MANILA – Sunshine Cruz and her boyfriend, businessman Ismael "Macky" Mathay, are celebrating their first year as a couple.

On Monday, the 40-year-old actress took to Instagram to share her anniversary greeting for Mathay.

In the caption, Cruz thanked Mathay for "being there not just for me but also for the girls."

"You are a wonderful person my Macky and I will always be here to support you in all of your endeavors," she said.

Mathay is the half-brother of Cruz's friend, Ara Mina.

Cruz is separated from her husband Cesar Montano. She has already filed an annulment case against the actor, with whom she has three children.

After one month, Derek, Cristine break up?

MANILA – Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes are both mum on rumors that they have already called it quits after just a little over a month into their relationship.

Speculations about the breakup began circulating online after Ramsay changed his Instagram username from “kingderekramsay” to “kidlatramsay11.”

Meanwhile, from the username @QueenCKRamsay, Reyes is now using the Twitter name @AwesomeQueenCk.

While Ramsay has now kept his image-sharing account private, Reyes, for her part, has not posted any picture with the actor in the past few days.

Reyes and Ramsay became a couple last August 28.

Prior to their relationship, the two first were tapped to play a married couple in the romance-drama film "No Other Woman" in 2011. At the time, Reyes and Ramsay were still with their respective partners.

It was only only in January 2013 that Reyes and actor-dancer Rayver Cruz made a televised announcement of their separation, which happened the previous year.

Ramsay and actress Angelica Panganiban, on the other hand, broke up in February 2012.

Since Reyes' separation from Cruz, the actress and Ramsay have been romantically linked. While the two admitted that they frequently go out, they maintained they were only friends.

The two said becoming a couple came unexpectedly for them as they had intended to be only good friends.

Singer Fergie, actor Josh Duhamel welcome first child

LOS ANGELES - Fergie, the singer of pop-rap group the Black Eyed Peas, gave birth to a boy in Los Angeles on Thursday, a representative for her actor-husband Josh Duhamel said.

The baby, named Axl Jack Duhamel, weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces (3.5 kg), Duhamel spokeswoman Ruth Bernstein said.

It is the first child for both Fergie, who recently changed her first name from Stacy to her stage name, and Duhamel.

Fergie, 38, rose to prominence when her addition to the Black Eyed Peas lineup coincided with a string of breakout hits for the group from their 2003 album "Elephunk."

Her 2006 solo album, "The Dutchess," scored three No. 1 hits in the United States.

Duhamel, 40, is best known for his roles in the "Transformers" film franchise and romantic comedies "Safe Haven" and "New Year's Eve."

The couple married in 2009.

Cristine Reyes, Derek Ramsay now a couple

MANILA -- After years of "going out as friends," Cristine Reyes and Derek Ramsay became a couple on August 28.

The 36-year-old actor confirmed the news, as quoted in a report published Thursday on entertainment news site Yahoo! OMG. Ramsay said he and Reyes agreed to admit the relationship if asked.

On micro-blogging site Twitter, Ramsay readily addressed a comment from a follower noting he earlier said he would no longer date a showbiz personality after his controversial break-up with former girlfriend, actress Angelica Panganiban.

"I did say that I'll never date someone from showbiz and that I'd never date Cristine [because] she is a friend. I eat my words," he said.




Reyes, however, was less forward in addressing similar questions when she spoke with reporters at the sidelines of a press conference held Wednesday for the upcoming ABS-CBN series "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin."

Asked on the status of her "love life," Reyes said, "Gano'n pa rin, single parin ako. I don't know... ano ba ang isasagot?"

She continued, laughing, "Nagsisinungaling lang ako... Pwede bang hindi magsalita? Hindi ko talaga alam kung paano 'yan sasagutin sa ngayon. I swear, hindi ko pa talaga alam!"

Close friends since 2011

At the time they co-starred as a married couple in the romance-drama film "No Other Woman" in 2011, Reyes and Ramsay were still with their respective former partners.

Reyes and actor-dancer Rayver Cruz in January made a televised announcement of their separation, which took place last year. Ramsay and Panganiban, on the other hand, broke up in February 2012, according to the actress.

Since Reyes' separation from Cruz, who is one of her co-stars in "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin," the actress and Ramsay have been romantically linked.

While the two admitted frequently going out and being "in constant communication," they maintained they were only friends.

Asked on Wednesday what specific qualities she likes about Ramsay, Reyes only said, "Pareho kaming baliw, pareho kaming outgoing. 'Yung pagiging family man, 'yun ang pinakagusto ko sa kanya."

The two are currently gearing up for their second big-screen project together, "Trophy Wife," under the production of Viva Films.

MANILA, Philippines -- Apart from Coleen Garcia, another actress is being dragged in the breakup of celebrity couple Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford.

On social media, netizens have been speculating about Kapamilya actress Andi Eigenmann's alleged involvement in the couple's decision to split up.

"How true na si Andi Eigenmann daw yung reason ng break up ni Billy and Nikki?," user Maria Lorna Datiles asked on Twitter.

"Si Andi Eigenmann ang third party kay Nikki-Billy breakup" ‏@kayenmartin also asked.

"Si Andi Eigenmann daw dahilan ng break-up ni Billy at Nikki. nabasa ko sa tabloid," ‏@itsmemadam added, referring to a blind item tagging a showbiz girl with the initials "A" and "E" as the reason behind the Gil-Crawford breakup.

Many believe that the tabloid report pointed to Eigenmann, who recently worked with Crawford on the upcoming movie "Oh, My Mamma Mia."

On Sunday, Eigenmann seemed to have addressed the speculations on her official Twitter account, although she did not mention any names.

"I have my own life to worry about. Please don't drag me into other peoples issues. I have nothing to do with it," Eigenmann said.

Meet James Yap's Italian girlfriend

Couple makes first public appearance together

MANILA -- James Yap and his girlfriend of over a year, Michela Cazzola, made their first public appearance together at a party attended by local entertainment personalities Saturday.

The 31-year-old star cager was accompanied by Cazzola at the birthday celebration of talent manager Arnold Vegafria, who is also Yap's business agent.

Although Yap had only started hinting at his romantic relationship in June through photos on Instagram, ABS-CBN News has learned that he and the Italian national have been a couple for more than a year now.

Cazzola is a secretariat specialist at the Asian Development Bank in the Philippines. She is no stranger to the country, as her father also worked here for a time.

Early this month, Cazzola met Yap's family when the basketball player's father celebrated his birthday.

Yap's going public with his relationship with Cazzola comes after a series of controversies involving him and his former wife, actress-host Kris Aquino, and their only child, James "Bimby" Yap, Jr.

Aquino and Yap were married in civil rites in July 2005. Their marriage was declared null in February last year, following allegations of infidelity on Yap's part.

The father no longer has custody of Bimby, but was recently allowed to resume visiting his son after a Makati court denied Aquino's appeal for a permanent protection order against him and a subsequent "compromise" between the former couple.

While Yap appears ready to introduce Cazzola to local showbiz, the San Mig Coffee player has said this isn't the case when it comes to his son.

Daiana Menezes' partner breaks silence on 'abuse'

MANILA, Philippines -- Outgoing Cagayan de Oro Rep. Benjamin Benaldo admitted "differences" with his partner, model Daiana Menezes, amid speculations about the Brazilian beauty's controversial messages of "domestic violence" early this week.

Benaldo, with "the consent of [his] partner," issued a statement Thursday to address the "issues that have recently come out."

"Like any couple, Daiana and I encounter problems. We try to resolve them privately. I have apologized to her and she has accepted," the congressman said.

He added: "On behalf of Daiana's actions on social media (Twitter, Instagram), we seek the understanding of everyone regarding her posts on her advocacies seeking help and support."

The lawmaker is referring to Menezes' controversial posts on the social networking sites early this week. The 25-year-old shared a series of images pertaining to violence against women, including ones showing the words "No to rape," "Real Men Don't use Violence," and "There is no excuse for abuse."

Another photo on Menezes' Instagram page showed an arm bleeding from cuts and wounds.

On Tuesday, a source disclosed to ABS-CBN News that Menezes, through a representative, has already raised her "situation" to a women's rights group.

In his statement, Benaldo said that he "[believes] that any woman, any foreigner (woman) who might be facing a situation worse than ours must find an avenue for the redress of her grievances in our country."

The congressman, however, did not give further details about the mentioned "situation" with his partner.

Benaldo likewise confirmed ABS-CBN News' earlier report that he and Menezes were married in December 2012.

"Daiana and I got married civilly in Las Vegas. Since then, we have been preparing for the big religious ceremony as we previously announced," he said.

Maintaining that they are still a couple, Benaldo said he and Menezes were able "settled our differences today."

"We are together out of love. We fought because of love. She has forgiven me because she truly loves me. I am truly blessed," he said.

He added: "We thank our friends & relatives for their patience and support. We thank everyone for respecting our privacy."

"However, many don't have the same opportunities we do to give them a happy childhood free of preventable and easily cured illnesses. Together we can change that."

Vanessa Paradis Opens Up (a Little) after Johnny Depp Split

In her first interview since her split with Johnny Depp, Vanessa Paradis is asked about her longtime former partner.

The question triggers a rebuke.

"I don't want to talk about him," she tells the summer edition of French Elle while promoting her latest film, Cornouaille. "Who said that artists should sell their soul, expose everything about themselves? … It's my duty to promote this movie, and my albums, but can you imagine what it feels like to see people making a business out of your pain."

She adds: "What's happened to us is our concern."

But the actress/singer, 39, then opens up just enough to hint about her feelings after ending a 14-year relationship with the 49-year-old star.

"I don't have the recipe for happiness, but I think the engine is simply having the desire," she says. "It's not feeling obliged or forced or repeating yourself."

"I hate, for example, whenever you hear someone say: 'You have work at being a couple,'" she continues. "No, you have to want to be there."

"And for me, I want to be right where I am right now.'"

Paradise says she'll continue to divide her time between the United States and France, and their children, Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 10, will attend school in Los Angeles.

"My children are grown now, they are more independent," she says, noting that Lily-Rose is the same age as Paradis when she broke internationally as a pop singer. "My daughter loves singing above all else. Jack, he's a guitarist."

Will they follow in their parents' footsteps?

"I can tell you that if they decide to launch themselves into this kind of career it will be a good thing for music," says, but after hesitating adds, "For my part, although I do not regret what I did, I'd prefer that my daughter takes the time to learn, and, especially, to live her childhood thoroughly."

LOS ANGELES - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, one of the world's best known couples, are engaged to marry, ending a fevered, seven-year celebrity media dance over whether they will ever say "I do."

A spokeswoman for Pitt on Friday confirmed the pair had agreed to wed after Jolie was photographed in Los Angeles wearing a large diamond ring, designed by Pitt, on her engagement finger.

"Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time," said Pitt's spokeswoman Cynthia Pett-Dante.

Pitt, 48 and Jolie, 36 - dubbed Brangelina by celebrity media - are raising six children together, including three adopted kids, all under the age of 11.

Rumors of an impending marriage have made the front pages of celebrity magazines for years, and sent the world's media scurrying to venues as far afield as Italy, India, southern Africa and France to stake out imminent "secret" ceremonies.

The "Moneyball" star said earlier this year that pressure from their kids finally was forcing them to consider tying the knot after previously dismissing marriage as unnecessary or saying they were waiting until gays and lesbians could legally wed.

"It (marriage) seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it 'til everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out," Pitt told The Hollywood Reporter in a January interview.

Jewelry maker Robert Procop said on Friday he had fashioned Jolie's engagement ring in collaboration with Pitt and had been working on it for a year.

"The full creative journey - from conception to completion - took a year, with Brad Pitt waiting until the perfect moment to unveil this special jewel to Angelina Jolie," Procop's spokeswoman said.

Hollywood power couple

Procop said the ring featured an elongated tablet-shaped diamond that was cut to suit Jolie's long, slender fingers, and is mounted with a galaxy of smaller stones.

The ring made its official debut on Wednesday night, when Jolie wore it to a small, private viewing of Chinese art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with Pitt and son Pax.

Pitt divorced his popular "Friends" actress wife Jennifer Aniston in 2005 to be with Jolie, after the pair became close on the set of action spy movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

Jolie, who won a best supporting actress Oscar for her work on "Girl, Interrupted" in 1999, had two previous short-lived marriages to actors Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.

Jolie and Pitt quickly became Hollywood's biggest power couple, traveling around the world as Jolie took on high-profile humanitarian roles and adopting children from Ethiopia and Vietnam to add to their brood.

Marriage speculation again reached fever pitch after Jolie gave birth to their first biological child - daughter Shiloh in Namibia in 2006 - and twins Knox and Vivienne in France two years later.

Pitt insisted they would not wed until gay marriage was legalized in the United States. Same-sex marriage is now legal in New York and seven other US states. In January, the actor made clear pressure was mounting, and it wasn't just the children who wanted a wedding.

"It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment ... But to be in love with someone and be raising a family with someone and want to make that commitment and not be able to it is ludicrous, just ludicrous," he said.
