Tony Labrusca used to be a shoe salesman, cashier

Before joining showbiz, newly launched Star Magic Circle artist Tony Labrusca juggled several jobs in Canada, where he was based with his family.

Labrusca, how entered local showbiz in 2016 via the talent search "Pinoy Boyband Superstar," recalled how he used to work "day in, day out" to earn a living. 

He was at one point a cook, a shoe salesman, and a cashier all at same time.

The "La Luna Sangre" actor then became a barber, a job he referred to as having genuine interest in. In fact, Labrusca said, he actively sought out learning about hairstyling.

Speaking with Boy Abunda on the host's eponymous late-night talk show, Labrusca answered in the affirmative to the possibility of putting up a barber shop business, "pag mayaman na ako."

In the interview, Labrusca also talked about his choices of sports when he was still based in Canada, such as gymnastics and parkour. Both don't involve team play, he pointed out; that way, "I can only be blame myself, whether I win or if I fail."

WATCH: Jinri Park asked about indecent proposals

MANILA - Korean model and former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Jinri Park answered various questions in an exclusive online interview with Boy Abunda.

And one of the questions in the "Tonight with Boy Abunda" online interview published on Monday is about indecent proposals.

Park laughed when she was asked if she had "encountered an offer from a rich, old man."

"Honestly, I've never [had indecent proposals]. I'm like, is that a bad thing or a good thing? I don't know," she joked.

Park was evicted from the "PBB" house over the weekend after receiving the least number of votes among the nominated housemates.


A former FHM cover girl and gravure model, Park said she joined "PBB" to prove to her bashers that she is more than just "sexy."

A self-confessed introvert, her stint in the show was marred with criticism from her fellow housemates for being distant. She was named as the first grand finalist of this season.

How Marlon Stockinger won Pia's heart

MANILA – Not a lot of people know how Filipino-Swiss race car driver Marlon Stockinger won the heart of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

In an interview on “The Bottomline,” Wurtzbach confessed to host Boy Abunda that it was Stockinger’s efforts to fly across the globe just to get to know her more that made her fall for him.

“We’ve known each other for a while but we really got to know each other more when he went to visit me in New York. That’s where I really appreciated the effort because that’s the first time somebody has flown from the other side of the world to see me,” she said.

“Hindi naman niya alam kung ano ang mangyayari sa amin. He just wanted to get to know me more. I appreciate that. He really makes an effort. He knows how busy I am. He knows I can’t fly to him, then he flies to me,” she added.

Wurtzbach said she loves how Stockinger is comfortable with himself that he just lets her shine in fulfilling her job as Miss Universe.

“Sa totoo lang, mahirap makahanap ng lalaki na magiging komportable sa klase ng trabaho ko kasi it’s so easy to say na ‘Paano ka mahihirapan eh Miss Universe ka? I’m sure guys would be lining up.’ The truth is, there’s no line outside. Guys get intimidated also because of my personality,” she explained.

Wurtzbach also said that she feels at ease with Stockinger.

“He knows me as Pia. That’s good because I don’t have to hide anything from him. I can be completely honest. Yun talaga ang hinahanap ko sa lalaki,” she said.

When her schedule is not too hectic, Wutzbach said she also makes sure to watch Stockinger’s races. Pia admitted that she thinks Stockinger's job is dangerous, but added that she doesn't get nervous watching his races.

“Yes. I think it is but I don’t worry because I know he has control. But I do get emotional. I remember, one time I watched his race and he was doing so well and he got cut by this green Lamborghini. Nainis ako, ‘Oh my gosh nakakainis yung isang kotse na yun. Sino yun?’ I’m cheering for him. He is also cheering for me,” she said.

The pair first confirmed their relationship last Monday.

You do not own my humanity, Boy Abunda tells Pacquiao

MANILA - An irate Boy Abunda, the most popular gay television host in the country, has lashed out at world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, who denounced people in a same-sex marriage as "worse than animals."

Abunda, who is in a relationship with his partner for more than three decades, criticized the senatorial aspirant for "crossing the line" with derogatory remarks.

"Kung ang tao ay nanakit, nangyuyurak ng karapatan ng tao, eh gugustuhin ko na po maging hayop," Abunda said in the Tuesday episode of his late night talk show. "Kung ang ibig sabihin po ng hayop ay gumagalang, nagmamahal, then I am an animal."

He then equated the struggle of the LGBT community for equality to that of America's civil rights movement during the 1960s, as well as to the struggle of women for the right to vote.

He also quoted US President Barack Obama, former US senator Hillary Clinton, and Pope Francis with regard to their viewpoints towards the rights of the LGBTs.

"Why am I saying this Manny? Dahil gusto kong malaman mo na hindi sila tumigil sa kalalaban para sa kanilang mga karapatan," Abunda explained.

"At kami sa LGBT community, hindi rin kami titigil hanggang sa dulo ng buhay namin, hanggang kamatayan ipaglalaban namin ang karapatan to equality and to dignity. Dahil ninakaw ito sa amin."

"I am not begging Manny Pacquiao for dignity. I am not begging you for respect. I am not begging you for my humanity because you do not own my humanity. Akin iyon. That's my birthright."

He also said he will not vote for Pacquaio in the upcoming elections, much like gay comedian Vice Ganda, who earlier voiced his disgust over the boxer-politician's controversial remarks.

"Tatakbo ka bilang senador?" Abunda asked. "Ito ang aking katanungan, palagay mo ba iboboto ko ba ang isang tao na ang tingin sa akin ay hindi tao? Iboboto ko ba ang isang tao na ang tingin sa akin ay mas masahol pa sa hayop. Manny, ang kasagutan --salita mo, common sense."

Pacquiao has apologized after facing severe criticism, but maintained that he is against same-sex marriage.

"Hindi po nagbabago ang aking desisyon na against po ako sa same-sex marriage at iyan po ang paniniwala ko. Ang pagkakamali ko lang po ay ikinumpara ko ang tao sa hayop. I am humbling myself before you and before God," he said.

WATCH: Boy Abunda shows result of HIV test

MANILA - In addressing the stigma surrounding HIV or human immunodeficiency virus, TV host Boy Abunda showed on live television Tuesday the result of his recent HIV test, which he took as part of the United Nations Population Fund.

Abunda, whose result was non-reactive, delved into the topic during the live episode of "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," amid news of the rise in cases of HIV in the Philippines.

Of undergoing the test, he said: "Nakakatakot ho talaga, may kaba. Nakakakaba dahil, what if? It is important that we know. Karapatan ho natin."

"Ang laking kaginhawan sa ating lahat pag nalaman natin [na tayo ay negatibo sa sakit]. Pag positive, makakahingi po tayo ng tulong," he added, mentioning organizations concerned with HIV.

The showbiz veteran discussed trends in HIV-related cases, vulnerable sectors and age brackets, transmission and prevention of HIV, the importance of getting tested, and why the stigma attached to HIV should be addressed.

Boy Abunda thanks Kris, Gretchen for their support

MANILA – “What good did I do to deserve the love and friendship of these two girls?”

These were the words of Boy Abunda as he thanked Gretchen Barretto and Kris Aquino for their support when he was recently hospitalized for liver abscess.

Speaking on “The Buzz” on Sunday, Abunda narrated how Barretto and Aquino would make him feel comfortable despite his illness.

“When I was in the hospital, hindi pwedeng pumasok sa kwarto. Pumupunta [si Gretchen] tapos I would hear her voice, ‘Ito ang ulam ha? Ito ang sinigang. Iinitin niyo ito at siya lang ang kakain ha?’ There were days when I would hear her talk, ‘Bakit ang tagal-tagal niya? Ano ba ang paliwanag, ano ba ang sakit?’” Abunda recalled.

Abunda, meanwhile, described Aquino as a “librarian” who prepared the books for him to read and the movies and series for him to watch while at the hospital.

“[Si Gretchen] 'yung type na sa ospital, present and all. Ako nagbibigay ng space. May balance,” Aquino said.

Abunda returned to "The Buzz" on Sunday after weeks of absence due to an illness. Upon his return, he thanked those who wished him well while he was recovering after undergoing an aspiration of the liver abscess.

Now that he is up and about again, Abunda said he aims to live a Christ-centered life.

“Sana hindi na ako maging mayabang sa harap ng Diyos. Sana ipagpatuloy ko 'yung listening to the whisper, listening to him. Kasi
'yun po ang pagkukulang ko, na hindi ho ako nakinig. I was not listening," Abunda admitted.

“I’m looking forward to a life na sentro ang Diyos sa buhay ko dahil sa pagkakataong ito. I’m looking forward to a quieter, simpler life. Pangako ko 'yun,” he said.

'Awesome' Enchong shrugs off rumors he's gay

MANILA -- Actor Enchong Dee, who expressed happiness in both his career and personal life, shrugged off persistent rumors that he is gay.

Even if he recently confirmed that he has a non-showbiz girlfriend, Dee's critics remain unconvinced, insisting the actor is just making up stories to cover up his real sexual preference.


"Eh di kung ano ang gusto nilang isipin, eh ganoon naman talaga. Basta ako, I am happy right now and I just always say na I stay awesome kasi kung ganoon ang buhay nila, wala naman akong magagawa," Dee said on Thursday.

He also laughed off talk about his so-called "imaginary" girlfriend.

"Natatawa nga ako. Parang sabi ko the last time na may imaginary friend ako, siguro I was 2 or 3 years old. Medyo matanda na naman ako ngayon," he said.

But when asked pointblank if fashion model Sam Lewis is his girlfriend, as has been reported by some gossip websites, Dee was rather evasive in his reply.

"Hindi ko naman maintindihan. Kasi marami namang artista na may non-showbiz relationship bakit parang naka-focus lang sa akin. Parang nagre-research 'yung mga tao. Try niyo kayang mag-research sa iba," he said.

"Sabi ko nga, ayaw kong magsalita. Kahit nung nag-guest ako kay Tito Boy Abunda, hindi ako nag-name names. Kahit sino pa ang magtanong, I just don't want to talk about it. Gusto ko talaga kaming dalawa lang parang ang naguusap ganyan, ayaw kong may involved na ibang tao," Dee said.

Dee also insisted that he has the right to keep his love life private.

"I enjoy the limelight when it's focused on my working life but if it's personal, it's different. I mean nagpapasalamat ako
sa lahat ng taong pinapaubaya sa akin 'yung personal life ko. I have to be happy also," Dee said.

Vice recalls 2010 concert with Vhong in Island Cove

MANILA – Comedian Vice Ganda confirmed that he was with Vhong Navarro on the night April 24, 2010, the same date that former pageant contestant Roxanne Acosta Cabañero claimed she was raped by the “It’s Showtime” host somewhere in Pasig City.

In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” host Boy Abunda on Sunday, Vice Ganda said he was in Island Cove, a resort in Cavite, on that day almost four years ago for a concert with Navarro as one of his guests.

“Nung araw na nagpunta sila para mag-promote ng pageant [sa 'It's Showtime'], hindi ko na po 'yun naaalala. Nung nalaman ko 'yung date, ipinaalala ng mga tao na concert ko 'yun at guest ko sila Kean Cipriano and Vhong Navarro. Sa Cavite po ang leg ng concert ko na 'yun,” he said.

“Sigurado akong hindi nagsimula ng 8 p.m. 'yun. Mahaba ako mag-concert, hindi bumababa ng dalawang oras, usually tatlong oras talaga. Kung nagsisimula ng 9 p.m. maaaring matapos ako ng 12 midnight or baka mas mahaba pa,” he added.

According to Vice Ganda, he was accompanied by Navarro up until his final production number.

“Si Vhong siya lagi ang last guest ko kasi kumbaga, sa lahat ng mga guest ko, siya ang pinakasikat so siya ang last… Kasama ko din siya sa finale number,” he said.

According to Cabanero’s affidavit, she was with Navarro in his car at around midnight on that day.

Angelica Panganiban ready to marry John Lloyd?

MANILA -- According to host Boy Abunda, actress Angelica Panganiban admitted that ever since she was a kid, she wanted to get married at the age of 28.

Now that she is 27, is Panganiban gearing up to marry boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz?

In an interview with "Buzz ng Bayan," Panganiban joked, "After nila Melai, kinabukasan agad. Kaya hindi ako makakapunta eh."

She was referring to the upcoming wedding of "Banana Nite" co-star Melai Cantiveros to long-time boyfriend Jason Francisco.

According to "Buzz ng Bayan" co-host Carmina Villaroel, Panganiban had said that if ever Cruz would propose marriage next year, "magye-yes siya."

But in a separate interview, Cruz denied having any plans as of the moment.

"Wala. Kung mayroon man, papaalam namin sa inyo," the actor said.

Ai Ai thanks boyfriend for not giving up

MANILA – Comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas turned emotional on Sunday as she thanked her businessman boyfriend Jed Salang for not giving up on their relationship after their most recent misunderstanding.

Speaking on “The Buzz” on Sunday, delas Alas said she feels grateful to have Salang by her side despite her insecurities in life.

“Thank you for not giving up on us. Thank you na hinabol mo ako, hindi ka nawalan ng pag-asa. Thank you for loving me,” she said.

Last week on "The Buzz," her manager Boy Abunda confirmed that she and Salang are going through a rough patch. This was after the comedienne immediately left the country after her concert with South Korean rapper Psy to go to the United States.


 On Sunday, delas Alas bared that it was when she was in the U.S. that she realized that she deserves a chance at love.

“Ang dami kong insecurities sa buhay, ang dami kong dinaanan pagdating sa love life. Sobrang takot na takot ako nung nakarelasyon ko si Jed kasi alam naman natin na bata siya, marami pa siyang makikita, pero siyempre iba pa rin ang ganda ko. 'Yung insecurities ko nagkapatong-patong, 'yung tampuhan namin nagkapatong-patong. And then nung lumipad ako sa America, doon ko na-realize na siguro bigyan ko ang chance ang sarili ko na umibig muli,” she said.

Saying Salas is God-given, delas Alas said she will do her best to make their relationship work.

“Lahat naman ng tao walang kasiguruhan ang buhay. Sabi ko anong magiging garantiya ko na kapag hindi si Jed, isang matanda or kaedad ko, paano ako magiging sure na magwo-work out kami? Sabi ko baka ito nga ang binigay ni Lord and maging happy na lang ako sa binigay niya. Ilalaban ko ang relasyon namin until the end,” she said.

Salang, for his part, said he is willing to marry delas Alas for as long as the actress would want to spend the rest of her life with him.

“Kasal? Siguro iyon kung tatanggapin ako ni Ai,” he said.

MANILA, Philippines -- Television host Boy Abunda on Sunday spoke up on rumors involving the love life of his ward Ai Ai delas Alas.

Speaking on "The Buzz" where he is one of the hosts, Abunda confirmed that delas Alas and his boyfriend Jed Salang are indeed having a rough patch.

"Opo, may pinagdadaanan si Ai Ai at ang kanyang boyfriend na si Jed. Tayo'y umaasa na maayos. I cannot give you details dahil hindi ko pa po alam ang detalye, pero yes may problema sila," he said.

Abunda, who is delas Alas' talent manager, said the comedienne immediately left the country after her concert with South Korean rapper Psy last week.

He said delas Alas probably wanted some time for herself that's why she left the country right away.

Despite this, Abunda said he is hopeful that the two can still iron things out.

"I'm a possibilitist. Lahat naman ng bagay, may possibility. Pero for Ai Ai actually to leave immediately right after the concert, medyo may kabigatan siguro ang kanilang pinagdadanaan... Ang sigurado lang tayo, yes may problema," he said.

Abunda said delas Alas will return to the Philippines on Monday and he is hoping that she could air her side of the story on the showbiz-oriented show next week.

Is Chef Jayps the new crush of Kris?

Is "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" judge JP "Jayps" Anglo the newest inspiration of host-actress Kris Aquino?

Last Thursday, Aquino shared to her Twitter followers that there is someone who is making her blush these days -- but denied that it's Brazilian model-actor Daniel Matsunaga, who is being constantly teased with her.


 



Then on Sunday, during a live interview on "The Buzz," Aquino excitedly told good friend Boy Abunda, "Tatlo ang nagpapakilig sa akin."

She then teased viewers by saying one of them will be her guest on "KrisTV" the following day.

On Monday, Aquino's morning show featured guest co-host Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero, who is currently in a relationship with actress Heart Evangelista; Chef Dino Dizon, who admitted on the show that he has a girlfriend; director Lino Cayetano; and Anglo.

Who is Chef Jayps?

Joseph Patrick Anglo is the chef-owner of Mai Po Chinese Restaurant and Mu Shu Asian Restaurant and Lounge in Bacolod City.

He obtained a Diploma in Culinary Arts and Technology Management from the Center of Culinary Arts in Manila and also in Australia, where he earned three certificates in commercial cookery from Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney and another certificate in hospitality management at TAFE Ultimo, a school for technical and further education also in Sydney.

For the past years, Anglo has been jetting to Singapore for his do-it-yourself food safari tours.

It was Anglo's second time to guest on "KrisTV," after appearing on the show's January 11, 2013 episode, where he prepared arroz caldo and champorado.

Even then, the studio audience couldn't help but notice sparks between Anglo and Aquino, who even praised the chef for his "beautiful eyes."

She even joked, "After James, Jayps naman," while Anglo admitted that he was being distracted. 

Aquino also asked if the chef was single. And when he said yes, she asked, "What's your size?" when she meant to say, "What's your sign?"

However, she found out that they are not astrologically compatible.

Flowers for you

Two weeks later, Anglo was back on "KrisTV." On Monday, he prepared an omelette with longganisa and kesong puti.

While cooking, the chef was obviously distracted and even failed to make a perfect omelette.

"Yan ang epekto natin, pressure," Aquino told him.

After cooking his special breakfast dish, Anglo then gave Aquino flowers for her studio kitchen, which came with a letter.

Pressed by Escudero to read the letter aloud, Aquino refused.

"Nakikialam. Kain ka na lang," Aquino told Escudero.

Twitter response

Netizens were abuzz during the episode as they tried to guess the identity of Aquino's secret crush. While there were some who believe it is Cayetano, most agree that Anglo is the one.

Twitter user Maria Kareen Rosana tweeted: "Waaahhhh hahahah!!! Hula ko si Chef Jayps 'yun! Hahahah ..'Wow effort si chef! May bulaklak! Sweeeeeettt!"

Twitter user Chi chai said: "Watching 'KrisTV.' Kinikilig ako kay Kris and kay Chef J. Yeeeee!"

Twitter user Ella said: "Talagang puro bloopers si Chef Jayps today sa 'KrisTV'! Effect ni Ms. Kris hahaha... natense! hangkyut!"

Twitter user Axel Ross Llabore even christened the new tandem: "Kakakilig naman silang dalawa Kris Aquino + Chef Jayps = Kryps."

Entertainment columnist Ogie Diaz asked Aquino via Twitter if her crush is indeed Anglo.

"Naku pare... Hehehe. See u later," Aquino replied to Diaz.

Later in the day, Anglo thanked Aquino via Twitter for guesting him on her show. "Thanks 'KrisTV' for having us over for breakfast earlier. Thank god that omelette got saved & masarap," he said.

Aquino, who had been rather quiet on the micro-blogging site earlier Monday, thanked the chef for his gifts. "Thanks for the effort chef! Thank you for the flowers & the pasalubong - but my biggest thank you is for the lechon kawali. Excited to get home & eat. See you Thursday! "

Aquino and Anglo further exchanged tweets about cooking.

Nothing wrong

In her interview with "The Buzz," Aquino was visibly thrilled about her new crush.

"Text text lang muna. Hindi masama 'yon, normal at natural ang kiligin araw araw," she told Abunda. "Hayaan mo na Boy. Ang tagal-tagal ng hindi nararamdaman ito eh."

"Aminin naman natin, kahit sinasabi ko na okay na ako at maligaya na kami ng mga anak ko, siyempre naman at the end of the day, especially when Bimby gets married, I want a partner. It’s not wrong to wish for that. Hindi naman masama na mag-pray for a happily ever after," she said.

Abunda to try stem cell therapy for mom

MANILA, Philippines -- "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda is going to Europe this weekend with his mother, who is suffering from dementia and Alzeimer’s disease.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday afternoon, Abunda said he will bring his mother to Germany to try stem cell therapy.

"Ako ay pupunta sa Europe hindi para magbakasyon. Dadalhin ko po ang aking ina para magpagamot sa Germany. Ito po 'yung fresh stem cell therapy. Maganda 'yung dini-diretso na dahil napag-uusapan ito," Abunda said.

While Abunda is in Germany, Kris Aquino will take his place on ABS-CBN's entertainment talk show "The Buzz."

In the interview, Abunda also said he's proud of Aquino, who's now open to doing extreme adventures, while continuing to be a good mother to her two sons.

"Ang daming nagbago kay Kris. May mga bagay na hindi ko inakala na gagawin ni Kris like 'yung diving, zipline at marami pang iba. Natutuwa ako that she has become more open to many things. She has become more adventurous. She has retained being the doting mother that she is pero mas malalim ang halakhak niya ngayon sa buhay. She's just so joyful. Natutuwa ako habang pinapanood ko ang kanyang adventure sa 'KrisTV,'" Abunda said.

Abunda said he's also hoping to do a new project with Aquino.

"I'm hoping na someday ay muli kaming magtagpo sa isang palabas dahil marami ang humihiling na kami ay magsama sa isang palabas. Sigurado ako sa puso ko na kami ay gagawa at gagawa dahil magkadugtong ang aming pusod," he said.

KC confirms breakup with Piolo, reveals 'may mga bagay na hindi ko na kayang lunukin'

MANILA, Philippines - KC Concepcion has finally laid long-running speculations to rest by admitting that she and Piolo Pascual have called it quits after an estimated year-long romance.

In what may well be her most emotional interview to date via "The Buzz" on Nov. 27, KC did not reveal the reason behind their breakup because "ayoko lang makasakit ng tao." She likewise begged off answering her co-host Boy Abunda's query if there's a third party involved in the split.

Nevertheless, the singer-host-actress pointed out that, "PJ [Piolo's nickname] knows exactly why we broke up." This reason, she added, was also the "worst" part of their relationship.

Couple problems

The 26-year-old KC gave indirect yet seemingly telling statements about issues that she and Piolo, 34, had as lovers.

"May mga hinahanap ako na napaka-basic lang na hanapin ng isang babae sa isang boyfriend, sa isang lalaki. Ayoko na sigurong pumunta sa details kasi ayokong siraan siya. Pero let’s just say na lahat talaga kaya ko, lahat, lahat-lahat... Tinanggap ko 'yung anak niya. Kahit may mga times na hindi ko siya maintindihan, tinanggap ko kasi sinasabi sa akin ng mga kaibigan namin na personality niya 'yun. Kapag may mga bagay na hindi ako sang-ayon, na dapat ginagawa sa isang babae, tinatanggap ko kasi naniniwala akong mabait siyang tao," she said.

KC eventually broke down. "May mga bagay na hindi ko na kayang lunukin… Hindi ko na kaya 'yun tanggapin…"

In their relationship, KC admitted that she was also at fault in some aspects, saying, "Syempre ginusto ko naman 'to di ba? So kasalanan ko rin sa sarili ko kasi pinaglaban ko pa eh. Ginusto ko eh. Tsaka sobra-sobra talaga akong nagtiwala. Sobra."

"Minsan kailangan mo rin intindihin 'yung sarili mo kasi bigay lang ako nang bigay, tsaka iniintindi ko lahat. Parang masyado akong nagbigay ng benefit of the doubt sa lahat. Intindi lang ako nang intindi, tinatanggap ko lang nang tinatanggap. 'Yun pala hindi pala dapat ganon," she also said.

A lot of things became clear to KC in their first anniversary last Oct. 21, particularly, "'yung mga kaya ko at hindi ko kayang gawin," she said.

Boy asked, "Bilang girlfriend?" KC firmly responded, "Bilang babae."

Though extremely painful, KC realized that "hindi ako 'yung kailangan niya sa buhay niya. Or hindi ako 'yung hinanahanap niya sa buhay niya. And hindi ko mabigay sa kanya 'yung kailangan niya."

Madness and second chances

The months that led to their breakup weren't easy for KC, given that, as she admitted, she's not the type to open her problems up to people.

"Nung time na na-realize ko na talagang hindi na talaga 'to gagana, dalawa or tatlong buwan talaga ako pumapasok sa 'The Buzz' every Sunday or sa 'ASAP [Rocks]' na kunyari okay lang lahat, kasi akala ko parang mawawala lang siya... akala ko parang hindi naman kailangan malaman ng ibang tao para maayos 'yung problema but then, talagang ‘pag pumapasok ako tapos pagdating ng commercial break, hindi ko na talaga alam kung anong mararamdaman ko dahil sa lahat ng pinagdadaanan namin... nagkukulong na lang ako sa banyo. Hindi ko na pwedeng gawin 'yun eh. Hindi ko na siya kayang mag-isa," KC said at length.

The recent US tour she did with Piolo, as well as with Yeng Constantino, also became like an "exam" and a "tug of war" for KC, "Kasi ito 'yung taong minahal ko o mahal mo, pero sobra akong nasasaktan ngayon, pero mahal ko siya, pero hindi na talaga pwede," she said.

She added, "And araw-araw na magkasama kami iniisip ko 'dito lang tayo sa Amerika nagkaroon ng panahon na tayong dalawa lang, ni hindi natin na-enjoy dahil hindi na talaga gagana.'"

All the pain and disappointments eventually piled up and turned to anger, KC recalled. The effects apparently appalled her.

"First time ko rin na parang napapamura na rin ako. Hindi naman ako gano'n, and bigla na lang akong maiiyak kasi hindi pala ako okay."

"[And] never pa akong nakapagdasal ng ganito ka-sobra. First time kong magdasal ng ganito, na talagang, Diyos na 'yun, pwede pa akong magtiwala... And siya lang po talaga yung naging kakampi ko sa lahat," said KC.

She lamented the manner in which Piolo addressed the then-rumors about their relationship.

"Siya natatawa lang siya kapag nakikita kong ini-interview siya, idadaan na lang niya sa joke. Na parang ako, 'Bakit ikaw ganyan, ako ganito?' Bakit parang hanggang sa huli, mag-isa lang ako dito?" she said, adding that she was unsure how to spill the beans to her mother, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, as well as to her grandmother, Elaine Cuneta, who KC stressed, loves the hunk singer-actor dearly.

Piolo nevertheless apologized to KC and asked for another chance.

"Ganun naman po si PJ, humihingi po ng tawad pero ang point naman po ng pagpapatawad ng isang babae is para sana hindi na maulit. Kasi hindi ka naman magpapatawad na iisipin mong paulit-ulit tapos paulit-ulit din na magso-sorry," she said.

KC said she gave Piolo seven chances, but when it got to the eighth, she realized, "hindi lahat ng problema nadadaan sa kilig… nadadaan sa tawa."

"Kasi ang galing-galing niyang magpakilig. Ang tanga-tanga ko nga eh. Dumating lang siya sa point na sandali lang, parang hindi na natin ina-ano 'yung totoong nangyayari. Kasi titignan ka lang niya, ay wala na talaga, nakalimutan ko na lahat. Eh lagi na lang gano'n," she lamented.

Lessons learned

Despite everything that they went through, KC said, "Naniniwala naman ako na ‘pag sinasabi ni PJ na minahal niya ako, naniniwala naman ako na meron namang katotohanan 'yon."

Her first "showbiz" relationship--as KC would say--taught her to be more mature.

"First relationship ko din na seryoso talaga na to the point na talagang may mga bagay na hindi naman kumportable, nagagawa mong tanggapin kasi mahal mo and you choose to accept... Mas naiintindihan ko kung ano 'yung pagmamahal. It sounds corny pero mas [naging] accepting ako," she said.

Asked what were the key lessons she learned from their relationship, the Mega-daughter said, "Magtira ka para sa sarili mo, at ang tiwala na ibibigay mo sa taong mamahalin mo, dapat alagaan nung taong mahal mo."

As of now, KC said she and Piolo are on "civil" terms.

"Ang hinihingi ko lang sa kanya, 'PJ please wag kang magagalit sa'kin dahil nasaktan ako. Wag kang magagalit sa'kin dahil hindi ako perpekto. Wag kang magagalit sa'kin dahil may mga bagay na hindi ko na kayang intindihin at tanggapin. Wag kang magagalit sa'kin kung kailangan ko munang maramdaman 'to lahat, kung kailangan ko munang mag-respond at mag-react, kung paano normal na mag-react ang isang babae sa sitwasyon ko. Please.'"

Notwithstanding the pain and the tears, KC remains hopeful about love. Her wish? "Makahanap ako ng true love!" she exclaimed, laughing while tears filled her eyes.
