LOOK: Jericho Rosales' son graduates from high school

Jericho Rosales' son has graduated from high school, and the actor took to social media to express how proud he is as a father.

Over the weekend, Jericho posted a photo of Santino wearing his toga on the day of his graduation at Colegio San Agustin.

Another photo shows Santino with his classmates, all of them wearing huge smiles.

“Dad’s very proud. Love you, Santino,” Jericho wrote in the caption.

Santino’s mom, Kai Palomares, also celebrated the young man’s graduation with a touching Instagram post.

“Today, our son graduated from 12th grade. He will be off to university in a few months to continue pursuing his dreams and passion. I have always been very proud of you, Santino, and I will never stop cheering you in all the roads that you want to take in life,” she said.

“I thank you for being an awesome son! God bless you son! We love you very very much! Keep on soaring high.”

Palomares also thanked Jericho and his wife, model-host Kim Jones, for “making our son’s family whole in the best modern way which all know how to do!”

How Jericho won Kim Jones' heart

MANILA – While he already had a crush on Kim Jones when they first met, Jericho Rosales revealed it was not until months later that they went out and began to get to know each other in a deeper level.

In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez for her column on The Philippine Star, Jones said she had just arrived in the Philippines when she met Rosales and that she wasn’t ready to get into a relationship.

Jones was born in England but lived in Australia all her life with her mother. Jones said she decided to move to Manila to see what’s in store for her in the country.

“When we first met, we clicked on a friendly level. I was new here and I didn’t want to get into a relationship. But I sort of started to miss his friendship, so I asked him if he wanted to hang out,” she said.

Rosales said this was after Jones rejected his first invitation that they go out on a date to watch the concert of The Script.

“I bought two tickets to The Script concert without even asking her if she wanted to watch. Thing is, I just had a tooth operation and my mouth was so swollen but I was so confident to ask her out. She didn’t say yes. I ended up watching with a guy friend,” he said. “The truth is, I was really hurt.”

But his efforts were worth it as he was able to prove his real intention for Jones.

“You see, she came as a surprise. I have always had to pursue, and look, but with us, I just gave in to what life gave me. And life made it easy for me. I went with the flow. I am at my happiest now,” he said.

Now just months away from their wedding, Jones said she is grateful for all the things which she has learned from her past relationship.

“It’s a lot of things. I found it fundamental that we had to have the same faith, we had to want the same things, we had to want to grow together. I just had one relationship before this and it was four years, I learned what I wanted and what I didn’t,” she said.

Rosales and Jones are set to have a beach wedding in Boracay in May.

Jericho proposes to girlfriend

Actor Jericho Rosales on Sunday asked his girlfriend, TV host Kim Jones, to marry him.

In his personal Instagram account, Rosales posted a picture of Jones showing off her engagement ring as he thanked his soon-to-be wife for saying yes.

“Ok here's the real one. I love you, Miss Jones. You are the love of my life. Thank you for saying YES (to forever) to me. Happy birthday! God is amazing! Yeeeeeehaaa! We are engaged!!!!” he said.

Jones, for her part, also thanked Rosales for making her the “happiest lady in the world.”

In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Rosales shared how he proposed to Jones.

“I just had that feeling in my heart na I have to propose sa Church. It cannot be like kaming dalawang lang. I felt like I had to propose in front of people na hindi konektado sa akin. [The Church] allowed it,” he said.

“I went up onstage, the pastor called me. He was talking about how much God loves us. And then pag-akyat ko, I opened up with ‘Why me? Why does God love me after everything that I have done in life? He has an unconditional love for us.’ And then the next question was why me pa rin but take out the letter H and add another M: W-Y-M-M-Y, which means will you marry me,” Rosales added.

After his proposal, Rosales shared that he and Jones were both crying.

Rosales said they are planning to have a beach wedding but they don’t have a specific date for the occasion yet.

In his previous interviews, Rosales admitted that he and Jones have already been talking about settling down.

It was in February 2012 when Rosales first introduced Jones as his girlfriend to the public. Appearing on “KrisTV,” Rosales showed a picture of Jones and said they became a couple since late 2011.

Jones, a Filipino-British model who grew up in Australia, is the host of the lifestyle show "Etcetera."

John Estrada replaces Jericho in new teleserye

MANILA, Philippines – Actor John Estrada has been tapped to replace Jericho Rosales in the upcoming series "Against All Odds," topbilled by Judy Ann Santos, according to castmember Sam Milby.

“Si John Estrada na ang kasama. I don’t know kung dapat ko sabihin pero last year pa kasama na si John sa original cast. 'Yung role na ‘yan kay John Estrada," Milby said in an interview with entertainment website Push.com.ph.

"Tapos nagkaroon ng ‘A Beautiful Affair’ kaya hindi niya puwedeng gawin yung ‘Against All Odds.’ Eh dahil tumigil na kami sa taping at that time, [nagkataon na] natapos na yung ‘A Beautiful Affair.’ Dapat nga si Jericho ang naging kasama sa teleserye. I don’t know what actually happened with that,” he added.

Milby also denied that Rosales backed out of the series because of billing problems.

He said the issue was never raised and that it was really a conflict of schedule that was behind the change in the casting.

Milby, however, admitted that he never got the chance to talk to Rosales about the matter.

Meanwhile, the actor happily shared that he has resumed taping “Against All Odds” along with his current series “Kahit Konting Pagtingin.”

“Every T-TH-S light ang taping for ‘Kahit Konting Pagtingin’ tapos M-W-F ‘Against All Odds’ heavy drama naman. Ito ang first time in seven years that I’ve been in the business na may dalawa akong sabay na teleserye,” he said.

While he rarely gets time to rest due to his hectic schedule, Milby said he feels blessed to have two shows.

He said he is also looking forward to tape scenes with Santos.

“First time ko siyang kasama sa soap. Siyempre 'yung level ni Judy Ann magaling talaga. Ayaw ko mag-suffer acting ko dahil sa Tagalog. Kailangan talaga todo lahat ng concentration sa character at sa Tagalog. I can say na 'yung desire ko to grow as a person, as an artist, has never been this great. I just want to keep growing so much in everything. Happy ako,” he said.

Jericho backs out of series with Judy Ann, KC

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Jericho Rosales admitted that he felt bad that he needed to back out of his supposed project with actress Judy Ann Santos and KC Concepcion.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Rosales cited conflicts in schedule as the reason he won’t be part of the upcoming television series anymore.

“Wala namang tampo tampo or anything but the management spoke to the production team and they said they totally understand. I’m a little bit sad siyempre kasi feeling ko na-let down ko sila. They are expecting na kasali na ako pero biglang hindi na,” he said,

While he will no longer be part of the cast, Rosales said he wishes the show well.

“I'm sure it will be a hit and they look like masasayang magkakasama naman. Maybe [I can work with them again] on the next soap,” he said.

For now, Rosales is looking forward to doing his international project which will be shot in Malaysia, in the Philippines and some parts of Europe.

“It's a TV series na ipapalabas sa Malaysia. We got the offer last year, and the guys from the network there came over para makipag-meeting sa amin. We said yes. Exciting siya,” he said.

He is supposed to be paired with actress Kristine Hermosa in the project but Rosales said he is not sure if the actress already accepted it.

Asked if he will be gone for a long time because of this project, Rosales said: “Siguro. Hindi ko pa masasabi. 'Yung schedule kasi nila the least a couple of months. Pero maganda ang schedule nila eh so okay naman.”

“Nothing is final final final but the offer is there, the guys went here and then we talked about schedule and stuff,” he added.

Meanwhile, the actor clarified that this international project was not the reason he backed out of his supposed series with Santos and Concepcion.

“Hindi naman. Nagkataon lang kasi na-delay din ng na-delay 'yung soap. Gusto ko sana talagang gawin but we were supposed to start November last year – no earlier than that pa because I remember accepting the project August or September and then na-delay ng konti because of schedule issues so hindi ko na... I didn't choose something over something,” he explained.

Jericho in high spirits over Hollywood raves

MANILA, Philippines -- Coming off a string of successes on TV, the big screen and recently in the music scene, Jericho Rosales feels particularly triumphant over the international acclaim he has received for his latest independent film.

"Alagwa," headlined by Rosales, child star Bugoy Carino, and Malaysian Kapamilya star Carmen Soo, recently participated in the 17th Busan International Film Festival, which concluded last October 13.

Directed by Ian Lorenos, "Alagwa" earned raves from international media, on top of being received warmly by Korean audiences in Busan.

"Kung ano 'yung in-expect ko, mga 10% lang nung lahat ng nangyari," Rosales told reporters at the sidelines of a Tuesday fashion show by local clothing line Collezione C2, which he endorses.

The Kapamilya actor, who also recently launched his newest solo album "Korona," was recounting his experience as the Philippine's representative to the international film fest.

"It was the longest red carpet ever na nilakaran ko, and lahat ng nandun, karamihan, movie fans, film fans, and lahat sila mahal nila 'yung festival," Rosales said.

According to Rosales, large screens were displayed along the red carpet. The screens projected those who were involved in the participating films -- from the producer and the director to the actors.

"Lahat kami, nung naglalakad kami sa red carpet, pinapalakpakan kami. Sobrang laki ng venue, and we were well-received, lahat ng mga stars," said Rosales, who had previously starred in an internationally released film, "Subject: I Love You," just last year.

"Doon pa lang naramdaman ko 'yung support ng mga tao sa Busan, and that made me feel so good as an actor. Even Kim (Jones, Rosales' current girlfriend) was so happy, kasi magkasama kami lumakad. Ibang klase 'yung experience talaga," he added.

In "Alagwa," which has the international title "Breakaway," Rosales plays a single father whose 9-year-old son (Carino), becomes a victim of human trafficking. The premiere screening of the film in Busan, the Kapamilya leading man recounted, was particularly well-received.

"The first screening, puno siya and the last also, meaning they (audience) liked the film siguro, at talagang supportive sila sa mga pelikula. So sana ganoon dito sa Pilipinas," Rosales said.

Another source of triumph for the ABS-CBN actor were the reviews for his performance in the movie. One in particular, from the international trade magazine Hollywood Reporter, "wowed" Rosales upon reading it.

In the review, Rosales' portrayal was described as "nagging, brusque and hyper-critical." The review also said the actor "expertly conveys the over-compensation of the single parent in the tough love Robert shows his son."

The Hollywood Reporter called the Filipino movie, which is also co-produced by Rosales, a "powerful" film about human trafficking and a "small gem portraying a father-son relationship with nothing fake or sentimental about it."

For Rosales, being recognized as an actor is "nakakataba ng puso."

"Makikita mo 'yung connection sa mga tao, plus we got a review from the Hollywood Reporter nga, so wow. It was a very blessed trip," Rosales said.

MANILA, Philippines - Finally, Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero met actor Jericho Rosales, who is said to be the "one true love" of actress Heart Evangelista.

Escudero, the rumored boyfriend of Evangelista, said he does not feel awkward meeting Rosales, who made a guest appearance on "Kris TV."

The senator is a guest co-host on the ABS-CBN morning show.

"Hindi, hindi. Friends kami," he told "Kris TV" host Kris Aquino.

Rosales, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on the show, said there is nothing wrong about meeting the senator.

"Wala naman akong nararamdaman, wala," said the actor, who is now happy in his relationship with Filipino-Australian Kim Jones.

Fil-British model is Jericho Rosales' newest girlfriend

MANILA, Philippines - Jericho Rosales has found himself a new squeeze in budding model, Kim Jones.

Jones is a on-the-set reporter on the lifestyle show "ETCETERA,' which premiered October 23, 2011. Her Facebook info entry says that she’s “a Filipino-British model who although has spent most of her life in Australia is now embarking on her TV hosting debut here in the Philippines. As the roving reporter on ETC's newest show ETCETERA she is updating the stylish young on the latest events, trends and fashion & beauty tips direct from the scene.”

Born to a half-Filipino, half-Spanish mom and British dad, Jones spent some of her younger years in Adelaide, Australia. A press release for "ETCETERA" says that Jones is "not afraid to break out into song and dance.”

Although Jericho does not seem interested in opening up his private life to his public, past reports indicate he has a model-girlfriend whom he doesn’t want to be named.

“There will be a time upang pag-usapan natin ang lovelife ko,” he said in a past interview when queried about his supposed girlfriend. “"Siguro ‘pag Valentine's day, pakikilala ko siya sa inyo,” he added.

Interestingly, Jones uploaded a series of pictures while windsurfing in San Fernando City, La Union on her Facebook account, some of which showed Jericho in the background, looking at other surfers.

Rosales is passionate about surfing and Jones seems exceedingly enthusiastic about exploring the waters, too.

The actor is also wearing a Union Jack ring, which probably has something to do about Jones’ United Kingdom origins.
