LOOK: Liza stuns on three covers of fashion magazine

MANILA - Teen star Liza Soberano is featured in not one, not two, but three covers of a local fashion magazine, and she looks every bit as stunning in each of them.

The 17-year-old Soberano is the cover girl of the September issue of Metro. It sees the "Forevermore" lead star pose in different locations around California such as Santa Clara, San Jose, and Los Angeles, dressed in stylish outfits from top American brands.

"Metro likes to create a story that goes deeper than just snapping a pretty photo in a foreign city," the magazine's editior-in-chief Sarah Meier said.

"We chose to bring Liza to California for our Big Fashion Issue because its tailor made to mesh with her rising career. California encapsulates Liza’s past and bright future," she added.

Online fans of Soberano were quick to complement the teen star, making the hashtag #MetrLovesLiza one of the top local trending topics on Twitter Thursday evening. It has generated more than 19,000 mentions.

"This shoot was so close to my heart. I can't wait for it to come out and for all of you to get to know me more," wrote Soberano on her Instagram account.

Here are the covers which prove that good things really do come in threes.

Sarah Meier is new Metro editor-in-chief

MANILA - Former MTV VJ and culture columnist Sarah Meier is the new editor-in-chief of fashion magazine Metro, publisher ABS-CBN has announced.

Meier will debut her first Metro issue as editor-in-chief in April.

Of the career milestone, Meier said: "What I am most excited about in joining the Metro team is that there is no other platform as unique and primed for growth and greatness in the Philippine fashion magazine arena.

"Our potential to make a significant impact in empowering women is massive — the undeniable assets that we possess within the ABS-CBN family, the unpretentious relationships we have in the fashion industry, and most importantly, a humble and hungry team that is head over (designer) heels in love with what they do."

A professional model since she was 14, Meier became an MTV VJ for Southeast Asia for six years until 2007. For a time, she was also the host of "Philippine Fashion Week TV" and "Super Model TV" on Studio 23.

In 2012, she completed a publishing course in Columbia University's School of Journalism. She also finished a short course on advertising in Duke University.

Currently, Meier maintains a weekly column in the Arts and Culture section of the Manila Bulletin. She is also the general manager and creative director of e-commerce site Pormada.com.
