Gerald Anderson's foundation to train therapy dogs
MANILA -- Actor Gerald Anderson on Wednesday shared that his own foundation, which aims to save lives by training dogs for search and rescue operations, has branched out to training therapy dogs as well.
In an interview on "Umagang Kay Ganda," the actor announced that the Gerald Anderson Foundation Inc., which was launched last March, has a new The Angel Dog Program.
"Lumaki na po yung foundation," he said. "We are training dogs ng basic obedience, tricks, tapos dadalhin namin sa hospital para bisitahin ang mga bata, mga cancer patient."
Anderson created the foundation after his experience during typhoon Ondoy in 2009, when he braved the floods to save people in need.

Gerald mum on Kim's revelation about cheating ex
MANILA – Gerald Anderson refused to comment on Kim Chiu’s statement last week on “Gandang Gabi Vice” that she knows first-hand how it feels to be cheated on by her former boyfriend.
While Chiu did not mention Anderson’s name in the interview, the actress told host Vice Ganda that she only had one past relationship. Both former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemates, Chiu and Anderson broke up in 2010 amid controversies surrounding their relationship.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News and other reporters over the weekend, Anderson politely declined to say anything about the matter.
He said: “No [ayaw ko po mag-comment]. Basta manood po kayo ng ‘Everyday I Love You’ and ‘Etiquette for Mistresses.’”
The latter movie is Chiu’s latest big screen project where she plays the role of the other woman.
Anderson instead spoke at length about his experience working with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
“Okay sila. Sobrang seryoso ako kapag sa trabaho eh. Kapag nakikita ko sila na very light, sobrang magaan katrabaho, kita ko sa mga mukha nila na they are having fun. Ang tagal ko nang hindi ako ganun. Dati ganun ako. So parang bumalik 'yung I’m just having fun. Kahit mahirap 'yung roles namin, at the end of the day, nagagawa naming light,” he said.
Asked what he thinks of Soberano and Gil’s team-up, Anderson said: “Effortless lang sila. Tulad ng sinabi ko, they are just having fun. They are a natural. It just comes out kaya siguro maraming natutuwa sa kanila.”
However, he said he is uncertain whether the two are already a couple based on what he saw while they were working.
“Hindi ko alam. Hindi ko masasagot iyan. Pero kung ano 'yung nakita ko, they are having fun. Mahirap magsalita. Marami silang nai-inspire so 'yun naman ang importante doon,” he said.
But does he miss having a special someone every time he sees his two co-stars in “Everyday I Love You”?
“Oo siyempre naman. Lalaki po ako. I have feelings also. I go through mga ups and downs also. Tao din ako, may nami-miss din po ako. Pero ganun po talaga ang buhay. Isa sa mga natutunan ko sa movie na ito, minsan sa simula ng relasyon, sobrang saya niyo and then one day gigising ka realizing na baka I’m holding her back from something para ma-achieve niya 'yung mga dreams niya or baka [the relationship] is holding me back para sa self-achievement ko. Like I said, tao po ako so may nami-miss din po ako,” he explained.
Despite this, Anderson stressed that he is not yet ready to enter a new relationship.
“Hindi ko pa nga nakikita 'yung bahay ko for the last two weeks. Kumabaga, anong oras ang maibibigay ko sa magiging girlfriend ko? Ayaw ko maging selfish at maging unfair sa kanya. I don’t want to go through something like that,” he said.
Anderson’s last girlfriend was Maja Salvador.

Gelli speaks up on rumors hounding sister Janice
MANILA – Gelli de Belen spoke up in defense of her sister Janice, who was tagged as the reason behind the split of former celebrity couple Gerald Anderson and Maja Salvador.
Speaking to entertainment site Pep, Gelli said her sister deserves respect.
“I found it so unfair na isinali siya dun. I found it so malicious for somebody like Janice de Belen na isali sa ganun," she said.
“I know that they are close. Pero 'yung issue, siya ang dahilan? Ang taray! Wala na 'kong masabi! Ano ba? Respetuhin niyo naman si Janice de Belen sa lahat ng pinagdaanan niya,” she added.
Gelli said she never asked Janice about the issue because she knows the truth.
“Alam kong wala, hindi ko na tinanong,” Gelli said, as she seemed exasperated. “Pero on a lighter note, may asim pa! Pero that’s not how we should see it.”
But how would she react if one day, Janice indeed falls in love with a younger man?
Gelli said she will support anything that will make her sister happy.
Janice, Anderson and Salvador already clarified this issue in separate interviews.
All three denied that Janice was reason behind the break up, with Anderson and Salvador saying they have so much love and respect for the actress.
Janice portrayed Salvador's mother in "Ina, Kapatid, Anak," a year after she played Anderson's mom in the 2012 primetime series, "Budoy."

Gerald on breakup with Maja: I'm still healing
MANILA - Actor Gerald Anderson said that he is still "healing" following his breakup with actress Maja Salvador.
"Nasa healing process pa ako," Anderson said in an interview on the sidelines of a press conference for his newest endorsement, Cosmo Cee supplements, on Thursday.
The actor shared that aside from this family and friends, his busy work schedule helped him move on.
"Siyempre, you keep yourself busy. I mean, isa 'yon sa sikreto sa moving on with your life and moving forward. But mas importante 'yung personal, 'yung 'pag sa bahay ka," he said.
Anderson went on to say that he is trying to be a better person following the split.
"I've made mistakes in my life and I have to take responsibility for that. And every day of my life, siyempre, I will be the best man that I can. 'Yun lang po ang magagawa ko... Kapag sa breakup ay ayaw ko na pong pag-usapan 'yon at tapos na 'yon," he said.
When asked if there is someone new in his life, the actor replied: "Ni hindi pa dumadaan sa isip ko 'yun. Ang pinakaimportante sa akin ay providing for my family. 'Yun ang importante sa akin ngayon... feeling ko matagal-tagal pa 'yan."
Photo with Janice
Meanwhile, Anderson also spoke about his photo with actress Janice De Belen which he posted on Instagram early this week.
In the said post, the actor apologized to De Belen, who was rumored to be the reason behind his breakup with Salvador.
"Okay, ito na 'yung huling beses na magsasalita ako tungkol doon. Para sa mga hindi nakakaintindi o ano, wala pong kinalaman si Ate Janice sa kahit anong iniisip niyo o sa kahit anong sinasabi niyo," Anderson said. "So sana po ay huwag na kayong mandamay ng taong walang kinalaman. Please."
"Kung hindi niyo po maintindihan, siguro kailangan niyo si Nathaniel sa buhay niyo," he added, referring to the main character of his family-oriented series.
When prodded about rumors that he is insecure of Salvador's career, Anderson said: "Ay, ay, ayaw ko na po. Ayaw ko na pong dagdagan."
The actor also refused to say who initiated the breakup, and merely mentioned that he and Salvador remain friends.

Gerald tours Maja around GenSan hometown
MANILA – Gerald Anderson toured his girlfriend, actress Maja Salvador, in his home town in General Santos City where he spent his childhood.
Anderson shared this at the sidelines of the press conference of his upcoming movie “Halik Sa Hangin.”
Although it was not Salvador’s first time to visit the province, Anderson said: “Ipinakita ko lang kung saan ako lumaki. Nag-camping kami which is first time for me. Ang saya.”
The actor said he is also glad that Salvador is slowly getting closer to his family.
“Okay naman. Kumbaga, day by day naman. It's a process. Ganun talaga ang relasyon eh," he said.
What’s important, Anderson said, is that both of them are grateful for their relationship, as well as the opportunities coming their way.
“Sobra lang kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng blessings. And may panibago akong blessing sa simula pa lang ng taon. What else can I ask for?” he said, referring to “Halik Sa Hangin.”

Isabelle Daza is now a Kapamilya
MANILA -- Actress-host Isabelle Daza is now officially a Kapamilya star.
On Monday afternoon, Daza signed a contract with ABS-CBN and was welcomed by the network's executives led by president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio.
"Napaka-excited ako and overwhelmed with this warm welcome. Coming here, everybody has been welcoming me at kinukuwento ko sa kanila na even the waiter was telling me 'Ma'am welcome to the Kapamilya.' Parang proud na proud siya. It makes me so honored to be part of this family," she said.
Asked why she decided to change networks, Daza replied: "I wanted a new challenge in my life and I want to try something that I haven't done. I want to to expand my horizons and take this journey as an actress naman."
The actress-host admitted it was a hard decision for her to leave the noontime show "Eat Bulaga."
"Nung Saturday last day ko na. It was very emotional lalo na kay Ryzza (Mae Dizon) because she's my little student but they were all very supportive and they all wished me luck and they are excited also to see what I have in store here sa ABS-CBN," she said.
Daza said she signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN for both TV and movies. "Bongga naman siya, 'yun muna," she said.
First project
In the interview, Daza revealed that her first project in her new home is the upcoming series "Nathaniel," with Gerald Anderson as her leading man.
"Yes, kasama ako sa cast ng 'Nathaniel.' I will be working with Gerald Anderson and Shaina (Magdayao), Pokwang and Coney Reyes and amazing cast. I'm so excited for that," said Daza, who will play the girlfriend of Anderson in the upcoming show.
"Ako ay isang lawyer and I work closely with his (Anderson's) mom, Coney Reyes. Kami yung laging magkaka-eksena," she aded.
Daza admitted it was her dream to work with Anderson.
"Si Gerald talaga ang gusto kong makatrabaho kasi nakita ko siya sa 'On The Job' and I saw kung gaano siya nag-grow as an actor and I was very impressed. So siya 'yung number one, that's why I'm so excited to work with him," she explained.
"Next, nakatrabaho ko na si John Lloyd (Cruz), pero marami kayong leading men here to choose from so it's like a buffet," she said.
Daza was part of the movie "It Takes A Man and A Woman" with Cruz and Sarah Geronimo.
Mom's words
Isabelle, the daughter of actress-beauty queen Gloria Diaz, also revealed that her mother singled out Magdayao among her co-stars.
"Ang sinasabi ng mom ko, siyempre 'Do your best, you are only as good as your last scene' at 'Shaina is a good actress, you have to learn from her.' Also she told me -- siyempre my mom is my number one fan -- 'you are magaling.' She always tells me that every day, so parang 'yun ang palagi kong naririnig sa kanya. But she said 'ABS-CBN is a different level and they really expect the best from you," Daza shared.
"She wants me to focus on being an actress also. Parang same lang naman kami," she added.
As part of her preparation for the series, Daza said she will undergo acting workshop.

Why Gerald won't be part of Maja's concert
MANILA -- Actress Maja Salvador's boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, won't be part of her first major concert, "MAJ: The Legal Performer," which will be held at the Music Museum on July 12.
"Gusto namin ihiwalay ang trabaho sa personal. Parang moment ko naman po ito," Salvador explained in a press conference for her concert on Wednesday.
But "The Legal Wife" star stressed that if Anderson will be free during her concert, she would ask the actor to watch the show.
"Pero 'yun nga depende kung may taping o wala. Kung siguro po ay wala siyang 'Dyesebel' taping, kasi everyday po sila nagte-taping ngayon ng Dyesebel," she said.
But she quickly added: "Kung manonood siya sana tago para po makapag-perform ako ng maigi."
In a recent interview, Anderson said he prefers to remain private when it comes to his love life.
To help keep their relationship strong, they also agreed not to work together in a project.
"Napag-usapan namin na ganoon talaga kasi mas maganda na ihiwalay namin 'yung trabaho sa relasyon namin para makatrabaho kami ng maigi," Salvador confirmed.
Salvador feels blessed to have a successful career and Anderson as her boyfriend.
"Isa siyang malaking blessing," Salvador said.

Long wait almost over for Gerald Anderson fans
MANILA – The long wait is almost over for the fans of Gerald Anderson who miss seeing him regularly on television.
The actor’s last series was “Budoy” which ended in the first quarter of 2012. Since then, Anderson’s fans have been waiting for him to star in another teleserye.
Thus, Anderson said he is extremely excited now that his supporters will finally catch a glimpse of what he has been working on in the past months.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Anderson said his upcoming series “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” will soon hit the television screens as part of ABS-CBN’s primetime lineup.
“Sobrang iba siya sa lahat ng ginawa ko ever sa TV. it’s a great project after ‘Budoy’ kasi sobrang layo ng mga characters namin,” he said.
The TV series was originally scheduled to air last summer but due to undisclosed reasons, the release of the series was delayed.
Asked what caused the postponement, the 24-year-old actor said: “Kung napanood niyo po ang trailer, nakita niyo na talagang pinaghirapan po naming lahat iyon, hindi lang mga artista kundi pati director at staff. Talagang matagal 'yung pagbuo ng project.”
Anderson said they didn't want to release the series half-baked.
“Yung ganung klaseng project takes time. Ayaw din namin madaliin. Gusto namin kapag napanood niyo, magustuhan niyo. Ang bawat artista doon, the best ang binigay namin,” he said.
In the soap directed by Jerome Pobocan and Trina Dayrit, Anderson portrays Miguel Dizon, a rich young man who is imprisoned after being accused of rape and frustrated homicide by a woman he meets at a bar, Carla (Diana Zubiri).
Miguel's mother Zenaida (Dawn Zulueta) is seen making desperate pleas for her son's freedom.
"Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" was among the several new TV series launched Tuesday night at ABS-CBN's trade event.

What Gerald has learned from past loves
MANILA – If there is one thing Gerald Anderson has learned from his past relationships, it is to never hide the one he loves.
That's why he finally admitted that he is in a relationship with actress Maja Salvador.
“I would change not hiding the person I love. Wala akong pinagsisihan ni isang bagay sa buhay ko kasi we learn from it, but that, I would change,” he said in the June 2013 issue of StarStudio magazine.
Anderson said this was among the reasons he decided to end all speculations about the real score between him and Salvador. After all, Anderson said he sees no point in still keeping it from the public.
“Why should I hide this? Why should I hide the person I love? Why should I hide the person who gives me inspiration?” he asked.
He added: “'Yun 'yung advice ko to these new kids who are coming out, never hide your relationship. I think that’s why people have the perception na parang ‘Is this guy for real?’ That’s why they get the perception na ginagamit ko 'yung love team.”
The 24-year-old actor said that up to the day of the StarStudio interview , he still cannot believe that Salvador is already his girlfriend.
Since they began going out late last year, the “friendship” of Anderson and Salvador was immediately met with intrigues, especially since Salvador was, at the time, the best friend of actress Kim Chiu, the former girlfriend of the “Budoy” star.
But Anderson said the only way to proceed with their special relationship was to “keep moving.”
“Alam mo kung mag-asawa man 'yan, mag-girlfriend, magkaibigan, may mga bumps 'yan eh. They’ll always go through the bumps. Minsan may malalaking bumps, minsan may maliliiit na bumps. Alam niyo 'yung mga village na exclusive? Di ba ang lalaki ng bumps doon? Parang ganun. Minsan nandoon ka, minsan nandun ka lang sa EDSA, mga maliliit na bumps,” he explained.
“Ang pinakaimportante, you’re still driving at dirediretso ka. Kung sino man yung nakasakay sa kotse mo, just keep moving with that person. Huwag mo ilalagay sa reverse dahil kapag nilagay mo sa reverse eh di babalik ka lang sa hump,” he added.
After his StarStudio interview, Anderson said he doesn’t want to further discuss his relationship with Salvador.

Gerald mum on issue with Maricel Soriano
MANILA, Philippines – Actor Gerald Anderson has requested not to talk about the incident involving him and veteran actress Maricel Soriano.
During the premiere night of the movie “Chinese Zodiac” on Tuesday, Anderson said he is doing perfectly fine but does not want to speak about the matter.
“It's not the right time right now para sumagot sa mga isyu. Pero tuloy, tuloy [ang teleserye],” he said.
Last week, reports on Soriano's alleged outburst on the set of the upcoming drama series "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" circulated online.
Soriano's management and that of ABS-CBN's -- which produces the TV series -- have since decided to exclude the Diamond Star from the cast.
Star Magic, ABS-CBN's talent management arm, however, backed Anderson's "unassailable personal character and professional behavior," following the alleged incident.
Working with Dawn
Following the incident, actress Dawn Zulueta has been chosen to replace Soriano in the upcoming show.
Asked how he feels to be working with Zulueta, Anderson said: “Sobrang [masaya]. We're very blessed na napasama siya sa cast namin.”
“Hindi pa kami dirediretso kasi 'yung script and everything but [we are taking it] day by day. Happy ako dahil may project ako at may bagong blessings,” the actor added.
Aside from Anderson and Zulueta, “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” will also feature Rayver Cruz, Cristine Reyes and Diana Zubiri.

Gerald Anderson not closing his doors on love
MANILA, Philippines – Actor Gerald Anderson admitted he is not closing his doors to anyone who has been part of his past, saying he never knows what the future holds.
Speaking before a pool of reporters, Anderson said he may not be communicating as much with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo anymore but he still considers the singer as someone special.
“Sabi ko nga sa iyo, paano magiging closed 'yan eh hindi naman natin kayang basahin ang future. Hindi na gaano, hindi na [kami] masyado [nakakapag-usap]. Oo naman, oo naman [espesyal pa rin siya],” he said.
The same holds true for his former girlfriend Kim Chiu, who again is his leading lady in the Star Magic movie “24/7 in Love.”
“Sino ba ang nagko-close talaga ng door? Mahirap 'yan, paano 'yan? Siyempre hindi naman natin puwedeng basahin 'yung future kung anong mangyayari,” he said.
According to Anderson, he is not stopping himself for falling in love again but as of the moment, he is not really looking for love.
“Lagi naman akong open sa lahat basta tamang timing at kung masaya ako at masaya siya kung sino man 'yun. Pero alam mo 'yun, hindi ko naman hinahanap o alam mo 'yun, hindi ko naman kailangan hanapin 'yun,” he said.
Anderson said he just prays that the right girl would come to his life at the right time.
But if given the choice, Anderson said he would like his next girlfriend to be someone not from show business.
“Given a choice sana non-showbiz para alam mo 'yun maiba naman, tahimik. Pero you’ll never know, you’ll never know, hindi ko pa rin masabi,” he said.
