Gerald mum on Kim's revelation about cheating ex
MANILA – Gerald Anderson refused to comment on Kim Chiu’s statement last week on “Gandang Gabi Vice” that she knows first-hand how it feels to be cheated on by her former boyfriend.
While Chiu did not mention Anderson’s name in the interview, the actress told host Vice Ganda that she only had one past relationship. Both former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemates, Chiu and Anderson broke up in 2010 amid controversies surrounding their relationship.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News and other reporters over the weekend, Anderson politely declined to say anything about the matter.
He said: “No [ayaw ko po mag-comment]. Basta manood po kayo ng ‘Everyday I Love You’ and ‘Etiquette for Mistresses.’”
The latter movie is Chiu’s latest big screen project where she plays the role of the other woman.
Anderson instead spoke at length about his experience working with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
“Okay sila. Sobrang seryoso ako kapag sa trabaho eh. Kapag nakikita ko sila na very light, sobrang magaan katrabaho, kita ko sa mga mukha nila na they are having fun. Ang tagal ko nang hindi ako ganun. Dati ganun ako. So parang bumalik 'yung I’m just having fun. Kahit mahirap 'yung roles namin, at the end of the day, nagagawa naming light,” he said.
Asked what he thinks of Soberano and Gil’s team-up, Anderson said: “Effortless lang sila. Tulad ng sinabi ko, they are just having fun. They are a natural. It just comes out kaya siguro maraming natutuwa sa kanila.”
However, he said he is uncertain whether the two are already a couple based on what he saw while they were working.
“Hindi ko alam. Hindi ko masasagot iyan. Pero kung ano 'yung nakita ko, they are having fun. Mahirap magsalita. Marami silang nai-inspire so 'yun naman ang importante doon,” he said.
But does he miss having a special someone every time he sees his two co-stars in “Everyday I Love You”?
“Oo siyempre naman. Lalaki po ako. I have feelings also. I go through mga ups and downs also. Tao din ako, may nami-miss din po ako. Pero ganun po talaga ang buhay. Isa sa mga natutunan ko sa movie na ito, minsan sa simula ng relasyon, sobrang saya niyo and then one day gigising ka realizing na baka I’m holding her back from something para ma-achieve niya 'yung mga dreams niya or baka [the relationship] is holding me back para sa self-achievement ko. Like I said, tao po ako so may nami-miss din po ako,” he explained.
Despite this, Anderson stressed that he is not yet ready to enter a new relationship.
“Hindi ko pa nga nakikita 'yung bahay ko for the last two weeks. Kumabaga, anong oras ang maibibigay ko sa magiging girlfriend ko? Ayaw ko maging selfish at maging unfair sa kanya. I don’t want to go through something like that,” he said.
Anderson’s last girlfriend was Maja Salvador.

Xian Lim to do soap with Jessy Mendiola
MANILA -- Xian Lim admitted that he feels nervous doing a series with his new leading lady, Jessy Mendiola.
"Oo naman, of course [may kaba]," Lim told reporters in an interview on Thursday at the sidelines of the launching of his second album, "XL2."
Even if he has a new leading lady, Lim said he is confident that his fans will be there to show their support.
"Kaya po ako bilib sa kanila, kasi they always assure us na they will always be there for us, maski magkahiwalay yung project, nauna si Kim na magkaroon ng project ay nandito sila all throughout," said the actor, who rose to fame for his love team with actress Kim Chiu.
He added that he will work hard for his newest TV project.
"Siyempre naman po ay pagbubutihin namin. Pupunta kami sa set prepared. Siyempre hindi naman kami gigising na, 'ah wala lang ito.' We will do our best para sa lahat," he said.
Meanwhile, Lim said he is also set to do two movie projects with Chiu.
Their last project together was the hit movie "Bride for Rent."
"Nabalitaan ko nga nung last contract signing may dalawa kaming pelikula together, one with Ms. Ai Ai delas Alas and another one with [director] Joyce Bernal," he said.

Xian: I'm single, ready to mingle!
The 24-year-old actor drew surprised reactions with the candid confession, which he offered while on stage at the event held by a skincare brand he endorses.
Shortly after the press event, Lim was quizzed by reporters on his status and his ties with Chiu, who has referred to her relationship with the actor as "special."
Asked if he was serious with his statement, Lim said, "Why not?"
"Nagpapasalamat ako kasi feeling ko 'yung mga tumili sa right side, mga fans 'yon, e," he added, referring to the shrieks that followed his candid statement earlier.
Lim was then asked if his being single means that Chiu is "out of the picture." The actor only shrugged and mentioned his endorsed brand.
When a reporter noted that he seemed to be avoiding dicussing Chiu, the actor only said, "We have a very special relationship [at] para sa amin lang 'yon."
He repeated this when asked further about the actress.
Unsure about 'KimXi' team-up
Chiu and Lim's "love team" took off in 2011, and they have since co-starred in three TV series and two films in leading roles.
Fans of the rumored couple, dubbed "KimXi," were surprised when Chiu was paired with Coco Martin in the ongoing period drama "Ikaw Lamang," following the box-office success of the tandem's last film "Bride for Rent."
While Lim said he is set to do a new movie and a TV series, he could not confirm whether the projects would be with Chiu.
"Wala pa po, e," he said, when asked to share details about his upcoming projects. "Hindi pa po nag-sa-start, but as soon as we start, I'm going to let everyone know."
Lim was also asked for his reaction to the intrigues that hounded him recently, following his controversial number with an impersonator of Chiu which was telecast live.
When a reporter noted how Chiu was vocal of her support for him during that time, Lim only said, "Maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng... everyone [for[ being there, thank you."
"There are so many things to be grateful for, like this event... I feel really blessed, and there are so many things coming up my way, so I'm just really excited," he added.
"I'm just here to work hard and prove myself to people."
Lim, who is considered as one of the top endorsers in local showbiz, said he did not expect being given so many "blessings" just five years into his career.
"Even noong nagsimula ako sa mga teleserye, I didn't really expect I would go this fast. So maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng nagtitiwala," he said.

How Kim Chiu will spend Valentine's day
MANILA – It seems Xian Lim has yet to ask Kim Chiu for a date on February 14 as the actress admitted she is not sure if she will actually celebrate Valentine’s Day.
In an interview with entertainment site Push.com.ph, Chiu said she would be on the set of her upcoming series that day, leaving no time for planning something special.
“Naku, hindi ko pa alam," she said. "Friday ba ‘yun? May taping ata 'yun.”
Chiu also said she is not expecting anything on February 14.
“Ay wala, huwag ka na masyado mangarap para hindi masyado mataas 'yung expectation mo. Baka mag-expect ka ng something tapos hindi mangyari malungkot ka pa. Chill lang, relax,” she advised.
Prodded about the real score between her and Lim, the actress replied: “Kayo talaga, hindi naman kailangan mag-open up. Masaya naman 'yung mga tao, ganun. Okay na 'yun. Balato muna.”

Top taxpayer Kim Chiu warns Napoles
MANILA -- Actress Kim Chiu warned Janet Lim-Napoles, the businesswoman implicated in the P10-billion pork barrel scam, that angered taxpayers including herself are out to find her.
"Lahat naman siguro ng mga tao, pag makita nila [si Napoles], papatayin na nila eh," the 23-year-old actress said, laughing, when asked for her thoughts on Napoles and her alleged part in the controversial scam.
On Wednesday, President Benigno Aquino III said the government has put up a P10-million reward leading to the arrest of Napoles, who is wanted for the illegal detention case filed against her and her brother Reynald Lim by former employee and whistleblower Benhur Luy.
Expressing support for the massive anti-pork barrel rally held last Monday, Chiu added, "Kahit wala ako do'n, ramdam ko naman 'yung iba, galit, naiiyak sa galit. Siyempre hindi biro ang pera, pinaghirapan mo 'yon and then mapupunta lang sa mga taong hindi karapat-dapat."
Chiu, who is seen as a prized talent of ABS-CBN, lamented the alleged misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), noting the amount of tax celebrities like herself pay the government.
"Ibang klase naman 'yung binabayad naming tax, at hindi namin alam kung saan napupunta," Chiu said shortly after a press conference held Tuesday for her month-long starring stint in the weekend fantasy anthology "Wansapantaym."
In a report released by the Bureau of Internal Revenue in April, Chiu was named as one of the top individual taxpayers in the country, placing 133rd overall with P6.7 million in regular income tax paid in 2011.
"Sana, 'yun nga, clean government. And 'yung 'Million People March,' isa lang 'yung sa mga [paraan] na pinapakita ng mga Pilipino na, 'Hustisya naman para sa amin,'" she said.
No to politics
Asked if she would be willing to enter politics to actively address the problem, Chiu said, "Hindi ko kaya!"
"Wala akong enough knowledge na hawakan 'yung sambayanang Pilipino, hindi. Ang gusto ko lang tumulong, in my own little way. 'Yun lang," said the actress, who actively took part in relief operations for the victims of the recent floods that hit Metro Manila and surrounding provinces.
Addressing criticisms for the supposed publicity she gets from photos showing her engaged in various charity events, Chiu shrugged off her "bashers," saying such posts on social media can help encourage others to join her cause.
"Siguro sa aming mga artista, it's a way of telling the people na, 'Hoy, kayo, tumulong na rin kayo.' Dahil sa social media, sa Instagram, marami kaming mga followers, and 'yung mga followers na 'yon -- 'yung iba do'n basher -- 'yung iba do'n na-inspire mo na tumulong din sila.
"Hindi ko naman gusto na picture-an 'yung sarili ko. Pero merong mga taong nagpo-post, 'Ay ako din, parang gusto ko rin tumulong.' So it's to inspire people, not to publicize yourself," she said.
