SkyCable denies 'sabotage' vs GMA signal
MANILA - Cable channel provider SKY Cable Corp., a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Corporation, denied on Friday that it intentionally disrupted the signal of rival network GMA-7 during the airing of its noontime show.
In a statement, SkyCable said the complaint filed by GMA Network before the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to investigate "irresponsible acts" by the service provider does not have basis.
"The complaint of GMA-7 with the NTC last August 25, 2015, regarding shortchanging of our SkyCable subscribers via irresponsible acts, is a malicious accusation and is without basis," SkyCable said.
"If there were service interruptions that inconvenienced some of our subscribers, these were isolated and would have affected other channels, not only GMA-7," it added.
The service provider also said it is willing to cooperate with any investigation conducted by the NTC.
"To all our valued customers and stakeholders, we commit to take all necessary measures to give you the best service you deserve and continue working round-the-clock to minimize and immediately resolve any service interruptions in the future," it said.
GMA Network alleged that the signal loss experienced by its viewers violated the Revised Rules and Regulations Governing Cable Television Systems in the Philippines.
ABS-CBN is the parent company of SkyCable and ABS-CBNnews.com.

Isabelle Daza is now a Kapamilya
MANILA -- Actress-host Isabelle Daza is now officially a Kapamilya star.
On Monday afternoon, Daza signed a contract with ABS-CBN and was welcomed by the network's executives led by president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio.
"Napaka-excited ako and overwhelmed with this warm welcome. Coming here, everybody has been welcoming me at kinukuwento ko sa kanila na even the waiter was telling me 'Ma'am welcome to the Kapamilya.' Parang proud na proud siya. It makes me so honored to be part of this family," she said.
Asked why she decided to change networks, Daza replied: "I wanted a new challenge in my life and I want to try something that I haven't done. I want to to expand my horizons and take this journey as an actress naman."
The actress-host admitted it was a hard decision for her to leave the noontime show "Eat Bulaga."
"Nung Saturday last day ko na. It was very emotional lalo na kay Ryzza (Mae Dizon) because she's my little student but they were all very supportive and they all wished me luck and they are excited also to see what I have in store here sa ABS-CBN," she said.
Daza said she signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN for both TV and movies. "Bongga naman siya, 'yun muna," she said.
First project
In the interview, Daza revealed that her first project in her new home is the upcoming series "Nathaniel," with Gerald Anderson as her leading man.
"Yes, kasama ako sa cast ng 'Nathaniel.' I will be working with Gerald Anderson and Shaina (Magdayao), Pokwang and Coney Reyes and amazing cast. I'm so excited for that," said Daza, who will play the girlfriend of Anderson in the upcoming show.
"Ako ay isang lawyer and I work closely with his (Anderson's) mom, Coney Reyes. Kami yung laging magkaka-eksena," she aded.
Daza admitted it was her dream to work with Anderson.
"Si Gerald talaga ang gusto kong makatrabaho kasi nakita ko siya sa 'On The Job' and I saw kung gaano siya nag-grow as an actor and I was very impressed. So siya 'yung number one, that's why I'm so excited to work with him," she explained.
"Next, nakatrabaho ko na si John Lloyd (Cruz), pero marami kayong leading men here to choose from so it's like a buffet," she said.
Daza was part of the movie "It Takes A Man and A Woman" with Cruz and Sarah Geronimo.
Mom's words
Isabelle, the daughter of actress-beauty queen Gloria Diaz, also revealed that her mother singled out Magdayao among her co-stars.
"Ang sinasabi ng mom ko, siyempre 'Do your best, you are only as good as your last scene' at 'Shaina is a good actress, you have to learn from her.' Also she told me -- siyempre my mom is my number one fan -- 'you are magaling.' She always tells me that every day, so parang 'yun ang palagi kong naririnig sa kanya. But she said 'ABS-CBN is a different level and they really expect the best from you," Daza shared.
"She wants me to focus on being an actress also. Parang same lang naman kami," she added.
As part of her preparation for the series, Daza said she will undergo acting workshop.

Vic on having a new baby: I will be happier
MANILA - While he enjoys bonding with his children and grandchildren, veteran comedian Vic Sotto is open to the idea of having another baby.
In an interview during a press conference for his newest endorsement, the real estate company Citiglobal, Sotto said he "will be happier" if he will have another child.
"Kapag darating [ang baby] I will be happier. It's most welcome kung may parating pa. Bonggang, bonggang, bongga," said Sotto, who is in a relationship with his "Eat Bulaga" co-host Pauleen Luna.
When asked if he couldn't live without Luna, he said: "Oo naman. Kasama siya sa araw-araw na buhay ko."
Sotto went on to share his excitement whenever he sees his children and grandchildren.
"Marami akong apo eh. May bago akong baby, si Caleb na gwapong-gwapo, na nagmana sa lolo, grabe. I'm sure nakikita niyo sa Instagram ni Oyo," he said, referring to his son, Oyo Sotto.
"Siyempre hindi mo pwedeng alisin 'yon," he added, noting how he always makes his children his priority. "Bonus na lang 'yung sa mga apo ko na mababait, cute."
Meanwhile, Sotto said he is having a great time because he has always loved his work as an actor and TV host.
"I've always been relaxed. That's one thing that's keeping us really going strong -- loving what you're doing. At kapag sinabi mo 'yung loving what you're doing, eh kung 'di ka relaxed, 'di ka mage-enjoy. Kung tingin mo lang sa ginagawa mo ay trabaho lang talaga, trabaho ka nang trabaho, walang relaxation. Iiksi ang buhay mo.
"In other words, kailangan mage-enjoy ka," he ended.

Wally makes tearful return to 'Eat Bulaga'
TV host and comedian Wally Bayola appeared on the noontime show "Eat Bulaga" on Saturday, five months after his sex video with one of the show's dancers circulated online.
A tearful Bayola emerged holding a birthday cake for his comedy-act partner Jose Manalo, when the latter, together with Paolo Ballesteros, were hosting their "Juan for All, All for Juan" segment on the show.
Manalo immediately hugged his partner and gave him a chance to address the audience.
"Sa 'Eat Bulaga,' mga manonood, sorry po," Bayola said. "Sorry po sa mga nagawa kong kasalanan. Sana bigyan niyo pa po ako ng isa pang pagkakataon para maayos ko ang buhay ko. Patawad po sa inyong lahat. Sorry po."
In an interview last year, "Eat Bulaga" co-host Vic Sotto said Bayola needs to apologize for the "scandal" first before returning to showbiz.
Before his "Eat Bulaga" appearance on Saturday, Bayola had already resumed work as a stand-up comic. He reportedly made his first public appearance at a comedy bar in Quezon City late last month.
Bayola's controversial video, which surfaced online last September 2, shows the 41-year-old host having sexual intercourse. A female dancer on "Eat Bulaga," nicknamed Yosh, was tagged then as the alleged woman in the clip.
Following the viral spread of the video, Bayola brought the case to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to track down the culprit.
However, executive director of NBI's Cybercrime Divsion Vic Lorenzo admitted that the task would be difficult, citing the lack of leads.

No Wally on 'Eat Bulaga' amid 'sex scandal'
MANILA -- Comedian Wally Bayola has not appeared on the noontime show "Eat Bulaga," which he regularly co-hosts, since a video allegedly showing him having sexual intercourse circulated online early this week.
The 41-year-old TV host was absent from the program on Tuesday and Wednesday, following the spread of the alleged sex video on Monday, September 2.
Bayola's business manager, Malou Choa Fagar, earlier confirmed to GMA News that the comedian will be temporarily on leave from "Eat Bulaga."
One of the female dancers on the program, nicknamed Yosh, has yet to speak on the issue, after her name was brought up as the alleged woman in the sex video supposedly with Bayola.
The comedian, who rose to fame for his hit act with co-host Jose Manalo, is married and with five children.
Bayola's alleged "sex scandal" is the latest controversy of its kind to make headlines locally, following the likes of actor Hayden Kho's supposed "collection" of videos, and more recently, Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda's "leaked private video" in August.
Miranda has already brought the case to the National Bureau of Investigation, which launched an investigation to track down the suspect behind the spread of the video.
The singer's complaint cited a violation of the Republic Act 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
If proven guilty of the violation, the suspect may be imprisoned for up to seven years or fined up to P500,000.

Pauleen Now 'Okay' After Collapsing On Tv

MANILA, Philippines – TV hosts Ruby Rodriguez and Allan K both revealed that their “Eat Bulaga” co-host Pauleen Luna is now fine after losing consciousness while hosting the show's Monday episode.
Ruby posted on her Twitter account (@rodriguezruby) on Monday, “To all who are concerned about Pauleen, she is fine na. Spoke with her already, she just needs to eat and rest. The heat got her.”
While Allan K wrote (@allanklownz), “ok na si pauleen guys. nadrain lang. thnx for the concern. forever dabarkads talaga kayo!!!!”
During the show's Feb. 13 episode, Pauleen suddenly collapsed while interviewing the contestant together with Allan K and Paolo Ballesteros for the show's remote segment “All for Juan, Juan for All” in San Juan, Davao City.
The segment was temporarily halted, as ordered by Vic Sotto, one of the show's main hosts, who happened to be in the studio in Manila, so that the staff could tend to Pauleen.
When the commotion was over and Pauleen was brought to the hospital, Vic asked Allan K to explain what happened to Pauleen.
“Alas dos ng madaling araw, nasa bahay ‘ko na. Nakisabay siya sa akin papuntang airport. Pagdating ng hotel, natulog lang kami ng very, very light, dumiretso na kami sa venue. Kaya ‘yun nahilo,” recalled the Allan K.
He also added, "Tsaka mainit lang talaga ang panahon, Bossing."
However, to put a light note to this unfortunate incident, Vic jokingly asked Allan K if Pauleen was actually craving for something sour (a clear sign of pregnancy). But he then added that it was just an innocent question. Recall that Vic has been rumored to be the boyfriend of the young actress.
