Going to #LaBoracay? This resort will open on May 1

MANILA – A new resort will soft-open in Boracay on May 1, just in time for the Labor Day weekend.

Coast Boracay, the latest venture of the Raintree Hospitality and Beach Design Group Inc., is located at Station 2.

The resort’s rates for the LaBoracay season start at P5,000++ for a deluxe room inclusive of buffet breakfast, round-trip transfers to and from Caticlan, use of the swimming pool, gym and play room, and Wi-Fi access.

“We’re ready,” said general manager Randy Salvador. “There is a huge demand for accommodations during LaBoracay season. By opening up our available rooms, we are addressing the fun, crazy vibe of LaBoracay.”

Boracay is always jam-packed during the Labor Day weekend as the island is transformed into a non-stop party venue.

Solaire Resort & Casino by the bay now has its doors wide open after teasing Manila for months before the grand unveiling.

While the casino hotel is far from completed, its four signature restaurants have had the time to create a buzz among the dining crowd.

Paris Hilton loses cellphones on plane to Manila

MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Paris Hilton is suffering a new bout of cellphone drama. The heiress-turned-TV star reportedly lost two mobile devices on a flight to the Philippines for a visit to promote a hotel resort.

Television footage showed Hilton combing through a bag looking upset while she was surrounded by airline staff at the Manila airport late Sunday after arriving from Dubai.

Manila radio station DZBB reported that airport and airline authorities are investigating.

In 2005, hackers gained access to Hilton's Sidekick cellphone and famously splashed the private mobile numbers of her celebrity friends on line.

The latest loss apparently didn't leave Hilton completely cut off - she greeted fans with a tweet "I love you" in the local Tagalog language.
