Former Miss USA Olivia Jordan ties the knot

MANILA – “We did it!”

Former Miss USA Olivia Jordan made this statement on Instagram after tying the knot with actor Jay Hector in Palm Springs, California.

Among those who congratulated Jordan was Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

The two became close after being roommates during Wurtzbach’s Miss Universe reign.

“Congratulations, my love! Stay in love forever,” the Filipina beauty queen told her second runner-up in Miss Universe.

Jordan has gained a fan base in the Philippines for her closeness to Wurtzbach

Naturally, many of them asked the American beauty queen why the Miss Universe 2015 titleholder was not at her wedding.

“She was invited but due to the location and timing, it didn’t work,” she explained. “We will always remain friends no matter how far apart or how often we see each other.”

Former Miss USA Olivia Jordan reveals she was molested, raped

MANILA – Former Miss USA Olivia Jordan took to social media where she revealed that she was molested as a child and was raped as a teenager.

The revelation was part of a lengthy Instagram post, where Jordan aired her opinion about laws concerning abortion.

Jordan said it is through that lens that she views “the new policies that govern what happens to a woman’s body as a direct assault.”

“Decisions were made for my body without my consent. My body and mind have been traumatized in ways I am still recovering from many years later. Maybe it sounds unjust to compare criminalizing abortion to being raped; but to me, it feels the same,” she said.

“I used to get angry when confronted with anti-abortion messaging. I used to want to yell and scream back how I felt. But then we would just have two people screaming,” she added.

Jordan clarified that she is stating her piece not to impose her beliefs on others.

“No one will ever force you to have an abortion. And I ask, if you could pause for one second and realize how insane it is to impose your views on me, to force me or any woman to endure a pregnancy she is not ready for, maybe even one she didn’t consent to in the first place,” she said.

“Maybe you haven’t had the life experience I have had where your body has been controlled too many times without your consent but I have, and I will fight hard to stop any person from enduring the same fate,” she saud,

To end her post, Jordan appealed for others not to support “policies that strip people of their rights and their free choice.”

“Because when men make laws that govern women’s body without their consent, I feel like I am being assaulted all over again. I feel like we are letting the perpetrators win,” she said.

She then hoped “for a better future where we can realize that we can live in harmony even when we don’t agree.”

Miss International Organization reacts to Kylie Verzosa's sexy video

MANILA – Kylie Verzosa’s sexy video on Instagram has caught the attention of netizens, and even the Miss International Organization.

The video, posted on Verzosa’s Instagram page last August 21, shows the Miss International 2016 titleholder posing in front of a mirror while wearing a bright orange string bikini.

While comments about her video were mixed, the remark made by the Instagram account of the Miss International Organization stood out the most for Verzosa.

“That’s why you are Miss International!” the comment read.

Reacting to this, Verzosa told the entertainment website Pep in an article published Monday: “O di ba, supportive ang Miss International? Thank you so much. I love you, guys.”

The beauty queen-turned-actress proudly shared that she has lost 10 to 15 pounds in the past year, thanks to her workouts.

Verzosa said she would rather not focus on the negative comments – which include indecent proposals – she has been receiving because of her sexy video.

What is important is that she is supported by the people she loves, which includes her boyfriend.

“Proud siya, super supportive. Iyon ang gusto ko sa kanya,” she said.

Meet PH bet to Miss World pageant

NEW YORK – Catriona Elisa Gray is the Philippines’ bet for the Miss World Beauty pageant in Washington DC on December 18.

Gray wrote the script for her own contestant introduction video to Miss World 2016, now seen by more than half a million viewers worldwide.

“Syempre, I’m introducing myself, so who better to write the script than me. I wanted not only to show the beautiful sights of our country but also who I am as a person,” she said.

Gray said her unique name is a combination of her two grandmothers’ names.

“My grandmother on my dad’s side, she is of Scottish heritage and she used to speak Gaelic, which is the Celtic Scottish language. She used to paint these beautiful oil canvass paintings and she would sign her name at the bottom. In Gaelic, Catherine is Catriona. My middle name Elisa is actually taken from my lola on my mom's side 'coz her name was Elsa,” she explained.

Gray grew up in Australia, but as an adult, she chose to live and work in the Philippines as a fashion model.

She may have lived the glitzy and glamorous life of a model, but her real passion, she said, is helping the poor kids in the Philippines, especially in Tondo, Manila.

“I was shocked that families were living with such little resources, that they were getting by on so little. I think if you give a child education, they can really make something of themselves, they can help their families in the long run,” she said.

Being a creative person, Gray said art and music are part of her life.

With less than three weeks before the Miss World pageant, Gray believes she is ready to take on the international stage and hopefully bring home another crown and scepter for the Philippines.

Bianca flying to Brazil to meet Fabio Ide's family

MANILA – Bianca Manalo is flying to Brazil later this year to finally meet the relatives of her boyfriend, Brazilian-Japanese model Fabio Ide.

Speaking to entertainment site PEP on Sunday, Manalo said she would like to get to know Ide’s family on a more personal level since they have been together for over a year already.

“Imi-meet ko pa 'yung family niya in December. We'll go to Brazil. One month kami mag-stay dun. Kasi ang hirap naman bigla na lang kaming magpapakasal dito, hindi ko pa kilala 'yung family niya,” she said, admitting that they have already talked about settling down.

Asked how her own family finds Ide, Manalo said: “My family loves him. Mabait kasi siyang tao. Sino ba naman ang hindi magmamahal sa kanya?”

Meanwhile, the former beauty queen shared that their recent trip to Europe together has made their relationship a lot stronger.

“Talagang happy. Nag-bond talaga kaming dalawa,” she said. “We've been there for three weeks. Nakabalik kami last week so talagang sagad na vacation.”

Among the places that they have been to, Manalo said Rome and Paris are their favorites.

“Very relaxed [sa Rome]. Nandun din 'yung Vatican. I had the chance to pray. Paris maganda, pero siguro babalikan ko siya two years from now. Pero kung Rome, puwede ako bumalik next month. Ganun siya kaganda,” she said.

Is there anything that she has discovered about Ide during that trip?

“Tinuruan ko siya na kapag first time mo sa isang simbahan, magwi-wish ka. Hindi niya alam 'yun eh. Nagpri-pray kami parati. Tapos mini-make sure namin na 'yung mga tourist spots, pupuntahan namin sa Paris. Yung top 10 sa Google, pinuntahan namin lahat yun.”

Did you know? Steven Tyler thought Pia was J. Lo

MANILA – It seems that Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler could not tell reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and singer Jennifer Lopez apart.

Wurtzbach made the revelation in an Instagram video over the weekend, as part of her “Two Truths and a Lie with Miss Universe segment.”

The Filipina-German beauty queen said she and her manager saw Steven Tyler, who called her “J. Lo.”

“I was walking here with my manager, Esther. We saw Steven Tyler and then he called me J. Lo,” she said. “Now I think that’s a compliment. So that is actually true.”

Wurtzbach went on to share that the other “truth” is that she “used to build her own computers from scratch.”

The “lie,” meanwhile, is that she “took secret weekend trips to Paris.”

“I’ve never been to Paris, although I lived in London for about three years. I know it’s (London) very close to Paris, but I’ve never visited Paris,” she said.

Wurtzbach recently visited Manila to discuss with President Rodrigo Duterte the possibility of holding the next Miss Universe pageant here in the Philippines.

Finally! Pia confirms she is dating 'Dr. Mike'

MANILA - "I've dodged this question in a lot of interviews for you," Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach told host Boy Abunda when asked to confirm if she is dating "Sexiest Doctor Alive" Mikhail Varshavski in an episode of "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Wurtzbach admitted that she is being wooed by Varshavski, who she said is still getting used to the Filipino tradition of courtship.

"He's adjusting to the Filipino ways a lot because it's very different, the culture is very different. I had to explain to him how different it is in the Philippines, kung papaano ba manligaw," she said.

Wurtzbach added that Varshavski, who was featured in People magazine's 2015 "Sexiest Man Alive" issue, has been understanding about her situation and maintained that her priority remains to be her duties as the reigning Miss Universe.

"I assure you guys, masakit sa kanya pero sinabi ko talaga sa kanya na ito ang number one priority ko," explained Wurtzbach, pointing to her sash. She also said that Varshavski, whom she describes as a "true gentleman," wants to visit the country someday.

Last month, Varshasvski, a Russian-born doctor working at the Overlook Medical Center in New Jersey, revealed that he is in a "fairly new relationship" with the Filipina beauty queen.

In an interview with the Huffington Post back in January, Varshavski said that he is "actively looking for a serious relationship and surprisingly this fame has not made it simpler to find a compatible partner."

Pia Wurtzbach thanks 'Pianatics' for warm welcome

MANILA - From the airport, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach on Saturday went straight to the Novotel Hotel in Cubao, where she thanked some of the most important people in her life -- her loyal fans.

Wurtzbach broke tight protocol when she strayed from the hotel's red carpet reception to approach and wave at her fans.

"Pianatics, thank you so much for coming here so early in the morning. I heard you guys waited for me for three hours outside," the Filipino-German beauty queen said.

"Nakakatuwang lahat sila naka-blue, parang yung huli kong evening gown. Pati yung Philippine flag nila at yung Philippine sash, nakakatuwang tingnan, sobra," she added.

Holding welcome banners, the Pianatics went wild with Wurtzbach's acknowledgment of their presence outside the tightly secured hotel.

Some of them came from the provinces to have a first glimpse of the homecoming queen. One of them even sashayed as Miss Philippines Universe.

Wurtzbach's mom, who was a few minutes late for her daughter's arrival, was also brimming with excitement.

She also expressed and gratitude to the Pianatics who have stayed loyal to her daughter through the years.

"Aga nilang nagising. Mas late pa nga kami. Thank you very much sa mga sumusuporta kay Pia, hanggang gnayon, andiyan kayo -- sa pinagdaanan niya hanggang sa maabot niya yung tagumpay na yan, Miss Universe, my God, unbelievable," said Cheryl Alonzo Tyndall.

Binibining Pilipinas matriarch and Wurtzbach's mentor, Stella Marquez Araneta, was also flushed with joy at the warm homecoming welcome for the reigning Miss Universe at the airport and the hotel, which will be her home in the next seven days.

A grateful Wurtzbach said she could not wait for the many more surprises being prepared by the Pianatics, who also plan to relive her Miss Universe moment -- complete with the iconic blue dress and crown -- at her special show at the Araneta Coliseum later this week.

LOOK: Bikini-clad Bianca Manalo takes Amanpulo

MANILA – Just as Filipinos are ready to welcome the summer, former beauty queen Bianca Manalo decided to raise the temperature a little more as she flaunted her sexy body.

Manalo recently visited the island resort of Amanpulo in Palawan.

On Instagram, the host-actress posted two pictures of her wearing a two-piece black bikini. In the caption, Manalo wrote: “Trust me, it's Paradise! #BiancaTakesAmanpulo #NoFilter”

The photos immediately garnered thousands of “likes” and comments, with her followers lauding her sexy figure.

Manalo joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2009. She then represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant that year.

Two years ago, Manalo made headlines when it was reported that she was dating President Benigno Aquino III. Manalo, however, stressed at that time that their supposed dates were purely casual dinners with her sister and their friends around.

Mutya Datul: Reigning supreme

From simple probinsyana...

Mutya has a very classic take on the Filipina: conservative, simple, family-oriented. Her weekdays were spent shuttling between home and school in her hometown of Sta. Maria, Isabela. Weekends were reserved for relaxing at home, playing in the fields, or spending time with her friends.

The third of six siblings, she has high regard for her family and looks out for their well-being. She took on several modeling stints which enabled her to augment her family’s meager income.

This 20-year old is no stranger to beauty pageants. In fact, Mutya has joined quite a number of them even before winning her current title as Miss Supranational 2013.

However, not all of them resulted in a win.

“It was always my ambition to become a beauty queen, to become an inspiration to others. The first time I set foot in the pageant, I was nervous because I felt that the others were better than I was. I was shy and would hesitate to express myself. Since I grew up in the province, I spoke a different dialect which had an effect on my communication skills.”

It may not have been easy, but Mutya stayed focused on her goal. With renewed determination, she kept trying and fighting. Instead of giving up on her dream, she went hard at work, rigorously training to be the best she could be. She honed her communication skills and became more confident about herself.

“I always strive to maintain a positive outlook in life. I believe I can succeed and I don’t give up on anything. Though I experienced losses, I did not let those setbacks stop me from reaching for my dream. With determination and persistence, I worked hard to achieve my goals.”

To world-class role model

Being a beauty queen is no walk in the park.

“Yes, it is fun,” she admits, “but there is also a lot of hard work and sacrifice involved. In a way, it is like a normal job. It comes with its own set of problems and responsibilities. For instance, I always have to keep in mind that others look up to me. I have to be very conscious of my words and actions, mindful that I have to set a good example for them.”

A beyond beautiful Filipina, she believes, is beautiful inside and out. “Inner beauty is what matters most. However, it does not mean that you should not take care of how you dress and look. I also have to work at maintaining myself. Being presentable boosts your self-esteem.”

Having always taken care of how she looks, especially her long, shiny hair, Mutya’s beauty has definitely taken her to places she had only dreamed of. “Winning the crown gave me a lot
of opportunities. It allowed me to meet many interesting people. I am able to represent our country. I am also able to engage in charity work and other worthwhile causes.”

The crown and sash is not the be-all and end-all for this lady. She sees it as one of her major stepping stones towards higher dreams. “Filipinas are not afraid to tackle life’s challenges. After my reign, maybe I’ll try my hand at show business.”

Things can only get better for Mutya, and she will definitely dazzle everyone as she continues to rise above the rest.

The first Asian and Filipina to bag the Miss Supranational title, Mutya believes that there are no limits to what one can achieve.

“Life is wonderful if you know how to live it. Believe in yourself and don’t let others pull you down. Kung ako na simpleng probinsyana, nakayanan ko itong gawin, kaya rin ito ng iba.”

Bea Rose clarifies residency issue

MANILA – Fresh from her triumph in the Miss International pageant, Philippines’ bet Bea Rose Santiago shrugged off questions about her citizenship.

This comes after an entertainment blog alleged that Santiago was supposedly being eyed to become the Binibining Pilipinas Universe but this did not materialize because the Masbate beauty has some residency issues.

In an interview with “Mornings@ANC” on Wednesday, Santiago said it doesn’t matter anymore because she has already bagged the Miss International title.

“For Binibini Miss Universe, you have to stay here for at least six months. My passport has many stamps in it. I don’t know if it’s that. But I really don’t care right now. I won. Ara was our representative for Miss Universe. I think it doesn’t matter anymore right now,” she said.

Putting an end to speculations, Santiago said: “I was born in Alabang and then I moved with my grandparents in Masbate. I went to elementary and I went to two years of high school there because my grandma is a teacher. I was raised in a province. When I was 15, I moved to Toronto and continued school there until college.”

The beauty queen said she returned to the Philippines only last year.

“Just last year, I came back to the Philippines. My dad speaks Ilonggo and my mom speaks Bisaya so I get all these. I understand Ilonggo and Bicolano and Waray. But I’m very fluent in Tagalog and Bisaya because staying with my grandparents, that’s the dialect I grew up with,” she said.

With Santiago's victory, the Philippines now boasts of five Miss International winners -- Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Gemma Cruz (1965).

Placing second to Santiago was Netherland's Nathalie den Dekker, followed by New Zealand's Casey Radley. Completing the Top 5 were Colombia's Cindy Aguilar and Hungary's Brigitta Otvos.

Shamcey Supsup is new host of interior design show

MANILA -- Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup now has her own television show.

Supsup, a licensed architect, has replaced Angel Aquino as the host of the interior design show "Interior Motives," which is set to air its second season next month.

The beauty queen said she is excited for her newest project which, she called a dream come true.

"I'm so excited about this because it's really a fun way of showing architecture, interior design. You won't be bored. It's a mix of everything," Supsup told reporters on Thursday.

"After the (Miss Universe) pageant I said to my manager that I really want a show that would not be far from where I came from, which is construction and design, but still do hosting which I learned to love after two years of doing stints. So ito na 'yon, ito na 'yung culmination of everything that I've prepared for," she added.

The topnotcher in the 2010 Architecture Board Exams went on to share what viewers can expect from her show.

"We have a segment wherein we go to an interesting space and we will talk to the owner or the designer, where you can get inspiration for your houses or spaces," she said.

"The second segment is where we will showcase an architect, interior designer or furniture designer and how he has done his designs [as well as] his inspirations. The focus is on the designer. The third one is the tool kit, where they recommend certain tools that you can use when you are designing or renovating your house," Supsup said.

Joining Supsup on the second season of "Interior Motives" are interior designers and sisters Cynthia and Ivy Almario. The two will be in a new segment called "Project: Makeover," where they will turn otherwise empty spaces into beautiful places.

Before Miss World, Megan never won anything

MANILA – Megan Young didn’t know how she exactly felt when she was named the winner at the 2013 Miss World pageant recently held in Bali, Indonesia.

Having never won a single award in her entire life, Young said getting the title of Miss World felt surreal.

“Gusto ko na lang maiyak [nung natawag ako] because I’ve never won anything in my life. Kahit nga sa raffle, hindi ako nananalo. Tapos nanalo ako bigla ng Miss World,” she said in an interview on "The Buzz" on Sunday.

Young said the only thing she had in mind during the pageant was to do her best because she is carrying the flag of the Philippines.

“My mindset that night is that when I step on the stage, I’m going to think like a winner. You have that positive outlook. It comes from the people around me, my barkada, my family, my relatives. These are the people that keep the Megan inside here today,” she told fellow beauty queen Charlene Gonzales on "The Buzz."

Meanwhile, the Kapamilya star said she was overwhelmed when thousands of Filipinos braved the rains just to see her during her motorcade in Makati City last Friday.

“I wanted to celebrate with everyone. I wanted everyone to be with me. I was kind of scared because it was raining and people wouldn’t go out, baka matakot sila or mabasa. But while we were there in the rain, people were running out of their office, throwing confetti from their offices. It was such a fun and nakakaiyak na experience para sa akin,” she said.

Young will stay for a few more days in the Philippines before she flies back to London, where she will live for a year.

The beauty queen said she is already excited to begin her charity activities which are part of her duties as Miss World.

“We have so many projects that we are going to do this year. We are going to start everything here in the Philippines. We are going to PGH tomorrow. They have children there and these children, nahihirapan na sila kasi walang kagamitan, pera para makabili ng gamot. Ito yung gusto naming i-raise sa mga tao, maging aware sila sa kung ano ang nangyayari,” she said.

Young also mentioned that she will be going to New York soon.

Why Venus regrets relationship with Andrei

Venus says Andrei caused rift in her family

MANILA – Beauty queen Venus Raj regrets entering into a relationship with former TV host Andrei Felix, saying that this once caused a rift in her family.

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s “Tapatan Ni Tunying” aired on Thursday, the Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up revealed for the first time that there was a time when her siblings made her choose between them and Felix.

Raj said she initially chose to be with Felix, which led to months of being away with her family.

“Marami kasing taong nasaktan eh. Maraming taong nadamay, especially ‘yung pamilya ko. Umabot kami sa point na nag-away-away kaming magkakatapid. Umabot sa point na pinapapili ako ng mga kapatid ko kung sila or siya. Mas pinili ko siya. Hindi kami nag-usap ng mga kapatid ko for a few months. Na-miss ko ang pamilya ko doon,” she said without citing the reason behind the rift.

Realizing that she wants to return to her family, Raj decided to break up with Felix, ending their one-year relationship.

“Nag-usap kami. Sinabi ko, ‘Siguro oras na para maghiwalay tayo. Sana may natutunan ka sa kung anong mayroon tayo dati, sa mga pinagdaanan natin.’ Sabi ko, ‘Sana may natutunan ka at gamitin mo ‘yun sa mga susunod mong relasyon nang hindi na maulit ‘yung nangyari sa atin,’” she said.

Raj admitted that she believes that Felix helped her become a better person “in some aspects.” The beauty queen stressed, however, that she should have listened to those who were against the idea of her being in a relationship with the TV host.

“Sana pala nung mga unang panahon na iniisip ko na papasukin ko ba ‘tong relasyon na ‘to o hindi, sana pala nakinig ako sa kanila. Sana pala hindi na umabot sa ganito,” she said.

Raj and Felix met as co-hosts of the ABS-CBN morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” in 2011. The two were eventually replaced by other hosts in 2013, when the show underwent some format changes.

The beauty queen stressed that their exit from “Umagang Kay Ganda” had nothing to do with their split.

“Hindi po ‘yun dahil sa trabaho kung bakit nawala kami. Mas malalim ang pinanggagalingan nun, mas personal ang pinanggagalingan nun,” she explained.

ABS-CBN’s “Tapatan Ni Tunying” tried to contact Felix to get his side, but the TV host refused to make a statement about his failed relationship with Raj.

Showbiz has taken a back seat for Raj, who is currently busy taking up a master’s degree in Community Development at the University of the Philippines.

Asked when she plans on settling down, she said: “’Pag dumating na po ‘yung tamang lalaki para sa akin. Kahit bata pa o matanda ka na, basta alam mo na ‘yan ang tamang tao para sa’yo. Kasi lifetime mong makakasama ‘yan.”

Raj’s mother, Esther Bayonito, for her part said she only wants her daughter to find a man who would love her for the rest of her life.

“Kahit ‘di kagwapuhan, kahit hindi mayaman. Dahil ang lalaking magiging asawa mo, siya ang kahalili ko sa pagmamahal ko sa’yo,” Bayonito said, addressing Raj.

Rayver Cruz dating a beauty queen?

MANILA – Actor Rayver Cruz denied reports linking him to Binibing Pilipinas 2013 semi-finalist Imee Schweighart.

A report of entertainment website Pep.ph said a photo of the two where they appeared to be sweet to each other went viral online in the past week.

Clarifying the matter, Cruz said: “Sanay na ako kasi siyempre pag may lumabas na pictures na ganyan, sasabihin agad girlfriend. Pero hindi, we’re just hanging out, we’re friends.”

Cruz said he met Schweighart through Dianne Medina, the girlfriend of his brother Rodjun.

“Malambing kasi ako sa mga friends ko. Kung kay Maja [Salvador] nga malambing ako, kay Shaina [Magdayao]. Kaya kong yakapin ang lahat. Sobrang dami kong kaibigan na babae,” he told Pep.ph.

While saying there is nothing romantic going on between them, Cruz admitted that he finds Schweighart beautiful.

“Nagagandahan ako sa kanya, she’s really beautiful. Kahit naman sinong makakita ng litrato niya, sasabihing maganda siya. Beauty queen talaga. Sobrang bait niya, sobrang sweet, ang sarap niyang kausap sa edad niya. I think she’s 20 yata," he said.

Cruz also appealed to the public to spare Schweighart from such rumors.

“Hang out lang talaga, magkaibigan lang kami ni Imee. Kaklaruhin ko ‘yan kasi kawawa naman, nadadamay na naman, nali-link na naman sa akin, sasabihin bagong girlfriend ko,” he said.

Courting Liz Uy?

Cruz also denied that he is courting celebrity stylist Liz Uy.

“Yun nga, si Ate Liz nadadamay. Matagal ko nang kaibigan 'yun, dati pa. Kasi nga, malambing talaga ako sa mga friends ko. Si Ate Liz, tawa nang tawa, tumawag sa akin, ‘Little bro, pati ako nadadamay.’ Sabi ko, huwag na lang niyang pansinin,” he said.

Cruz said he just missed Uy because it has been a while since they last saw each other.

Cruz’s last relationship was with actress Cristine Reyes. The two separated amicably late last year but it was only in January that they announced it.

Bb. Pilipinas 2013 candidates in Q&A portion

MANILA, Philippines – Candidate No. 41 Ariella Arida of Laguna was the first contestant to participate in the much-awaited question-and-answer portion of this year’s Binibining Pilipinas coronation night held on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Arida was eventually named Miss Universe Philippines 2013, and is set to represent the country in the upcoming international pageant.

She answered this question from judge Philippine National Police Director General Alan Purisima: “Name a lesson about life that women can teach men.”

The beauty queen, who also won Best in Swimsuit, replied: “One lesson in life that women can teach men is being sensitive because we all know that men are more logical when it comes to decision[-making]. They’re usually more rational, straightforward. Unlike we women, we use our hearts and tend to get emotional in some of our decisions. So, that’s it for me. Sensitivity is something that we, women, can teach to men. Thank you.”

Candidate No. 20 Bea Rose Santiago of Masbate was crowned Binibining Pilipinas-International, and is set to compete in the Miss International beauty pageant. She also bagged the Binibining Avon award.

She was given this question by judge Miss International Beauty Congress president Hirofumi Hashimoto: “Complete this sentence: The ideal Filipino is…”

Santiago replied: “Thank you. The ideal Filipino is both proud and happy people. We love Philippines so much that we are willing to come back here every year, we’re willing to spend our Christmas, holidays every year just to be here in the Philippines.
