May-ari siya ng Greenhills Studio na Bikram. So since I'm so frustrated, usually kasi I'm so good with what I do pero sa Bikram pinaka-bano ako sa balat ng lupa. As in tatlong taon na ako'ng gumagawa ng Bikram [pero] hindi pa din ako maka-balanse.

“So of course may private class and since kaibigan siya ni Cristalle, 'yon nasa bahay palagi, pero okay sila,” she explained at length, referring to Hayden who admitted getting jealous of Al once because of the letter he sent the doctor.

“Nagtuturo ng yoga with love letter...I was so mad at that time... excuse me it's a love letter,” Hayden said.

The abs-cbnnews.com report also stated that the couple, who was engaged on December 2010 in the US, is “already prepared to tie the knot soon” and is only “waiting for the right time.”

In October last year, Vicki said in an interview that they’re eyeing a wedding date in 2012, and that she already has a choice of wedding gowns.

Charice undergoes cosmetic fix for 'Glee'

Filipino singing sensation Charice Pempengco has had noninvasive cosmetic procedures in preparation for her debut in the second season of the hit TV show "Glee."

The 18-year-old Charice, whose singing career rocketed after appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' and Oprah Winfrey's shows, underwent a 30-minute Thermage procedure, involving an anti-aging skin tightening device, and Botox treatment to make her "naturally round face" more narrow, celebrity cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo told ABS-CBN television.

Charice, in the same interview, said last week's face makeover was part of her big preparations "to look fresh on camera" for the Fox show "Glee."

"All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure," Charice said.

In an earlier TV interview, she said she auditioned for "Glee" in mid-June in Los Angeles and was thankful to have been accepted.

"It's really a blessing," she said, adding she was "very proud to be an Asian, very proud to be Filipino."

Charice said she'll start filming at the end of July.

Born Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco and raised with her brother by a single mother, she sang in local contests and appeared on TV talent shows in the Philippines and South Korea before she got a big break on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" at age 15.

She later appeared several times on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" and credits Winfrey for helping push her career. — AP
