Why Xian feels friendship with Kim might level up
"Para sa akin, the best invitation sa Valentine’s is surprise," he said during his live interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday.
Although they have yet to take their relationship to the next level, Lim vowed to just continue making the actress feel special.
“Parati kong pinapakita sa kanya na nandito ako, parati ako nagdadala ng bulaklak or mga favorite niya, ng mga chocolates. Kung gumana 'yung pa-cute ko sa kanya, malalaman natin,” he said.
Lim understands that it is important that they build a strong foundation as friends first if ever they indeed become a couple in the future.
“I think to get a really good relationship, dapat 'yung friendship niyo matibay ang foundation para hindi naman kapag nandoon na kayo, medyo rocky,” he said.
During his interview on “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” last February 4, Lim gave a meaningful answer when he was asked if he and Chiu are already a couple.
"Nararamdaman ko, malapit na eh. I think lume-level up na ako," he teased without going into details.
Asked why he was able to say such thing, Lim said: “Nararamdaman ko kasi na—nasasamahan na niya ako. Kasi dati parati kaming may chaperone. Hindi kami pwedeng makanood ng sine. Ngayon sumasama na siya sa akin, sumasama na siya sa mga kaibigan ko lalo na 'yung lola at mommy ko.”
With a little more effort, Chiu said in a separate interview that Lim is close to becoming her boyfriend.
"Malapit na, konti na lang, konting push na lang," Chiu said.

Martin-Pops, Ogie-Regine concert in CNN Valentine's list
MANILA -- The February 14 concert of two of the Philippines' most recognizable singing pairs is among the Valentine's date recommendations of the travel section of CNN's international news site.
"Foursome," the joint concert of celebrity couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, and former husband-and-wife Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez, is included in CNN Travel's list of "50 cities, 50 last-minute Valentine's dates" published Wednesday.
The local Valentine concert will be held on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
On CNN Travel, the singers' romantic ties are mentioned in the show's description:
"Yes, they were once married, then divorced, but Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez still love making music together, which they’ll do at a historic Valentine’s concert with a new pair of singing lovebirds, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez."
Aside from "Foursome," the 50-item list includes Valentine's Day events held in Barcelona, Spain; Cape Town, South Africa; London, UK; Maldives; New Orleans, United States; Seoul, South Korea; and Venice, Italy, among others.

For some, Valentine’s Day becomes SAD – Single Awareness Day. While some flock to malls and restaurants to celebrate, some maintain Feb. 14 is just another ordinary day.
Local celebs share their thoughts and plans on the upcoming “red-letter” day.
For young actress Kim Chiu, ditching this year’s Valentine’s is something she will most likely do.
“Parang gusto ko na lang lampasan ang February… Kung may date? Wala, sure ‘yon. Sanay naman ako,” she told ABS-CBN News. Kim is currently being linked to her “My Binondo Girl” leading man Xian Lim but she maintains, “Friends lang kami.”
Does this have something to do with her former reel and real life partner Gerald Anderson’s blooming relationship with Sarah Geronimo? The two reportedly exchanged gifts last Christmas and are looking forward to a date this Valentine’s – if Mommy Divine will let them.
Although unofficially together, Angel Locsin admitted that she loves Phil Younghusband and considers him “mine.” The two have been exclusively dating for a year now. Angel will be dating John Lloyd Cruz, her “Unofficially Yours” leading man, when their film premieres on Feb. 14.
For sweethearts Zanjoe Marudo and Bea Alonzo, their date will have to take place before or after Feb. 14 due to work commitments.
Zanjoe will shoot a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode with the newest kapamilya Iza Calzado on the 14th.
“My Beloved” co-stars and couple of almost three years now, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera will spend date night after Dingdong guests on Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez’s Valentine concert at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Young love is in the air for “Growing Up” stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Both kapamilya stars expressed the possibility of dating each other come Valentine’s.
The “Mara Clara” star said she is open to dates, if permitted by her parents. “Kung papayagan naman puwede naman kasi wala rin naman akong gagawin sa Valentine’s eh. Usually ako sa friends ko lang din naman ako sasama, manunuod lang ng movie, ganun,” she was quoted in an interview with Push.
