Kathryn told not to have boyfriend until she's 18

MANILA, Philippines -- Love must wait for young actor Daniel Padilla, who must slug it out for another year to win the heart of his leading lady Kathryn Bernardo.

In an interview on Thursday during the press conference for their movie "Must Be... Love," Bernardo admitted that her mother, Min, had requested her not to have a boyfriend until she turns 18 next year.

"Sana hindi muna. Pero gusto niya din ako na maging normal girl na may nanliligaw pero sana ay huwag muna. Pero pwede magpaligaw," Bernardo said.

Asked to describe her current relationship with Padilla, the young actress replied:"Parang ganoon (mutual understanding or MU) siguro. Kasi iba-iba ang definition ng MU sa atin. Kaming dalawa nagkakaintindihan kami. Siguro parang high school 'yung stage naming dalawa. Basta hindi minamadali."

"Siguro masasabi ko na nade-develop talaga ang feelings habang nagtatagal na nakakasama ko si DJ kasi mabuti po siyang lalaki," she added.

Despite this, Bernardo stressed that she is not prohibiting Padilla from pursuing other girls.

"Hindi ko naman siya binabawalan na manligaw sa iba kasi wala pa akong right kasi choice niya kung ano ang gusto niya," she said.

Not jealous of fans

In the interview, Bernardo also cleared that she is jealous of Padilla's fans.

"Hindi totoo 'yon lalo na sa mga babae kasi ma-a-attract sila kay DJ kasi kumakanta. ...Bakit ko naman sila pipigilan?" she said.

Bernardo even stressed that she is proud of Padilla's success.

"Nakaka-proud nga kasi ang daming nagkakagusto kay DJ kaya 'yung sinasabi nilang isyu na nagse-selos ako lalo na sa mga fans hindim hindi po yon totoo," she added.

Aside from acting, Padilla has also successfully ventured into singing. Apart from his best-selling CD, Padilla was also chosen to participate performance at last Sunday's Himig Handog P-Pop Love Song finals.

His song "Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat" was the biggest winner in the various listeners' choice awards done by online voting, CD purchases or music video requests.

Enrique denies accepting car from benefactor

MANILA, Philippines – Young actor Enrique Gil denied that his new car came from a benefactor.

In an interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday, Gil said all his possessions are the result of his hard work and that he never accepted anything from a benefactor.

“Basta sa akin ginawa ko ang trabaho ko. 'Yung dream car, nakuha ko sa malinis na pamamaraan. Sa lahat ng nag-iisip noon, sorry pero trabaho lang talaga. Malinis iyon, malinis. Pinaghirapan ko talaga,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Gil said he is currently not in a relationship nor is he dating anyone.

Asked about the qualities of his ideal girl, Gil said: “Sa kulay wala naman eh. Depende lang talaga kung may something 'yung tao, 'yun na 'yun eh. Parang kahit wala siya doon, 'yung sumisilip ka kung nandiyan ba. ‘Yung may ganun.”

After the conclusion of his series “Princess And I,” Gil said he would devote his time to further hone his skills as an actor.

"I’m constantly learning. You always learn. You cannot stop learning kahit sobrang tagal mo na, kahit beterano, each time they act, you learn. Imposible ‘yung alam mo na lahat. Di mangyayari ‘yon,” he said.

Gil previously revealed that he will be working on two new shows with ABS-CBN this year.

Daniel Padilla hurt in basketball match

MANILA, Philippines - Young actor Daniel Padilla was hurt during the  third and last match of the "Princess and I" basketball tournament on Sunday night, which required some stitches on his chin.

According to "Umagang Kay Ganda" host Bianca Gonzales,  Laurenti Dyogi, ABS-CBN's head of TV production, has assured that Padilla is fine despite the accident.

"Sa mga fans ni Daniel na nag-aalala sa kanyang kalagayan na  stitched up na ang kanyang baba. Okay naman po si Daniel. Everything is fine so no need to worry," Gonzales said.

Padilla's Team Gino won the royal championship game, 100-94, against Enrique Gil's Team Jao.

During the last minutes of the game, Padilla's chin bled after it was hit by Team Jao's Bobby Ray Parks' elbow.

"Actually I was going out for the shot. He jumped in when I shot the shot," Parks explained. "He dropped to the deck, I came to him and said, 'Yo, I didn't try to do that. I'm sorry.'"

In his official Twitter account, Parks again apologized to Padilla's family and  fans.

"I truly apologize for what happened at the game, didn't mean it and it's a part of the game. To Daniel Padilla, fam, friends, fans, I'm sorry #accident" Parks tweeted.

Kathryn’s mom fond of Daniel Padilla

MANILA, Philippines – Min Bernardo, the mother of “Princess and I” lead actress Kathryn Bernardo, said she does not mind the growing closeness between her daughter and co-star Daniel Padilla.



In an interview with Push.com.ph, Min said she is actually fond of Padilla’s honesty in saying that he admires her daughter.

“Natatawa pa nga ako eh. Okay lang. Natutuwa ako kasi hindi siya natatakot na sabihin na gusto ko ito or ganyan. Kasi sinasabi niya yung nasa loob niya. Hindi tulad ng iba na sinasabi na crush nila si Kathryn tapos biglang may bawi na joke lang, may ganun eh. Tapos ang totoo gustong-gusto nila,” she said.

Even Min is now close with the young actor.

“Close na rin kami. Pinipilit ko na maging close kahit sino sa kanila para alam nila kung may gagawin silang pangit, iisipin nila, ‘Ang bait naman ni Tita Min sa akin, bakit ko gagawin yun?’”she said.

Min said she thinks Padilla is a really nice boy, contrary to what other people think of him. She said she also considers Padilla as her own son.

“Ang tingin ko sa kanya, deep inside talaga mabait siyang bata compared sa akala ng iba. 'Yun ang tingin ko sa kanya. Kasi actually parang anak ko na din 'yun eh... At saka 'yung pinakikita niya kung sino siya. Kaya nga ako, pinapagalitan ko siya pag dapat. Sinasabi ko 'pag hindi dapat ganyan siya, kasi kung magselos minsan (laughs). Kaya sabi ko hindi dapat ganyan,” she said.

According to Min, she is glad whenever she hears people saying they have a crush on Kathryn.

“Pero kung minsan iniisip ko na lang, totoo kaya yun or showbiz di ba? Yun na lang naiisip ko,” she said.

While she approves of her daughter having love teams and admirers, Min said she hopes Kathryn won’t enter into a relationship just yet.

“Pero kasi kahit ano sabihin natin, hangga’t maari, huwag sana mag-boyfriend. Pero hindi ko pa din maiaalis 'yun, di ba? Kasi sa tingin ko lang ha, kung kokontra ka ng kokontra, kung pagtataguan ka din naman, eh di much better na sabihan mo na lang na huwag munang ganun. Pero kung hindi niyo mapigil o sige, pero sana sasabihin niyo sa akin. Para alam ko kung saan naman ako lulugar. Ganun ang sinasabi ko sa kanya lagi,” she said.

MANILA, Philippines – For teen star Alden Richards, being 20 years old means taking on new challenges and making bolder steps with his career. The young actor has recently posed topless for the summer collection of a clothing brand.

In a taped interview with “Unang Hirit” aired Thursday, Richards said he’s “happy” that his first-ever sexy pictorial was a success.

“Sabi nila bibigyan daw nila ako ng billboard pero parang I have to do a topless pictorial for them for summer. Happy. Happy din po ‘yung management din po kasi after the shoot po kailangan may result agad kasi kung hindi maganda hindi po ilababas. Pero satisfied. Satisfied naman po ‘yung management,” he shared.

Alden underwent arduous preparation to ensure he’s fit to bare skin on cam.

“Ay grabe! Sobrang araw-araw sa gym tapos ‘yung diet hangga’t maari ‘wag kumain ng fattening food. Ano ka lang, puro ka lang fish. Tapos puro broccoli na steamed lang, walang kahit ano. No salt. Walang kahit anong pampalasa, calamansi at pepper lang,” explained the 2011 Golden Screen Awards Breakthrough Actor.

Fans of the 2010 Ginoong Laguna can probably start rejoicing because after this project, the public is likely to see a “different” Richards.

“Siguro not to the point na daring. Siguro more on konting sexy. Kasi 20 years old na po ako, ‘eh. Parang graduate na po ako sa tween image so let’s try some new image, parang ‘yung other side of Alden naman,” he enthused.
